I have compiled the parts needed to do the swap on 2016 and prior mkzs. Including the screen, brain, USB hub, and programmer. I was going to put into my 16 but will likely be heading to a ranger in the next year or so... 4dtech wants $1500 plus tax... I'm asking $900.

So its been a while, forgot to update. Apparently they found that the embedded modem somehow was programmed to function irregularly and was drawing on the battery. they kept it for a day, gave me a nice rental and the next day was back to normal after flashing the program for the modem....

Yes they are both 8 inch wide rims... Should have mentioned that... 10 mm would be pretty negligible no?

Yes I did check into the specs and the Volvo wheels are the same centre bore, same bolt pattern however the offset is 45 vs the 55 that is on the MKZ. from what I have researched, this should be a negligible difference?

Very helpful! thanks very much! I use dedicated winter tires as well here, just in case so I would think that these will likely be a set that will suffice nicely for the summer. They are 1k only on them and with factory Volvo rims for $650.

So what is the difference between the p7 and the p7 plus? I have a chance at a set of p7 takeoffs at a good price... Thanks

I am having a similar issue with my 2016 MKZ.... although some differences. I got it at 16k KMS (Canadian) as a dealer demo, (new but driven buy a sales manager) it was fine until 3 weeks ago when the battery was dead and needed a boost (at 52K KMS) and it went in for the steering wheel recall and the trim pieces fading around the pano roof.... they tested it and it came out on the low side of okay and replaced the battery.... a week later, this morning dead battery again.... where is the drain coming from??

New battery eh? my 2016 just stranded me recently as the battery would not crank. roadside assistance provided a boost and tomorrow its going in to test the strength of the cells ( in addition to changing the plastic painted trim around the rear windshield that is peeling) Not impressed that a 2 year old car has these issues so soon.... Tow driver said there are way to many draws on these batteries these days....

So I am about due for replacement brakes on my 2016... what brands should I consider and what might be decent upgrades? drilled/slotted rotors? Nothing too huge and not really looking to change the calipers....modest improvements? Thanks,

They should project a solid clear oblong shape with the star in the middle. My 16 passenger side developed the pattern you are referring to and was replaced last fall. Now the driver side one is on order to be replaced too. In addition to the plastic trim pieces delaminating around the rear windshield and front of the pano roof... I am becoming increasingly unimpressed with a 2 year old car having these kinds of issues.

My 16 has had one piece replaced and the other 2 need it now... this is brutal on a 2 year old car... come on Ford....

Tried a search and didn't find anything... EDIT did find a thread in the 13-16 forum that a few in the north have had these pieces replaced. Still looking for more... My 16 has the pano roof and the plastic trim at the front of the roof that meets the front windshield as well as the pieces that run down the sides of the rear windshield have faded drastically in the finish and clear coat to the point that you can actually see the moulding mount points THROUGH them. Last fall the rear pass side one had such bad clear coat peel that it was replaced at the dealer. Now the other two pieces are fading bad as well. This seems VERY drastic to me on a 2 year old car. I will try to attach pics tomorrow. Any one experience anything like this?

My 2016 has this issue as well... though I could never nail it down to a routine... kinda just ignored it... good to know I'm not the only one!

yes don't buy from dealer, I got a set of 20 (minus the lockers) for like $30... M12 x 1.5MM is the size you want. Mine was for a 2013 just last year... they really don't make them very well any longer.

In addition to the 4dtech video there is another YouTube clip that speaks to installing to your system via forscan I believe... Innovation garage or something. Search sync 2 to sync 3 and he talks about the parts needed and installing.

I found a unit on Car-part.com, screen and module, comes in tomorrow. Will get the antenna and USB hub on amazon/ebay... far cheaper than 4D. Install will be another matter, I'm rather novice in that dept.... :)
