  1. Checking back in here after a few months. Baby came 5/30, MKZ sold in late July (Dealer bought it back), I sold off most mods and parts from it - and we got the replacement. After extended seat time in our XF-S Sportbrake, and my love for the DEW98 chassis, I decided to get a car that will combine the best of both worlds and also scratch my recent itch for a V8. Found the car in California and had it shipped out to us, came back and was able to get it next to the old MKZ on the lot for a picture of the two of them. Say bye to the MKZ and hello to our new car, a '15 XFR-S in Polaris White. 550hp/500tq, 5.0L s/c V8. This car is an absolute brute/blast. The new stable!
  2. Thanks Artie! The car did indeed sell and all its associated parts are now with new owners. I have the stock springs and sway bars still in the basement, but doubt I will ever find a buyer for those.
  3. Hi everyone - sold my MKZ 3.0TT and have some parts I pulled off of it for sale. Please PM for quickest response. ALL PARTS SOLD - THANKS $200 - Steeda CAI $100 - Steeda Front Strut Brace $250 - SCT X4 Unmarried $75 - CPE Rear Motor Mount $5 - Steeda Front Camber bolts (new)
  4. Hi all, sold the MKZ but pulled these off before the sale. Viewable at the following link PM me or use CL relay for any question/interest https://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/wto/d/naperville-neuspeed-light-weight-wheels/7342028835.html
  5. $23k with stock wheels $24k with both sets Let me know if you have any questions.
  6. Car is officially for sale! Please tell all your friends. Also, lowerd it to $24k - which includes the OEM wheels (set of 4) with 10k mi on the all seasons, and the Neuspeed summer wheels, also with about 7k on them (Michelin P4S). Spare 5th wheel included All stock parts come with car. Sticker, Carpet mats and rubber mats, SCT tuner/handheld device with stock tune on it, plate frame, etc. Thanks!
  7. its the pic, the iPhone cant always capture the LED output correctly. The car has 4 "glaring" issues. All cosmetic. 1) peeling paint on hood edge, known issue from Ford I just haven't had it addressed (yet) 2) slight scratch on passenger seat bottom. 3) Scuff on driver side side skirt, near bottom of fender I think a snow shovel grazed it during the winter as I have never curbed this car. 4) Interior scratch marks on the driver side rear window tint. PO must have had a dog, or the selling dealer used a tool to apply the window sticker, as there is a lot of scratch evidence. If I redo this, I have to redo all the tint to match as I dont know what film was used. Not visible from outside the car and I never sit back there so I havent addressed it. These are in my opinion the most noticeable issues of the car. at 50k miles none are very surprising, but would never want underdeliver on what I think is a great condition car.
  8. I have it up on FB marketplace, here, FordFusion Sport Forums, and a few other MKZ groups. I have everything together ready to go/sell. So def let me know if your timeline changes. I have actually had a lot of "hits" from FB, but no test drives or in person visits. Just lots of picture and inquiry conversations.
  9. I paid $400 for my lower grill trim, window frames, rear valance accent. ANother $150 for door handles and mirror bottoms. (gloss black vinyl, not paint) For the grill, you are better off buying another grill and having it stripped/painted vs "Wrapped". as the honeycomb would be impossible to wrap. and the curves of the front grill border are a bit tricky. You can mask and tape the entire car and paint stuff on the car, but Im not a fan of this method with overspray risk and the paint wont cure very well on the plastic chrome. Vinvyl is a cheap repair/touch up and can be undone as well.
  10. I see your point, if you knew me personally it would likely make more sense. Its what I do pretty much haha. I enjoy taking cars from stock to oem+ and then I start to look for something new and do it all over again. for me its about the project/transformation/personalization journey. In this case though, we are looking into different options with a baby on the way and After getting our Jag I am really in love with them Im well aware the majority of buyers prefer stock, especially the typical MKZ buyer. But I am used to selling modified cars and am perfectly content dealing with that niche market. If I need to bring this car closer to stock I can, but a lot of people getting into the 3.0tt's now are after the performance and will do most of these mods anyway. If this doesn't sell, no big deal - i love the car but would humor an opportunity for the next project.
  11. What do you all think of the summer wheels combined with the blacked-out trim? Im loving the look. Car is for sale! Stock/Spare Related Parts, included with sale. (wheel is unused extra/spare 5th, no rubber)
  12. Updating this thread with pics of the car on summer wheels. Please message me with any questions.
  13. Hey everyone, hope all is well. Wanted to update here that I am looking into selling this car. Found out we are expecting our first little one! So we are exploring new options for the fleet at home. I will likely keep the LS as my project car, but already sold my Audi S4 project (no engine) and am thinking of replacing the MKZ with something else. We picked up a Jaguar XF Sport brake recently to replace the S4 and it is incredible! This is a want vs need thing at the moment, so I am only listing it here and maybe the ford fusion sport forum to start. Not in any sort of absolute need to sell position, but thought maybe someone here would want this, or know of someone looking for 400+hp for $25k in the understated and beautiful car like the MKZ. I just did about $600 worth of maintenance on this car. Full detail, rotation, oil change using ecoboost amsoil and motorcraft filters, brake fluid flush/bleed, cabin air, and motorcraft plugs. I have put about 13,000 miles on the car since owning it, and have spent maybe about $7k in mods. So whoever gets this will get all that for the price I paid about 16months ago. Still has CPO coverage and I am the second owner. Thread is in the classifieds.
  14. Feeling out selling my MKZ, wanted to throw it up here to the community first, in case anyone is looking to get into a 3.0T and wants a car they can trust vs one from a random dealer/vendor. Expecting our first little one and looking into "larger" upgrades and using this as an opportunity to get something newer. I just picked this MKZ up in Nov of 2019, so I haven't had it for even 2 years yet. Do not need to sell it but would to the right buyer if I can get it out of here without too much hassle. So there's the context, here's whats for sale! $24,000 2017 MKZ Reserve - 50k mi 3.0TT - AWD - Magnetic Grey, Black Interior Driver's PKG ( torque vectoring, carbon fiber trim, sport seats, grey upper grill, tweaked DCC settings) Climate Package (heated steering wheel and rear seats) Sunroof (non-pano) Revel Audio (middle package) Car has CPO coverage still from Ford. The car is modified, I would argue tastefully but can provide any/all stock parts. Not planning to remove or partout at this time Engine: (probably close to 450-465HP maybe more?) Unleashed 93oct Tune (Torrie Engine and Trans tune), via SCT4 XCAL GFB DV+ Steeda CAI kit UP Garret FMIC core CpE Performance Rear-Motor-Mount (Lower) Suspension: H&R Sport Springs Steeda Front Strut Brace Steeda Sway Bars, front & rear - powder coated satin black Neuspeed RSE-08 Lightweight Wheels - 19x8.5 (focus RS fitment) Custom drilled centers for M14 black lugs and MKZ/FordFusionSport lugs Michelin PS(4) tires, 5,000mi OEM MKZ Reserve Wheels with Uniroyal Tires (Winter setup) Appearance: 20% window tint, all but front windshield Gloss Black Vinyl on: Lower chrome trim, window frames, rear bumper trim Removed rear emblems Painted Matched License Plate Bolt covers (Bumper Plugs) Maintenance: Just did Oil Change, Brake Fluid, Plugs, and Cabin Air filter at 49k (amsoil, motorcraft) Winter tires have 10k and summer set has less than 5k mi. Alignment every 4-5 months (car has lifetime program) Trans, PTU and Rear Diff fluids done at 40k right after purchase. (motorcraft fluids used) New sway links, strut mounts, bearings, spring perches and hardware replaced with Spring install. (all motorcraft) I have every receipt, invoice, and an excel record of each modification/maintenance item. Will include these details with purchase. Car drives very nice, the springs give it the edge/sportiness the car lacks from the factory. Driving in Sport mode lets the car really shine and with the Ps4 rubber the car is very capable aroudn corners and off the line. Almost ZERO wheel sping from a good launch and incredibly confident on curves. Braking is also really advanced with the tires. The lower ride hieght means taking caution aroudn curbs and speedbumps, but no rubbing or other adverse side effects. The car looks great with minimal wheel gap. The power is readily available and enough to make you say "whoa". I opted for not doing exhaust or upgrading the fueling to keep the car simple, fun, and reliable. But it has more room to grow if you want to take it there, and has been well maintained should you decided to do so. No oil or coolant usage, no CEL, no issues. It is our daily driver and is well cared for. The only issue is the paint is lifting/chipped on one part of the hood. This is a known issue form ford but I have not been able to get it looked at. Otherwise, everything functions great. The seat massage screen sometimes freezes on the screen, but turning off the car and restarting does the trick. Also ambeint lighting tends to reset itself back to white every once and a while. Happy to answer any questions or go into any details further for serious buyers. I cant say enough good things about this car. It was a dream to have and has been a blast to drive. Just ready to move on with it. I can arrange shipping through a friend who does private transport, I am also happy to work with you and a preferred provider if you are out of state or looking to do a contact-free transaction. I have bought/sold many cars and am well versed in the process from paperwork to taxation! Please feel free to ask any questions. I own the car outright and have the title.
  15. What he said^! I had everything covered in gloss black vinyl. It was actually the monochrome package car that inspired me to do so! haha so funny how taste is relative, but I agree, on a black car, one can go too far and the car starts to get a bit muted. Hence why I left the grill/mirrors/door handles. I paid $450 to have the work done from a shop near me, took him a half day. I did get all the part #'s for the monochrome parts but it ended up being about the same after shipping and I didn't want to deal with removing/installing. I can always "go back" if I choose this way too, without removing panels or pieces.
  16. Thanks - would you recommend I do a dealer visit first? Or "Write a letter" type of thing?
  17. Here is the hood paint lifting:
  18. Thanks! yeah, I love the uppers - dont care for the lowers (they dont match and it bothers my OCD) Turning them off in the settings menu gets rid of the uppers which I think look really good. I might be able to borrow coding from a fusion but I tried that in my last MKZ and did not have success as the MKZ may have had different coding/modules. I am also just not tech-inclined and the thought of coding modules really scares me. So I was wondering If I could cover the lenses with vinyl (risk bleed out or heat from the lights?) OR mechanically alter the circuit by unplugging, but I'd imagine this will generate an error.
  19. Happy Holidays everyone! Ended up doing the chrome delete a few weeks ago. Did the lower grill trim, window trim, and rear bumper lower trim. I left the mirrors, door handles, and upper grill alone, for now. Two initial driveway pics (stock wheels are back on for winter, and I dont hate the look with the lowering springs actually!) But I am looking forward to the darker wheels being back on in the Spring as I think it will flow nicely with this new look. Let me know what you think, and if I should keep going with the doors/mirrors. I think I want to, and leave the grill as-is, its a nice pop. Next Question - Foglight/Lower DRL Delete - I simply dont like them, I love the ones in the headlight as they are solid and bright, but I find the lowers to be off-color, and dated with the single LED's spaced out. How can I turn these off permanently, I will likely then use vinvyl to hide the lense.
  20. I don't have an update on this yet - it hasn't worsened but it is noticeable and annoying. Will try to get a pic.
  21. @CDW6212R I do believe the stock exhaust O.D. is 2.25", keep in mind that is per bank, as it is a true dual system. There is a Ford Edge sport custom kit out there at 2.5" and the Ultimate performance downpipes are 3". As I ponder on what type of full setup i'd do, im trying to think if 3" is worth it. Also, not crazy how these cars sound with exhaust, just kinda blah and flat to me, so Im after performance more than sound - maybe some weight savings too as stock systems are generally pretty heavy. Thanks for the love on the wheels, I was really happy with total fitment. I am pretty sure 255's would work, I opted for stock tire sizing because I wasn't sure if the extra 0.5" in width and lower ET (et45) vs the stock wheels would get me too close to fenders. I also went for a really good summer tire, so I exchanged that for contact patch. The MPS 4S are really sticky, almost no wheel spin whatsoever. I could prob get away with a bit thicker tire, or even a 5mm spacer front and rear. The car has rubbed ZERO with this setup. On bumps, corners, loaded and unloaded, not one rub.
  22. Couple updates - Car ran a 12.6 at the track a few weeks back. Was hoping for a bit quicker, but very happy with it regardless. Car is still the fastest car I have ever had, and on the street its insane and surprises me every time I drive it. Pretty happy overall with the car right now, might still do some de-chroming, brake upgrade, or maybe exhaust down the road, but nothing urgent for me as I have some other projects that need attention from me. Starting to get cold in Chicago area, so its time for the summer tires to go, washed the car today and cleaned the wheels, tomorrow I will put the stock wheels/rubber back on. Took some pics to enjoy the clean paint before it gets dirty 12hours later ? Enjoy some fall pics of the MKZ, the springs and ride height have settled a bit since the last set of pics which were fresh after install. And two of my "other lincoln" project. Just finished the custom diff (LSD and 4.10's) install on it, so the character has definitely changed. Driving the LS and MKZ back to back is always so interesting. ?
  23. Thanks for the slip and the video. Gonna digest that for a bit. Yes - no launch in my table above means basically off idle. I "exchanged" brake for gas simultaneously. I wanted to try both methods as it was my first time out with the car. I also had a bad experience trying to brake-boost at home one day. The car went into some sort of limp mode after I built some boost and let off. I thought I broke something. So I didnt want to experience that in my first two passes. Torrie said he removed the brake override feature but I didn't even bother loading that tune last night as I was able to get it to 2k and lift w/o duplicating that issue last night. It did make a difference no doubt, so did not staging for 30min before each pass. I am sure the fueling and tune are making for most of the difference between us too. I guess I thought my light weight wheels (11lbs lighter per corners) would account for more for me knowing how heavy the stockers are and how much of am impact unsprung weight has on acceleration/handling. Still happy with the car though no doubt. Yes I am on H&R's, and the wheels are 19x8.5" with a nice offset to they fill the fender well. Thanks for the compliments! When we going back?
