  1. I have this same issue on my 2013. Been trying to find the part number to see how much a new piece costs. My other thought was to just plastidip both of the ones on the sides so they match and then I don't have to worry about it.
  2. I brought it to the dealer since I wanted them to fix another TSB anyway and they determine it was a bad harness. They quoted about $215 total for the parts and labor. I didn't give them the go ahead yet because I was going to see if it was something that was fairly easy to do and I could just tackle it myself. I can't seem to find any good instructions anywhere that shows where the harness is routed, etc. Is there a good site to go to in order to see how to replace it? Also, I would need to figure out if it is one complete harness or if there are multiple harnesses and then I would have to figure out which part number it is.
  3. Here are the codes: ===ACM DTC B1A89:11-0A=== Code: B1A89 - Satellite Antenna Additional Fault Symptom: - Circuit Short To Ground Status: - DTC Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Audio Control Module ===END ACM DTC B1A89:11-0A=== ===ACM DTC B1A89:13-0A=== Code: B1A89 - Satellite Antenna Additional Fault Symptom: - Circuit Open Status: - DTC Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Audio Control Module ===END ACM DTC B1A89:13-0A=== What is weird about the two faults is one says it is an open circuit and the other says it is a short, can't be both.
  4. I have tried a few things from that post on my 2013. So far I did: Disabled the double horn when the car is running and the door is closed with no fob detected Simultaneous High Beams and Fog Lights Increased the heated steering wheel temperature to 84 degrees (from the default 68) I haven't been able to get much else working since most of the codes seem to be for 2014+
  5. I tried enabling this in my 2013 MKZ and I was not able to get the AWD display to come up at all. So I am wondering if it is possible at all.
  6. So I downloaded FORScan and was able to look at the more "detailed" error codes and they didn't really provide much more detail. It showed two faults that were satellite antenna related. Then the weird thing, today while out running errands, I randomly tried to use XM again and it worked. It worked for a about 5 minutes and then the fault came back. That happened one more time on my trip, but not it is off again. So to me that seems like it is not a completely bad unit, and may be a connection or wiring issue. Does anyone know where the module is?
  7. Haha, sorry, I never updated that. Current car is a 2013 3.7 AWD MKZ w/Panoramic Roof. Would a normal scan tool see codes like that or do I need a specialized tool? I have an OBD2 scanner (its an Actron, I just forget which model off-hand) that supposedly also will detect some make specific codes.
  8. So I just recently got this error message when trying to use XM (and yes the subscription is active). It worked on my drive to church Sunday morning, but when I went to leave church, this error showed up. FM radio works fine. Has anyone seen this issue before? Any idea what it might be? Any way to troubleshoot any further? Could this be anything related to the ASIM TSB? Thanks!
  9. Yea that was my next step. So I actually popped the piece off last night (well pooped it off the clips but it is still help on by the double sided tape) and there really isn't anything that looks like it can be adjusted. It's weird, the ONLY thing I could see is that it looks like the whole roof structure might be able to be "pulled down more", but even that I can't really tell. Something seems really strange with this and there are no reported accidents or anything so it doesn't seem like there was previous damage.
  10. Does anyone have a service manual for the 2013-2016 MKZ's? I bought a used 2013 MKZ with the panoramic roof and that trim piece is not sitting right and is causing some wind noise because it sits higher than the windshield. The dealer replaced it under warranty because the noise was unbearable at highway speeds. The unbearable noise is fixed, but it still isn't right. I have seen numerous MKZ's with the panoramic roof and the piece is definitely supposed to be flush. The dealer is at a loss because he said that there isn't much adjustment for that trim piece and he couldn't find any TSB's or anything about any issues so they aren't sure what to do. I was hoping to try and find some more information so I could potentially point them somewhere to look. I want to try and get this addressed before the warranty runs out. Thanks!
  11. So I downloaded this update from the dropbox and the first thing I noticed was that when it starts installing the files it says 1 of 8, whereas others are referring to 1 of 14. Did I do something wrong? EDIT: Nevermind, I found the 3 of 14 that everyone was referring to, ha!
  12. I am closing in on a deal on a fully loaded 2013 MKZ with AWD and the 3.7 and pretty much every option with 39k miles. I think I am getting a decent deal on it, but I am slightly concerned that everything is electronic on the vehicle and if something breaks it seems like it would be expensive to fix. Is it worth looking in to the Ford ESP at all? Or should I take chances and assume it will be reliable? I am very capable of fixing things because I am a car guy, but my concern is more about the cost of the parts. Any thoughts?
