  1. I've read different things on this.  What is the normal range for the ev battery?  The gauge on the dash will sometimes read at 1/8 in the morning or when it's really hot out.  It very rarely goes over half; although I have seen it at full every once in a while.  I ride 'in the blue' a lot and that's why I'm constantly at 41 mpg.  My normal range is between 1/4 and 1/2 on the gauge. I'm coming up to 100k on the my 2017.

as an aside:  I noticed that the 'spinning' wheel will happen when I let off the gas.  Does the engine recharge the battery while it's running?  I was under the impression that the battery only recharges with the brakes.

  2. I have no idea where to put this post.  Anyway, I found this near my car, in my garage, near the trunk on the passenger side, although I doubt that means anything.

It's 13 mm head and is almost 1/2 long.  Since my car is the only one in the garage it had to have fallen off from it.  Where the heck would I start to look where it may have fallen off?  Suggestions?

  3. Is there a way to reset the whole computer system?  It's been happening more and more of,

--notification of hands not on the wheel when they are

--notification of the front sensor (something) saying clean the windshield even after I've washed the car.

--remote starting and the seat comes on a/c in 20 degree temps.  I've used the climate settings of last used or auto.

--lane assist occasionally works.  The border colors on the dash will sometimes read yellow when I'm in the middle of the road.  I can also purposely drive over 'off' the road for it to activate, but it doesn't.  And is this sensor in the mirror assembly or in the fenders?

There are a few more but I can't remember what they are.  I keep forgetting to take my memory pills.  ?

So, I'm wondering if doing a complete reboot of the system is possible.

It's supposed to go into NIGHT mode automatically when the headlights come on, unless that setting's been turned off.

The dashboard does but not the backup display.

Hi Chris. What setting do you have the SYNC screen illumination set to in the SYNC settings?  Try setting it to AUTO, if you haven't already.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Is that the setting under "Display"?  I just turned that all the way down.  I'll see what happens when it's dark outside.

  6. Don't know if this is common with these cars or not.  But on my 2017, when I put in reverse and the camera comes on, the display is so bright it basically is blinding in the interior of the car.  Is there a way to turn it down that I have missed?  And adjusting the dashboard lighting does not affect it.

Update on the 2023 MKZ , it will be made in China not Japan, just for Chinese market .  I was not liking the new design , you can see it on Youtube ..

Does the new strain of covid come standard or is it part of the tech pkg?

  8. No idea under what heading to put this under.

Anyway, on my 2017, I was caught in a driving rainstorm where I stopped off for an hour to let it pass.  When I headed back on the road I noticed drops of water dripping from the passenger side a-pillar.  I thought I had the window open.  It wasn't.  But I could see the fabric wet.  I then checked the driver side pillar.  It was soaked.  I know I fiddled with the moonroof to get some air circulation but it was closed.  Except for that, I only cracked the read windows open a bit.  What could have been the problem?

  9. I've always used Lincoln to change my oil.  However, since the local dealership has closed, I will not drive 60+ miles to get it done from the nearest dealer.  Do any of you guys get it done at a Jiffy Lube or those type of places?  Ford is not exactly around the corner either.

  10. I had posted on the Ford Sync Forum about a situation that popped up recently about music being played/shown not in order from my external hard drive even though it was fine in the past.  Mp3 tags are what they should be.

    https://fordsyncforum.com/index.php?/topic/7490-albumssongs-no-longer-in-order/ )

However, now something new has happened where I would be playing music, change the source to radio, then go back to the music, and the song that was playing starts again, but the track meter would show the point where I had changed the source (ex.  track would show a certain time where I stopped the song but the track starts from the beginning).

I've done a master reset but it seems it has gotten worse.  Sync is updated.

Unfortunately, my local Lincoln dealer with whom I had a good rapport with, was sold and the new owners were not allowed to become Lincoln dealers.  Now I need to find a good Ford dealer.

  11. Ok.  For the last month plus, every time I would start the car and I would get the warning that fob battery needed to be changed.  So, I finally changed it yesterday with a brand new battery. (Manual says it takes a 2032 when, in fact, a much bigger 2450 is the one that goes in it).  I'm still getting the warning to change the battery.  Do fobs go bad?

Hi Chris. Good to hear you were able to figure it out and finalize the update! ?

Don't forget the final step, which is to upload the XML file (if one was loaded onto your USB drive) back onto the Lincoln SYNC 3 update website. This notifies Lincoln which version your SYNC 3 system currently has.  If there is no XML file, then don't worry about it.

    Good luck.

    Dun did dat.  ?

  13. I found the problem.  When I unzipped (eh-hem), the whole folder went to the usb, not the individual files.  Also, the screen says the the update, or something, is in process.  And that is not stated anywhere on the Lincoln site that those words would show up on the screen.  Took all of 2 minutes to do the update.  Screens says the rest will occur when the vehicle is restarted.  Did that.  Now the Build shows 20204 from 19xxx

  14. Lincoln tells me there is an update for my 17 hybrid.  I followed their instructions but can someone tell me exactly what should be done?  I start the car, put the usb in.  Then what?  Is the system supposed to tell me something while it's doing it's thing?  I've done it 2 times.  Both times over an hour.  Usb is formatted correctly.  Nothing on the screen at all tells me mission accomplished.  Sync version still says 3.0. The update is v3.0.20204. The only thing that has changed is on my usb external hard drive I use for music, some artists have changed from artist to composer (ie. I have the soundtrack for Charade from 1963 with Cary Grant.  The artist now says it's Amy Grant instead of Charade Soundtrack.  Huh?)  But, I digress.
