  1. I have to replace my catalytic converter on my 06 Lincoln Zephyr (the rear one near the fire wall). I can't find anything on the internet about how to..any one know how hard it is to do. And how to do it
  2. Ok will it still be m is firing though if I fixed the original problem.. ALSO can I still drive it. The cat is 400$ and I really don't have that until 3 weeks
  3. Well I did take it in they b said the 02 sensor is bad and also the cat. But my thing is I don't want to replace the cat if I didn't fix the misfire.. Is it safe to drive with a bad cat/02 senaor
  4. I swear I fix one code and than another pops up lol
  5. So it had a vacuum leak coming from the EGR valve it was stuck open. I Replace the EGR valve and no more leaks. Car is still misfiring and I'm getting some code of p0430. Something to do with bank2 catalytic converter isn't performing properly. I don't want to replace the 400$ cat and the misfire still be there.. What should I do
  6. I have a 06 Lincoln Zephyr it has 192k on it I bought it for 700$. It was was m is firing when I first bought it. I found out that cylinder 4 and 5 wire that connects to coil pack was bad. The wires were fried. So I replaced the two wires and also sent my PCM out to be fixed cause it was fried. Along with that I also replaced the EGR valve (it was leaking) all the spark plugs and also all the coil packs and also the air filter. Car runs better but it still is mis firing and also I am getting a check engine light of a p0430. I believe that's something to do with the cats.. My question is should i dish out the money to replace bank 2 cats? I don't want to pay the 400$ for a new cat. And it not fix the misfire. Any help thanks
  7. Nothing yet.. its hard to start when its cold out andd when its been sitting. But once started it will start back up qith no promblem.. havwnt figured out the po171 code, no money. Also im hearing clanking knoning noise coming from bank 1... it only happens when the car is first started cold. Goes away within 15-30 seconds.
  8. Thanks for you responce.. im not getting a misfire code just bank 1 being to lean... i replaced the gaskets in the intake manifold. I also sprayed every hose with carb cleaner and also the intake and all over anywhere there could be a leak, nothing. Im trying to replace the bank one oxygen sensor as we speak and see if that helps.. Also im doing a furl pressure reading tommorrow to see if there is a glogged injector or something.
  9. Ok so I got the pcm today. Put it in and everything is running ok.. now I'm getting a code of p0171 running lean I think. Now the engine is idling like Ime having a valve issue. Is it putting like that because of the engine code. Or is it that the valves might be sticking. The car was sitting for 8 months to a year
  10. Hey maybe you can help me out. What should the ohms be for the ignition coil connector from the harness. I surfed the Web and can't find the specs

  13. Ok they look new and you can't see the pins
  14. Ok well I sent the pcm out. Cost me 316. But I made sure they tell me if it was bad or not... if it's not bad I have know idea what to do..I literally went threw half of the wiring harness. The only part I haven't gone threw is where the harness meets the pcm plugs. If it's not the pcm I'm going to be stumped
  15. So you don't think cylinder 5 had anything to do with the promblem.. like I said before cylinder 4 wiring was messed up also
  16. I have no idea. But cylinder 5 wires messed up..and when I performed a spark test the spark was orange.
  17. So I took apart cylinder 5 coil pack wiring harness today. Well I found out that someone spliced the wires and twisted them together and taped them off smh. I took them apart cleaned them taped them off (separately) and connected the plug back in... now waiting for my pcm to get back. Do you think this is the issue I'm having. And why is it I was still getting spark from this plug.. even though when I did spark test the spark was orange.
  18. Thanks for the reply. Yes I bought 6 new coil packs in sparkplugs. There is zero spark going to cylinder 4. When I took tape off of cylinder 4 wiring harness the left wire fell off like I cut it ( which I didn't). Also there were three places where it looked like someone spliced into the wire. I cut the wire and installed a new wire and connector. Still got no spark. I check the resistance in cylinder 4 connector and it was about 11.3 ohms. Which was weird because all other coil packs connectors were at 6.4 ohms. Could this be because pcm was giving bad signal to cylinder 4 or does it mean I have a short in cylinder 4 wiring harness.

  20. I bought a 06 lincoln zephyr with 186k on it for 700 dollars. It had a misfire but I'm pretty good with cars. I get it back to my house and run the engine code and got a code of p0354. Ao.I replace all the spark plugs and wires, but the misfire still is there. So I go to cylinder 3 coil packs and I check the wire which was in really bad shape. I replace the wire and the misfire is.still there. I'm getting a reading of 11 ohms on my plug. I'm thinking the pcm is bad. Can anyone give me some advise before i shell out 300$ for a new one
