Setup my Lincoln Way app on my phone and connected the car today. I'm still trying to figure out everything it does but at least I got started with it.
I also had it back to the dealer today because they owed me a trunk lid adjustment. My trunk lid was misaligned causing a gap in the front driver side corner. So I had to drive a loaner today. They gave me a Ford Escape, which wasn't that bad, but it sure was nice to get back in my Mkz.
My trunk lid is now properly fit and I sure am starting to appreciate the Sync 3 controls. Definitely an upgrade.
Oh....and you should see the ridiculous price they are asking for my old 2014. I'm guessing it's going to be sitting there a while!
It might not sit as long as you think.. used car market is strong right now at least here in So Calif

Got a service coming up in a couple weeks and will show them the issue... I do use Apple Car play most of the time for my Nav.. But I am one of those people who has to have everything working right in the car regardless if its something I use or not.. Thank you for your replies

As far as I know, the update is out for 3.4
That did not fix the problem.. for me it only works after first start of the morning and even then it takes about 15 minutes of driving before it shows any traffic on the Sync Map.. Living in So Cal the traffic showing up is very import for me...

2020 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid...getting this message on my Travel Link intermittently. Audio and Movies show subscribed, all other travel link options are "not available". Get in the car the next day...all subscribed and work.
Just got off the phone with SiriusXM tech support and they said they are getting reports of this on 2019 and newer Ford autos...there is no fix from them...it is a Ford software problem.
Had my car at the dealer yesterday and they were clueless...their fix was to subscribe to Sirius audio.
So am stuck with a hit or miss on Travel Link.
Anyone else with this problem or any fixes??
Having the same issue with my 2020 3.0 ....I do have SiriusXm audio so that is not the issue... I noticed mine started acting up after my last Sync Update... called Sirius 3 different times and on 2 of those calls they also told me it was also a dealer issue.. I also did a master reset and did not fix the problem... going in for a service in a couple weeks and going to have my service guy look into it...I will let you know what they say..

Hi Robert. Well, it all depends on what you consider to be "normal". If driving aggressively/hard is normal for you, then no, don't do that.
Although we are not sure exactly all of what is being replaced, there is the chance there will be broken-in parts and pieces interacting with new parts and pieces.
Therefore, this is what I would recommend: Although it may be difficult, my advice would be to drive the car the same way Lincoln recommends it be driven when new. "Easy" (simply meaning normal, not hard) for the first 1,000 miles. Might that be a bit of overkill? Yes possibly. But why take the chance.
Obviously, it would not hurt to also ask the tech what his advice is. But either way, I would advise normal, non-aggressive driving for at least several hundred miles. With 14,950 miles already, that should not take long for you. ?
Let us know how you make out and good luck.
Finally got my car back.. they found metal contamination in the PTU fluid.. They ordered and replaced it.. no break in required, but as you suggested I will take it easy for a bit.. Thank you
-
Having the PTU replaced on my 2020 3.0 14950 miles... started a slight vibration and rumble a few weeks ago.. not my first MKZ so I knew something was not right... I thought it was a motor mount at first, but dealer test drove and they came the conclusion that it was the PTU .. part was ordered and should have my car back Monday .. Wanted to know if there would be a break in period for the PTU or can I just drive normally ?

Tried doing that but it would not let me because it was stuck in the middle of installing a file which I don't know how because I was not were I park my car and have Wifi.. So I tried a master reset and the whole thing just died black screen will not boot back up not even after letting it sit over night still the same, waiting on my service manager to call me as soon as he as a loaner coming in this eve.
-
Yes Sir I got it from the Lincoln site... I think I will do a master reset and start from with a clean slate..

Any one having an issue installing this Sync upgrade using a USB Stick... been installing upgrades since my 2013 and never had a problem ... I did noticed that its in the middle of an automatic update and that's been going on for a few days and that would usually upgrade over night .. any thoughts or suggestions ? Thank you

I just saw that it's almost 50 cents tax per gallon for Calif
Yes Sir, its about .53 cents .35 state and .18 from the feds.. station down the street from me went up .20 over the weekend from 3.69 to 3.89 for Super.. I do live close to the beach so gas prices are much higher and rarely pump gas there... its a mess

I discovered that the Lincoln warranty is reassuring.
Sunday afternoon, middle of the desert, 125 miles southwest of Vegas and the little orange gear warning comes on. "See owner's manual." Manual says nothing. Called Lincoln roadside service and talked to a nice guy in TN who wanted me to pull over and wait for a tow. NOT, on a Sunday afternoon, in the desert and 125 miles from the nearest dealer.
Kept motoring on till we had a pit stop. Shut down, put on my OBD2 reader, had zero codes after restarting and the wrench was gone. Can't imagine the pain if it had happened to some older couple with no automotive skills.
But, the warranty included sending a tow truck 125 miles to get us and bring us to the closed dealer on a Sunday afternoon.
Next glitch to figure out is why the warning came on and went off for tail lights. They all work.
I had the same issue on my 2017 going near the same area on my way to Southern Utah on the 15 I was about 80 miles south of Vegas ..I stopped open the hood did not smell anything, everything sounded and felt fine so I kept going it eventually went away after about an hour.. Did not happen on the way back the car had over 47k at the time could have been a glitch in the sensor, I do remember it was that long hill that gets up to 5000 ft elevation pretty quick so don't know if that had anything to do with it

Went and checked for an update on the owners site and it told me that I was up to date with 3.4.20136 I have a 2020 3.0 AWD..

I recall seeing and hearing that the torque vectoring was part of the system that reduces torque steer. That was about three years ago, early in the 2017 run. So what was being said was evidently wrong and from early reporting. Torque steer is a big deal and anything that can reduce it is a big plus.
I can tell you from experience that with the AWD its is not as bad as with out .. I had a 15 3.7 FWD and you really needed to hold on that was a wild stallion .. I had a 17 3.0 AWD and currently a 20 3.0 AWD..
there is some torque steering but if you are punching it hard enough to have torque steering happen then AWD will kick in and even things out quickly

Thanks. It is a beautiful car and drives like a dream. Ahead of its time in many ways as a 2015. Has digital tach and speedo, adaptive cruise control, lanekeeping and collision warning, front parking sensor, parking assist, and much more. Regrettably it does not support Lincoln Way or Apple CarPlay, which is sort of the hallmark of current 2020-2021 cars. Can't have everything. Synch 2 is not bad; I have been using it for years on our 2012 Ford Explorer (my former ride). From what I can see there is no practical way to upgrade the car to get those features. CarPlay would have been nice. Far from the end of the world, and as I said, the car drives and handles superbly and looks fantastic.
Congrats on your new car... It dose not support Apple Car Play in the normal way with but if you press and hold the Voice Command button it should go to your Siri on your phone if connected with Bluetooth and you will be able to text, make calls or even play your music... Enjoy

Hello, just purchased a 2018 MKZ Reserve... love it. When I open the sun screen prior to opening the panoramic roof, it opens very loudly, shaking/stuttering the whole time. It closes much more smoothly/quieter. Any thoughts?
I am having the similar problem with my 2020.. when opening the shade it makes a loud scraping noise like its going to rip, but it closes smoothly .. Also when shade is open it rattles every time I go over a bump.. I am going in for my first service the end of this week or next, waiting for my service guy to call back when he as a loaner for me... I will bring it up, but my main concern is them ripping apart the head liner to get to the shade assembly and then putting everything back together again .. Or they will just tell me that they can not replicate the problem.. Just a note I did not order the Pano roof, but Lincoln stopped taking orders for new MKZs and I was not able to build and order like my previous MKZs dont know if it was because of the COVID or just slow sales and the last production model and Lincoln just said that was it ... I will keep you posted on my dealer experience

Hi guys, I am now a first time Lincoln Owner, a 2014 MKZ 2.0 Turbo Ecoboost. Sunset Color. 44,000 miles.
I know I have a lot to learn. Name is Dave, nice to meet you///
Dave, welcome and congratulations ..
-
My 15 had a dead battery after 7 months and my 17 come up with a bad cell after 5 months ...
-
Having had 3 previous MKZs... My 2020 3.0 AWD with Pano roof has the arches .. They other models did not have the arches or pano roof, not a fan of the roof or the loss of space in the trunk ..only positive is they placed the trunk light in front of the arches and closer to the middle of the trunk so it dose not get covered up as much as the other models ..also rear window is smaller on the inside with pano roof
