  1. I like the interface and don't even bother with apple CarPlay. But..... When I plug my phone in and start the car, sometimes sync 3 spots the phone. Sometimes not. I have to unplug and replug the phone to get it to recognize. Sometimes I can select and play my podcasts. Other times I click a podcast to listen to and nothing happens. Sometimes it works fine. Once the map refused to load. Soft reset fixed that. Yes, I could use Bluetooth to do my phone listening but I'd rather interact with Sync 3 than the phone while driving. And charge it too. Is my experience typical? I'm a version 2 and wifi connected. Although I can't verify if I have the latest because when checking version the thing just spins, it never confirms I have the latest version.
  2. Agree on different seats. MKZ should have thigh extenders. More interior color choices on the lesser versions. Fix all the Sync 3 bugs. Frustrating.
  3. Just to confirm, it was the Sync nav that told you to do this? Did you have to push the XM traffic button at all en route to get the reroute warning?
  4. Have been eyeballing a Select V6 FWD with the only options being moonroof, 19" rims, and Revel. Last week I spent some time at my local dealer, drove the V6 and 4 cyl back to back, and tested the Revel vs. the base stereo. The Revel sounded good. But the pounding and rattling in the driver's side door panel annoyed me to no end. No go on the Revel. I'm coming out of a 2014 Fusion with the 1.5 turbo engine, so the 2.0 in the MKZ felt strong enough for me. So I selected a more basic car, a Blue/cappuccino 2.0 FWD Select with moonroof, base rims, Select Plus, and the climate package. I think I'll enjoy the features of these two packages a lot. I was thinking I'd find Apple carplay sufficient in lieu of navigation but I find I like the Sync 3 interface better, so for the time being I've shut off carplay. I think I can still use Siri to reply to texts by voice, and with carplay shut off the Pandora app on Sync appears. I posted a question on the Nav forum asking which nav (Sync vs. Apple) is better for monitoring and circumnavigating traffic. Happy to finally be a member of the club!!!
  5. Just picked my MKZ up a week ago, thought I'd really dig Apple Carplay but I'm wondering if I need to bother with it. I don't have any experience with the system yet navigating through heavy traffic (currently live in Wisconsin, will occasionally drive to/through Chicago to Toledo and back). Obviously I'd prefer Waze but I'm wondering if the Sync 3 nav or Apple maps are better for traffic monitoring/rerouting. I have six years of SiriusXM traffic but based upon what I've read online it isn't worth much.
  6. I love that color combination you had for date night! I too had weekend use of a car and it was a black on black Reserve model (yawn). I'm about to pull the trigger on an MKZ and am reading this thread with interest. But my wife is giving me a lease budget so I'll be choosing a car with fewer options. I'm leaning towards: V6 FWD Select. Hope the torque steer doesn't bother me because I don't want to deal with higher capital cost and lower gas mileage. I've had front wheel drive cars forever and have never had a problem in the snow. Only time I've ever experienced torque steer in the past was a few years ago in a rented Maxima, I stood on the gas to pass a slow moving truck on an uphill grade, and the torque steer practically ripped the wheel out of my hands. I want the V6 for quiet and smoothness, and my occasional heavy right foot. I am not getting the Select plus package. I just had the privilege of driving a new Continental for 10 hours that did not have navigation and I didn't miss it. For the times that I'd need navigation, I'd probably plug my iPhone in and use CarPlay, or use the Waze app directly from my phone. Don't think I need the blind spot detection either. I have not heard the 14 speaker Revel system but I want it anyway because I am not impressed with the base Ford/Lincoln stereo systems. The basic Revel system, just has to be better than the base sound system, not quite ready to pony up for the $4,000 luxury package. Beyond these I'm just looking at 19" rims (not essential) and the basic moonroof. If I was actually buying the car and keeping it beyond three years, I would definitely want to choose more options. I'm hoping with the next version of the MKZ that they adopt seats that are similar to the Continental's... they were amazing, even the base seats in the Select model that I drove. With thigh extenders and 4 way lumbar those seats would be even better....
  7. I know these can change next month but just wanting to do some number crunching... these are hard to find online. Interested in a 2017 MKZ Select, V6 FWD, 12,000 and 15,000 mile leases. Where can I find the residual values & money factors for lease calculation? This will help me determine the purchase price of the car I need to negotiate to to get the lease payment I want. Thanks!
  8. Nah, can save $1200 and look over my shoulder. Old school.
  9. Only reason I haven't pulled the trigger is my lease doesn't end until 9/14. Lincoln can waive the last three payments but not the last six. I'm actually blessed to be renting a new Continental right now. Great car but I like a little smaller. Will be a perfect car for my wife. Even so, with this car I am coming to three conclusions: Revel upgrade is probably essential. The Conti has the base and it's no better than my SE Fusion. I want the V6. I don't need the nav. Used my phone with CarPlay and it worked great.
  10. Curious to hear how the base stereo compares with the $1,180 Revel upgrade. I'm an audiophile but $4K is a pinch steep for the full bore version....
  11. I've leased four Acuras and a Mercedes. Currently in a 2014 Fusion which has impressed me to no end. It is the only car I have ever considered leasing consecutively (I would probably do that if I can't make the numbers work on an MKZ). You mention the seats, did you get the multi-contour? I have an SE Fusion and they are superbly comfortable on long drives. I like the Titanium seats a little more even though they are a little more confining. Regarding the Revel, it's true there is no worse sounding source material than satellite radio. In a few weeks I plan to visit a dealer and test a few cars, with and without the V6, the Revel stereo (I'm bringing a CD and a USB drive), and the multi-contour seats to figure out which options I really have to have. After that I'm hoping to order my own MKZ.
  12. Appreciate the feedback! Financially do you lose out if you special order? Aren't there more incentives when buying from dealer stock? There is an Ohio dealer with two cars I want to check out. A reserve with the 2.0 fwd, has all the options I'd want plus the tech package. But it has the cap interior and the jade green outside which I'm not sure about. A select with the 3.0 fwd. has my desired options, but it has the 19" rims and the optional aluminum trim which I think cheapens the look of the interior. The matte wood with cap interior looks nice. The reserve is priced only 900$ higher than the select which sounds like a decent deal, if I could live with the 4 cylinder and the jade grey it might be worth considering. Need better than 3.9%/72 months though...
  13. I've got 7 months left on my 2014 Fusion lease. I'm anxious to dump it to get an MKZ but there are no early return programs to my knowledge. I'm a little frustrated with the inventory search tools. Lincoln's isn't detailed enough and doesn't let me search more than 100 miles from a geography. Auto Trader is limited and not all dealers use it. Is there something else I should be using? Here's what I want, I'm in Wisconsin but will soon be moving to Ohio. My wife may green light purchasing my MKZ so no compromises on my wish list: Reserve 3.0 FWD Terra-cotta interior, white platinum would be my first choice on exterior, but I'd take black or magnetic. Optional 19" rims. Base reserve wheels are hideous. I'd actually prefer the 18" rims, can a Reserve be ordered with 18"? I like the look and smoother ride. Cheaper sunroof Climate package Multi contour seats Revel upgrade stereo I've found two cars that are pretty close to the above but they have the cappuccino interior, which isn't bad. I think I like terracotta better. I've lived in snowy climates all my life and have always done fine with FWD cars on all season tires. Still I would appreciate you experienced MKZ owners to critique my selections and recommend any changes you might make. I'm xplan eligible and hopeful for a great deal. When might 0% on 72 months for 2017's be available? BTW how is your experience with the multi contour seats? If they aren't worthwhile I might as well forgo them, get the cappuccino interior, and downgrade to the Select model.
  14. Contemplating an MKZ lease the next few months. Can anyone weigh in on the quality of the base MKZ stereo? How is it compared to the base Fusion SE one? How does it compare to the Sony unit in the Fusion Titanium? I heard the "cheap" Revel system in the last MKZ I drove. It sounded decent but the bass rattled something in the door panels which was annoying. Hopefully that was unique to the one I drove. Just trying to decide if the Revel upgrade is a must. I'm an audio nut but I'm NOT buying the luxury package version. Thanks! First post!
