Indeed, Hopefully the insurance sends it out to the databases, I won't buy a car without a carfax/ vehicle history. I know its not 100% fool proof but its somewhat reassuring. Plus the engine is having problems.

Fortunately, my house sits much higher than the road. Unfortunately I just spoke with my insurance and they are qualifying "Maybelle" as a total loss. I will not be looking to salvage it, as today when I had to move it for my carport installation, I got a message to immediately shut down my engine, and when it started it sounded very rough. Thank you for your words of encouragement and I hope to find a new MKZ soon.

yes, we received about 16 inches of water in about 48 hours. evidently my new neighborhood has crappy drainage.

Recently relocated to Southern Texas and yesterday my MKZ got flooded with about 4 inches of water in the interior. I will see what the appraiser says next week, but I am not expecting good news. "Maybelle" may be considered totaled according to the agent I spoke to.
  5. I use a bluetooth OBD2 adapter (off amazon, less than 5 bucks) with the torque app( I did pay for PRO) on Android, and I can see specific tire pressures on the app. It's kind of a pain but I don't check it more than once a week. If you are interested I used a preset list of PIDs for ford and found tire pressures for each tire.
  6. It worked! No issues opening my garage now. Thank you for the help.
  7. Yes I do, my whole home is Leds...Why?
  8. I have been having issues with my Homelink system since I purchased my 2014 late last year. Signal on seems to work from about 10 feet away at most, but if its below 40 degrees, most of the time it won't work. Sometimes if I open my car door and press it, then it will open my garage, but not always. I had a Chevy Volt prior to my MKZ and had no issues with the homelink. A regular garage door opener will open from the street (40-50 feet away) from inside any vehicle. Anyone have similar issues?
  9. I upgraded to 3.8, no issues, still have vehicle health report. downloaded from one of the Ford Sync forums.
  10. Did you pay for/subscribe to SIrius Traffic? This service will provide traffic alerts in select area(big cities) http://www.siriusxm.com/siriusxmtraffic/marketcoverage If you don't subsribe to this, you will not see traffic alerts/accidents/etc on your map, only how the streets were currently set the year your map database was deployed.
  11. Just bought a '14 MKZ hybrid, and I have to say, it is one of the most comfortable seats I've been in. I really think they are on par with a couple of mercedes I've driven. I spent a good 20 minutes adjusting the seat using the screen. It takes a while with all the different levels for each different part of the seat. I drove back home from the dealership (3 hours) and felt better than on my drive over there. The massage seat also is pretty darn great.
