  1. I bought a DVD Service manual for all FORD Products for 2014 for pretty cheap on ebay about a year ago. But for that price I have to change the date on my computer back to close to the month it was issued to use it. Dang easy trick to save a bundle on the disk. Only thing it doesn't have are the wiring diagrams.
  2. Overall mileage since I owned the '15 Z Hybrid 37MPG, best is 46MPG. Bought it June 2015 with 19.5k on the clock. Now at 23k. I am retired and don't drive much. LOVE the car.

Photo 3947 is a bad link.
  4. What I have heard and seen with all the new vehicles is that the original intake is plenty good up to 500HP. Those intakes with the oil on the fiber/rubber/foam screens do nothing but coat the MAF and really screw up your mileage and warranty.
  5. At the 1:12 mark in the vid you can see the little tab at the upper left of the box....similar on right but you can not see that one. Just push them both UP and pull down on the holder.
  6. YOu CAN do it the way you suggest - BUT -doing that resets all parameters and it will run crappy for a number of stop and goes.... it you had just let it go it would have reset after a bit of driving without the car doing a "relearn" of all the engine parameters.
  7. If you were in auto, the A/C prob WAS on.... I wouldn't worry about it - YET !
  8. It's still in the dealers lot...no one wants it!
  9. Have you looked at the Auto Zone site? You have to join to see the repair section, but it is free. Have you gotten under there to take a look??? It's usually pretty straight forward. My advise is to spray the exhaust bolts very liberally with a good penetrating oil like PB Blaster for a day or two before you do the job. Keeps you from breaking the bolts!
  10. Look arund the trunk...the sensor is prob real close to be NOT contacted when trunk closes.... adjust the switch a little higher.
  11. ...and then AGAIN when parts become available!!! :(
  12. Did you have the battery disconnected for storage? If so, it's in the "re-learn" process. Drive it for a few days with lots of starts - run a number of miles - shut off, cycles. Then see how it runs for you.
  13. oCo Been going on with FoMoCo products for a very long time. Had side windows replaced under warranty in my 2005 F250 back in 2006. The scratches re-appeared in 6 months.
  14. Am running pretty consistently around 37MPG overall. Just got back from a trip up to northern PA and back and averaging 37.7 on the lie-o-meter. Will check after a fill up and post after I get my FUELLY numbers..
  15. Just test it yourself!!! EZ ! Look here: http://www.samarins.com/glossary/purge-valve.html Lots cheaper to replace too - if you have to. Buy it at the parts counter. Better yet, from here: Both canister and valve is listed: https://www.carid.com/2013-lincoln-mkz-vapor-canisters/
  16. Nice numbers!! Exactly WHY I am turning in my 2012 VW Passat TDI - that and because VW defrauded us with the diesel engines and EPA numbers. I am now getting exactly the same mileage overall (37.1) with my '15 Z Hybrid than I have in he past couple of years with the Passat ! Calculated by "FUELLY" not the lie-o-meter on the cars. ( See fuelly.com) to keep your fuel mileage numbers on your (home) computer or devise.
  17. My '15 Z hybrid does not have 12v power with the ignition "OFF".
  18. Has anyone tried to use a Scan Gauge II on their MKZ Hybrid? If so, were you able to load any of the X Gauges into it to read any of the special Hybrid *PID's? * = Parameter Identification - as battery voltages, engine oil temp - etc.
  19. Does anyone here change their own oil? I have been changing my own since I was a kid and as a new owner of a '15 Hybrid I was looking for any do's and don'ts. On SOME previous cars I have been able to use a battery operated pump and stick a suction hose down the fill port or even the oil dipstick hole. I have noticed that you sure can not use the oil filler port as it dumps into the valve cover, not the oil tank. Haven't tried the dipstick hole yet but I'll bet it's pretty small. Comments, anyone?
