  1. I don't have the 2013, but I could see how shortest route would often avoid freeways. Freeways (depending on where you are) are often faster, but not shorter. You may want to turn off the always use preferred route if you have it as shortest, and/or change your preferred route to fastest.
  2. I think I put my order in in late July/early august and got my MKZ 12/31. You guys are got it good... :)
  3. I went black label, pretty much fully loaded including panoramic roof and drivers package, 3.0T AWD. I also have the vineyard interior which I love. Great car!
  4. I'm interested to. Thinking about doing this on my chroma red cabernet mkz. Tinted the windows already, and planning on getting some black wheels. Thought this might go well with the look...
  5. I believe mind had somewhere in the high 20s of miles as well... Congrats on the car! I'm a couple months in and still loving mine...
  6. I think the limit is 30 or 35 here in WA for sedans. I put 15% on MKZ. I've always tinted my cars. One car I did go legal and I didn't like it. All other cars have been 20% or 15%.
  7. Hope you get it fixed. Mine went up to the top and came back down using the auto setting and yours sounded similar so I was hoping this would work for you as it did for me. Good luck.
  8. I have enjoyed the seats, but I have found the adjustments make all the difference. My CTS seats that I'm coming from where very comfortable and plush. These I had to spend some time adjusting to get right for me, and there are a number of adjustments that I didn't like... But now I'm good and I really enjoy the seats.
  9. I had this problem on my front drivers side window. I think it is somewhat common with some ford vehicles. You can try resetting the window (this worked for me). With the window starting all the way up, hold the window switch to move the window down. Keep holding it for a few seconds after it is all the way open. Then close the window by holding the window switch up and hold for a few seconds after it is all the way closed. See if that fixes it.
  10. My personal opinion is that it is very good, but not great by what I've done to some of my previous cars with aftermarket solutions. Part of that is due to limited control of audio systems settings. But for a factory system it is very good. Suffers most to me on bass (especially low end), but I would expect that from any factory system compared to systems with custom built sub enclosures. I can't compare it to the lesser expensive option as I've never heard it. If you don't listen to music with heavy low end bass I think this system sounds clear and excellent through high volumes.
  11. I ordered my MKZ. I was able to get the dealer to honor an incentive that was available when I ordered the car. They should also give you any incentives available when you take ownership of the car (I did and that was specified in my order contract). So there could be a bit of unknown when it comes to incentives when you order a car. If you aren't in a hurry, I think it a good idea to order the car exactly as you want it. Also, I bet you could negotiate with the dealer to change the 19" wheels to 18", or you could do that after the fact and sell your 19s. When I bought my previous car, I decided to change the wheels to aftermarket about a month after I bought the car and I sold my stock wheels back to the dealer (at a discount because they weren't new anymore). But had they had wheels I wanted when I bought the car, I probably would have just negotiated the change in... I could "live" with the 2.0, but the 3.0 makes a huge difference and I'm glad I have it everytime I drive. Be sure you are willing to make that tradeoff if the 3.0 is what you really want.
  12. The Multicountour seats are a personal preference. They are nice and I like them, but I'd probably have been fine without them. But now that I have them... I think all the wheels are hideous at worst to okay at best. Going aftermarket on my wheels soon, but the bolt pattern and 19" size (I don't want to go bigger or smaller) limit my selections. I've only had the car in the winter, but I think I will really enjoy the panoramic sunroof in the good weather, but that's another one that probably easy for many to live without. It's more important that you know how to drive in snow than whether or not you have AWD or FWD. I got the AWD to help lessen the torque steer and get more torque and power out of the engine. Bad weather handling was only a minor consideration for me. I love the heated steering while (I think from the climate package?) and use it pretty much everyday right now. My kids love the heated back seats :). Just my thoughts since you asked :). These are all personal preferences. Overall it just a good car and many of the options are just about what is worth it to you.
  13. The Jaguar XE was one of the cars I cross shopped with the MKZ. The only thing I really liked more about the XE was one of the red/black interiors, the british racing green color, and the wheel selection. So I am now driving and MKZ. Everything else (size, engine, infotainment, sunroof) I liked better in the MKZ. Good to hear another confirmation.
  14. IT Professional now. Also worked in social services, been a college instructor, a financial planner...
  15. I don't like the wheels either and I have them on my MKZ. I have some aftermarkets ordered... But they have been delayed for quite some time. Can't wait to swap out those wheels. As for the color, it is unique, but I'm not a fan of that color brown for the exterior of a car.
  16. I've still only got a few fillups - but I'm getting around 16 miles per gallon, almost all city driving so far...
  17. I have a Black Label MKZ with all of those packages. For Me I wanted all of them. I like to have my sunroof open and the panoramic glass roof is amazingly large. But if you aren't into to sunroofs you can skip that one. The car is pretty quiet. There is noise accelerating but with the V6 it is a good noise. I would not have been interested in the car without the V6 or the AWD as I was looking for a car with good power but I didn't want torque steer. The city gas mileage might be a shocker to you coming from a hybrid. I look the stereo system and LED headlamps are great (Luxury package), and this is my first car with a heated steering wheel (climate package) and that has been great this winter!
  18. Well, I think I found a some wheels and a solution finally. Hopefully I'll have the wheels done and on the car in 2-4 weeks. I have to order the wheels so we'll see how fast I get them.
  19. I've pretty much only been doing city driving (fair amount of stop and go) and as I complete my first tank of gas I think I'm going to be around 14-15mpg :(. Granted it is winter driving, and the car is far from broken in, but I hope it improves. Dealer probably put 87 octane in it too...
  20. Yes. But it is much more difficult to powderoat select parts of a wheel than to paint select parts.
  21. Yeah, I was either gonna go black or with the Cabernet. My Caddy was black, so I decided to go with something different this time (and my minivan is black too). Took a bit of a chance, but it is nice to have something different. I'm sure I would have been happy with black however. I will take good care of the paint. I keep my cars pretty pristine and new looking throughout their life. Plus, I don't really put that many miles on my cars because I take the bus to work. I don't mind the lug nuts showing, depending on the wheel. Although, all aftermarket wheels I've previously bought had centercaps that covered the bolts. Its really just the overall look for me. I had found some wheels I wanted and was making specifications on how I wanted it painted and I ran into a snag. Of course I knew the cost of the exact paint to color match would be pricey, but it was even pricier than I thought. But the real problem was the application process for the paint, the guy I was working with on my wheels said he didn't think he was skilled enough to follow the paint application instructions, and that I'd probably need to take it to a collision/body shop to get the wheels painted. So I'll need to look for a simpler non metallic paint that is close in color and talk to a body shop for more research. I may end up just going with black aftermarket wheels.
  22. What kind of gas mileage are people getting with this engine? I've only put 100 miles on mine almost all city driving, but I'm curious what to expect from real driving, not ratings. Thanks.
  23. Not sure of the exact wheel yet, but it will be something like black wheel with simple spokes (maybe 5-8). Then I'll probably paint the inner lip the same color as the car. Gonna stick with the same size wheel (19") as I don't want to decrease the ride quality and I want to try and avoid buying new tires.
  24. They are okay, but not really my style. I have never kept stock wheels on any car I have ever owned... I like to go with aftermarket wheels I pick. I'm probably gonna go with a gloss or matte black wheel, and possibly color match parts of the wheel with the color of the car. The bolt pattern this car has limits my selections a bit, however.
  25. Thanks everyone. Having not seen the outside or interior color in person when I ordered I definitely took a chance. But I'm happy with the results. It was a long wait but I'm happy now... Next up, breaking the car in, changing the wheels, and tinting the windows... The biggest thing I have to remember is to lock the car when I get out! I've been driving cars that autolock for years. I didn't see any option in the manual where this car automatically locks when you get out of if after a certain period of time. That's actually a bigger adjustment for me than not having a shift knob.
