  1. Just an update after months... Took it to dealer. They decided to replace the TCU and then everything worked again for a while. Winter is here so I went to use remote start --- and nothing. App has stopped working again. Modem number is blank again. Guess another appointment with the dealer. All fixes seem to be temporary.

  2. I had Ceramic Pro done to my car. It is amazing. I just got the car back, I'll post pictures when I get time to take them... The car feels different, and looks shinier. I'm very happy with the results. Should be a so much easier to keep clean and looking great.

  3. I think only once have ever had connectivity problems and I plug my phone in almost everytime (Android phone, however). That time I just had to wait little longer and then it worked. I use sync and Android Auto, but mostly Android Auto. I usually plug the phone in before starting the car...

  4. I think I've seen maybe 3 total on the road since I started driving mine at the beginning of this year. Still not very popular around here, but the Lincoln dealerships are small (the 2 within 30 miles of me are both ford dealerships with small Lincoln sections). But I see dozens of ford fusions weekly :)

  5. Tops for me would be (not necessarily in order):

    1. Heads up display
    2. 360 degree camera
    3. Improved transmission (8 or 9 speed)
    4. Better wheel selection
    5. Ventilated back seat option
    6. Better app (ability to see more info about car, ability to control more things)
    7. Wireless charging
    8. Camera Rear view Mirror like on many of cadillacs (especially useful win panoramic sunroof is open)

All this is icing though... Love the car.

  6. I second that. I do like the dark tinted highlights on non-black MKZs. That is why I like my black paint so the normal red tail light and reflectors have better definition on thier own.

I'm not a fan of all-blacked out cars personally, so I skip tinting on black cars.

I don't like everything all blacked out either... So I understand that. If I had gotten the black one, I definitely wouldn't darken the tail light. The red looks sweet on the black, IMHO.  I do like to always tint my windows, but that is partly for functional reasons, not just looks.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll add that to the list of enhancements.

  7. Thanks. What do you guys think about tinting the tail light? I go back and forth with whether or not it would look better on my car. I wouldn't go all the black, I'd keep it legal. Other than that, my only other plan for the car is a ceramic coating sometime in the next few months.

  8. Well, I'm 5 months in and still loving the car. My primary aesthetic complaint was the stock wheels. I now have found and installed new wheels. And I also tinted the windows. Wheels are 19" Niche Misanos, with the barrel custom painted to match the car (it is subtle, but looks better in real life than in pics, especially with the car moving).

  9. The Telematics module (TCU) might need a reset. I had similar issues before, and a reset help fixed everything.

If you go under your network information (shows things like latest Sync 3 version) etc. does the modem's number appear? If it is blank, then it somehow got "disabled".

You can take it to the dealership, but FORScan is able to help reset it if you have a scantool device that accesses HS/MS-Canbus networks.

The modem number is indeed blank. I'll have the dealer fix it soon...

  10. I haven't used the app too much, but I did use it successfully for a while. Over the last month the app has not been able to remotely do anything with the car. It no longer updates gas level, remotely lock or unlock car - doesn't even display updated mileage or oil levels anymore. It gives me a failure message when I try to unlock or lock. I've logged out and logged in, uninstalled and reinstalled the app. No change. Any ideas? Anyone else having this problem? This is on a 2017 MKZ...

  11. I lnow what you are saying. My Fusion windows had to be reset constantly. This is a differerent issue. It looks like the window is slightly misaligned. When it reaches the top it heads back down again about two thirds of the way. If I roll it down all the way you can still see a little bit of the window. It doesn't go all the way down

I have an appointment on Tuesday. Get to try out the pickup and loaner program:)

Hope you get it fixed. Mine went up to the top and came back down using the auto setting and yours sounded similar so I was hoping this would work for you as it did for me. Good luck.

  12. I have enjoyed the seats, but I have found the adjustments make all the difference. My CTS seats that I'm coming from where very comfortable and plush. These I had to spend some time adjusting to get right for me, and there are a number of adjustments that I didn't like... But now I'm good and I really enjoy the seats.

  13. Well I had my first real issue today. The front passenger window is misbehaving on the auto setting. If I try to roll it all the way up by pressing the power window and letting go, it rolls up and then comes back down about two thirds of the way. Very weird. Luckily, I can roll it up by not pressing the button all the way and holding it until the window is up.

I had this problem on my front drivers side window. I think it is somewhat common with some ford vehicles. You can try resetting the window (this worked for me). With the window starting all the way up, hold the window switch to move the window down. Keep holding it for a few  seconds after it is all the way open. Then close the window by holding the window switch up and hold for a few seconds after it is all the way closed. See if that fixes it.
