A light tap on the accelerator pedal of the 'Resume' button.  I do both.  It was a leap of faith for me to let it stop on its own.  It takes some getting used to.  It's occasionally a little late and abrupt for my taste.  I would brake earlier on my own but it's still a great feature.

I agree. It took some getting used to but now I feel pretty comfortable using it. I usually use a tap of the reset button to get going again rather than the accelerator tap. I use the ACC most of the time. Lets you concentrate on road conditions without a lot of attention to speed control. Much more relaxing ride.

  2. I told my dealer that if they wanted to put one of their dealer ads on my car they will have to pay for it. They didn't even want to negotiate for a fair price. I don't believe they should expect free advertising. And they are a good dealer.

How do i run only on electric to see what mph it disengages? Mine runs on whatever it decides is best

Out on the highway just accelerate from 60 to 70 and then let up on the gas pedal and the car should switch to electric if you have the software update installed.

  4. Just checked mine and it reported the location as my home address which is correct as the car is sitting in the garage. Also tried a lock and unlock which worked okay. I'll try another location query tomorrow when it is at a different location.

  5. I have driven my 2017 MKZ Hybrid for 42,900 miles since purchase in August 2016 and have kept a log of each fill-up over that time. My overall calculated MPG is 42.7. I have summarized my data in monthly increments with the best month being 45.0 actual MPG and the lowest 39.9. Most of my driving has been rural commuting about 18 miles each way on streets/highways with mostly 45  MPH speed limits. I do not try any hypermiling and usually just set the adaptive cruise to the applicable speed limit and let the car/computer do the "driving". I have the climate control set to Auto all the time so don't worry about nursing a few more tenths by not running the AC.These commute trips I drive provide excellent mileage stats with the best single tank fill-up being logged at 47.2 MPG. On occasions when I have taken trips on interstates with 70-75 MPH speed the mileage drops significantly with the lowest single tank fill-up being logged at 34.7 MPG.

  6. Great choice - enjoy your MKZh. Much classier than a Prius.

I routinely get 42-44 mpg in mine . I just drive normally, usually using ACC and enjoying the ride. No need to try "hyper  " miling.

  7. I have friend with a Lexus RX that says its usually $250+ every time it goes in for an oil change. The last service was $1300 which included a new set of tires at 35k miles.

My friend couldn't believe my $50 or less service charge for oil change, filter, tire rotation, etc.

I always get a car wash too. In fact my salesman said  to come in anytime and see him if I needed a car wash and he will get it done for free.

What button?  I push on the fuel door and it opens immediately.

Not on my 2017 MKZ Hybrid, pushing on the fuel door does not open it. There is a button on the driver's door panel that you push to open the refuel door. It does usually take 3-4 seconds for the door to pop open.

  9. I have no verbal route information. When I select a destination, Sync asks me to proceed to the designated route and then obey the navigation commands. The problem is I get no navigation commands beyond the intro message . I cranked up the volume during the intro message but once under way I get nothing. Have not had time lately to take it to the dealer but will in a week or two. Anybody else experience this issue?

On one occasion I had to look at the display to see where the next turn was and while looking the car in front of me suddenly stopped. The collision warning system activated and alerted me and saved the day.

  10. Had my service appointment today.

A few days ago I decided to try the push button and after holding it down the mirrors clunked and then started to fold normally. the auto fold and unfold then functioned normally. I told the service advisor what I had done and things were back to normal. They did check for any error codes but found none. They did write up a report about what happened and advised me that should it happen again, if possible, go to the nearest Ford/Lincoln dealer immediately and have them check it out before anything else is done.

At least I have an official dealer's  report documenting the original problem of folding while underway.

  11. It has happened twice to me in my 2017 3.0 AWD.  First time I had just entered a highway and the mirrors folded.  I was able to push the button and they unfolded.

Second time was this morning after I started my car the mirrors folded back (they weren't folded when I started the car as I leave it unlocked in the garage), I used the button to manually unfold them before backing out of my driveway.

Starting to be a concern for me.  If it happens once more I am going to take it in for service.

DeeCee, please post back with an update after they service yours.

    Will do.

  12. My 2017 MKZ Hybrid has auto, power folding mirrors. They fold when you exit the car and lock it. They unfold when you get back in the car and start.

I had an issue with the folding mirrors when shortly after entering a busy interstate highway, the mirrors suddenly folded. In my opinion this is a big safety issue. Try driving on a busy interstate at 70MPH with no side mirrors! I was able to safely exit the interstate and once parked, I tried several restarts but the mirrors stayed folded. I finally had to manually unfold the mirrors and fortunately they remained in the usable unfolded position after that. They no longer fold when the car is locked. I have an appointment with the dealer next week to have them checked and repaired. When I made the appointment at the dealer, the service advisor said that this is the first they have heard of the mirrors folding on their own while the vehicle is being driven. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

  13. Just got to 10,000 miles and my actual fuel mileage at this point is 42.2MPG. My previous car, a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid was 44.6MPG after its first 10,000 miles and the lifetime MPG was 45.7 at 63,000 miles when I traded for the MKZ Hybrid.
