  1. So, I already have the Aukey DR02 installed on my front window. However, I wanted one for the rear window also. I didn't see anything that I could hook up with the front cam without buying the duo set. So, I did some digging. Since I have the rear sun shade, I would need something that would not interfere with the movement of the shade. I threw the Aukey up as high on the rear window as possible, taped it down, and turned the shade up and down. Both times it made contact with Aukey. I then took out my trusty ruler and measured how much clearance there was between the window and the shade. I then went on Amazon to check out the different dash cams and actual thickness of many of them. I came across the Contour Dash Cam CR250. https://www.amazon.com/Crosstour-Camera-170°Wide-Detection-G-Sensor/dp/B07Q38D2K7/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3K0GW3G192LXW&keywords=contour+dash+cam&qid=1583006803&sprefix=contour+dash%2Caps%2C176&sr=8-5 It fits perfectly. The sun shade comes close, but misses the cam every time. So on the passenger side of the car, I ran the wire up along the inside of the headliner, down along the door and made it's way to underneath the glove box. I spliced the power wire that goes to the cig lighter on the lower shelf of the console, and connected the front and rear cam power wires together with grounds. Now I have dash cams on the front and rear and both have excellent quality. Hopefully, they will never be needed. As an aside, I did not use the 2-sided tape on either cam. (I had originally used the included 2-sided tape, but I had put the cam so closed to the head liner, that when I wanted to remove the camera, there was no room to get the camera off of the mount. So, I had to rip off the tape and basically start again with placement.) I just removed the sliding mount and attached the Scotch clear velcro-type fasteners, like what is used on the EZ-Pass electronic tag. Put one piece of on the window and one on the cam. That way I don't need to fool around with trying to get the camera mount straight (I'm a stickler for straight and level). However, on the rear cam, I used 2 pieces on the camera, cause the cam is balanced in the middle of the cam and not on the thickest part. It was bouncing around with just one piece. 2 pieces levels it out nicely and still will not interfere with the sun shade.
  2. Took my annual sabbatical to the Sunshine State. When I returned, I checked my mileage. 34.5 mpg. Not that great, but, it got me where I was going. It was very cold when I left and didn't get warm til I hit NC. When on I-95 with a bunch of lunatic drivers going 80+ and trying to keep with the flow, it is to be expected. Got better mileage coming back then I did going down. It was mainly 34 hwy, but 37-38 driving around with the blue haired ladies.
  3. I wish there was a way to get rid of the installed navigation. I just use Waze on Android Auto. Everything is up to date and you basically have live traffic reports. I'm surprised some geek hasn't figured out a way to incorporate Waze/Google Maps into Sync.
  4. I filled up when I was at about 40 miles to go to empty, according to the dash, and it said that the range was 500+ miles. Used that up over the course of a week or so, and when I prepared to take a long trip, I waited till I received the 50 mile warning, I filled up again. This time the dash told me my range was only about 450 miles. I was stumped, but, what was I gonna do about it. Can't really tell what the range will be until you drive it. I just go until the 50 mile warning comes on. I think that still leaves me about 2-3 gallons of fuel.
  5. I seem to recall there was a thread on this problem. Gonna need to do a search. I think it was a year ago?
  6. You bring up Monty Python, and then a few days later Terry Jones dies, I think it is best to stay a way from you.
  7. I was gonna put my name in for them, but I just had the interior of my car cleaned, and after removing all of the food leavins' and caked on mud, I see that I still have a viable carpet.
  8. I didn't expect that there would be that big of a difference between them.
  9. I was wondering about the V4. Version 4, I believe, is for the 2020s, as I have a '17. I only have the Version 3.
  10. In another thread I had stated that I bought an extended warranty. I received a couple of pages concerning my '17 hybrid. What I find odd is that under "SYNC VERSION' it says, "V4 Gen 3". Any ideas on exactly what that is? Or am I complaining once again?
  11. Waited til the last minute and bought the ESP Premium plan today from Ziegler. Extra 3 years and 50k. I originally received a quote from them for $2k. I'm good with that. So, somehow I ended up on a Ford 150 forum and there was a thread about extended warranties. I was reading thru it and there was a link for Flood Ford from wherever. I go to that site and do a quick quote. It came back at $1875. Hmmm. I then send off an email to Ziegler about why such a discrepancy. They came back with a new quote of $1825. Bought it. I call that a win.
  12. I learned recently, when Waze wasn't working correctly, that a data dump will most likely fix most app issues.
  13. No need for a bike rack. There's plenty of room in the trunk.
  14. ROLL TIDE! I'll look you up when I'm heading thru Palm Coast.
  15. I do not know. However, since I use mine a lot at night, I was going to ask if there is any maintenance that should be done to them, but I would probably be accused of complaining.
  16. I do know that the memory function does not work when the vehicle is in motion.
  17. Yeah, when I read a bit more on it, the program is basically an 'inspection' of those things. Most times they will do that anyway.
  18. 700 miles to go before the new car warranty runs out. Always wait til the last minute. Have any of you also gotten the Premium Maintenance plan along with the ESP? I don't know if it is worth the extra $1800 on top of the price of the extended for another 3 years and 50k.
  19. I read the manual. I wanted to know if there was a code or something to dim the dashboard to almost nothing. Jeez. Are you the same person who plowed snow against my fence and bending the crap out of it, and when I said something, you said I was complaining about that also?
  20. Does anyone know if there is a way to dim the dash board even more than it is? When I press the dimmer switch, and the little meter is at the point it will not go any more, I find the lights are still too bright for me. They do increase and decrease according to the meter, so there is not a fault, I do not think. I just like my lights to be almost non-existent cause it messes with me concentrating on outside things. I'm more comfortable when I can block the dashboard and radio with my arm. Of course, later on in the day but not quite dusk, when the auto adjust (?) is activated, the panel is very dark and hard to read cause the sun is still basically out. Sort of like when leaving a dark garage into the sunlight, the lighting hasn't adjusted to the outside so reading the panel or backup camera is so difficult. Not sure what is normal anymore. Maybe there is a fault.
  21. With my '17, even on cold days, after I've been driving around, if I stop for, maybe, 30-45 minutes, and get back in the car, without using autostart but having auto climate on, the air-conditioned seats occasionally do come on.
