  1. The AWD system on the MKZ is always active. The AWD and traction control system are totally independent from each other. Although, the PCM puts load on the front wheels first and then the rear. I believe you're referring to the "AUTO" mode in most 4x4 vehicles. In this system when slippage is detected the PCM sends a sign to the TCCM, which in turn tells the transfer case to engage and send power to the non-slipping axle. This is not the case on the MKZ or any of Ford's current AWD systems.

Since I only drive my MKZ in dry conditions, I can't answer your other question. Hopefully others will chime in.

  2. The vehicle will not travel when started remotely without the fob. There is a way to drive the vehicle without the fob, but I'm not giving that info out on public forum. Most people figure it out by accident.

If you have a concern with the remote start feature, you can disable it via the drivers menu.

  3. This is a common problem with Ford's capless filler system. You either have dirt of grim stuck in the inlet or your vent tube is clogged. Hopefully it's not the latter as that requires the tank to be dropped.

Go on YouTube and look up "FordTechMakuloco Ford Capless Fuel Filler Maintenance"

  4. If you're mechanically inclined, I would suggest adding meshing to your cabin air inlet. You can use wire meshing or simply screen door meshing. You can use black flush mount bolts/nuts or a high strength epoxy.

If memory serves me, the blower motor on the 13’ is somewhat accessible from the bottom of the dash on the passenger side. If you have patience and a little flexibility, you should be able to drop the assembly and clean whatever is floating around in there.

    Good luck!

  5. The two way communication from the on board modem to the remote server is not live. Meaning, it doesn't update to the second. I'm assuming when you saw the 53% it was from an older update. Once the modem resent data to the server it refreshed at 47%.

    No need for concern.

  6.

Cool tnx PJ -- mine was updated/installed (with V2.2) Feb 9th when it was built ...... LOL I hope it's just as "stable".

I see you have a new MKZ PJ -- did it come with V2.2 also?

No need for concern, v2.2 is a stable release. It's just not available to the masses quite yet.

I'm still on v2.0 and according to the Z, I'm up to date. Since my Z was built back in July, it came loaded with 2.0. Yours was build 7 months later, so you got v2.2 right out the box.

  7. After doing a 'Master Reset' to get a sync update, Lincoln Way (on cell) says I have to wait 24hrs for reauthorizing to reconnect to sync.

Is that so or will it reauthorize automatically?

    tnx.

There's a PIN for SYNC that needs to be paired with your device when you use Lincoln Way. If you do a reset on SYNC or your mobile device, a new PIN must be authorized and usually takes 24 hours. This process will not happen automatically.

  8. I don't have mine in my hot little hands yet but I was considering doing a 35 on the tails (I will have to do further eval once the car is in my hands).

I am going to run 20 on the rear window and rear doors and 35 on the front doors

This will be on a midnight sapphire blue car

Did you every follow through on this?

Looking to do this to my Z, which is the same year and color as yours. Curious to see how it turned out.
