  1. For MY information: Can you still drive the car with a dead Lithium battery using the gas engine ?
  2. Anyone else have this CEL appear? If so what fixed it ?
  3. If y6ou don't mind me asking, w2hat's he gonna charge you for it? Is it gonna be '93-96 or a 97/98 ?
  4. I had this happen a number of years ago in my F250. Took it to the Ford dealer and they had to replace complete engine wiring harness. Covered by comp insurance. My problem was squirrels... tried lots of things before I ended up buying a pellet rifle.....
  5. Found the location and removed it. Couldn't blow thru the valve so put it back on.... code never came back. Canceled the appt with Lincoln dealer. Maybe it was just not tightened enough...whatever no longer a problem.
  6. Anyone know the location of the purge valve on the 2015 Hybrid?
  7. Beautiful here in Yuma...hit today was 82 !
  8. After 2 days the CEL came back...looks like I'll be finding out if my 6 year CPO warranty works. It will have to wait until I get back from vacation away from winter tho. Flying to Yuma, AZ on Tuesday.... 70's - 80's much better than 30's - 50's !!
  9. Went out this AM with my code reader and turned off the CEL. Open gas filler door and snapped the nozzle port door a few times. Drove the car to Docs appt and back (about 15 miles total) and no CEL ! Will wait and see ! ... OH! Found out that if a CEL is on you can not use the remote start function !
  10. Got a P0456 code on a CEL that came on last night on my 2015 MKZ Hybrid. Book says "Small evaporative leak". Anyone seen this before? Got a feeling it may be crud on the spring loaded fuel fill port. Haven't tried to clean it yet as weather sucks right now. Any ideas beside what I think ?
  11. I was just wondering if in reality that most ALL Takata bags are faulty and they (FoMoCO) is just stretching out the recalls so they'll be able to handle the problems. Sure wouldn't be the first time they've done it. It wouldn't surprise me. Guess I'll start worrying about it if/when my '15 gets a notice. Thanks for your answer. ?
  12. Has anyone heard what the difference is between the 2012 MKZ and the 2013-16's as far as the exploding airbags go? Do you know if the Takata Airbags are REALLY different in these years?
  13. This had been a Ford Motor Company problem for a lot of years. Lack of lubrication has always been the issue. The unhood mechanism HAS to be periodically lubed to realize long term use. Think the first time I saw this was back in 2005 on a Ford...don't remember model. Long screwdriver released it and it was evident it hadn't been lubed since the factory did it. One of the issues that happen when we think we know more than the local dealer on service.
  14. Thanks...it takes a bit to get used to the way the site is run. I did a dumb thing and ASSUMED that the "VIEW NEW CONTENT" would show all the MKZ forums.
  15. Retired after 20 in the airdale Navy (1975) then retired again (in 2006) after a sales/service career in Occupational Health equipment.
  16. Doesn't ANYONE post here anymore? Can't believe no one has anything to say about their Z Hybrid. Just about 10k miles on mine since purchasing in June last year....and still LOVE IT!! Thank you Volkswagen!
  17. It's a bit confusing, but I just registered. You just start with clicking on the Energ icon and go from there. Get all the info off the metal plate inside the drivers door on the B pillar - you need lots of it for the registration. Get your mileage too...
  18. Thank you... don't know HOW I missed that!!!
  19. I don't usually drive that far either but had an invite to a cabin in Maine I couldn't refuse. Drove from home (S of Baltimore) to upstate NY, then drove rest of way the next day. Was surprised that going north I had better fuel usage than coming back south. Must have been the lousy back-ups to get across the Hudson River in NYC.
  20. Earlier this year I was contacted by the makers of the ScanGauge to help them determine the PID's for the Lincoln Hybrid. They sent me a devise (2) to plug into the ODB port under the dash so it would collect the engine PID's. I did, and after they figured it all out, they sent me the special codes to plug into my ScanGauge so I could read all the same things the factory people can when they plug their electronics into the car via the OBD port. It is very interesting to watch the different gauges while running on the road.... here's a list: Description TXD RXF RXD MTH NAME Notes Battery Pack State of Charge (%) 07E4224420 C46245443620 3010 000100050000 SOC 4.22+ Required Positive Leakage Voltage (Volts) 07E4224422 C46245443622 3010 0001000A0000 PLV 4.22+ Required Negative Leakage Voltage (Volts) 07E4224408 C46245443608 3010 0001000A0000 NLV 4.22+ Required Contactor Voltage Negative (Volts) 07E422440A C4624544360A 3010 000100010000 CVN 4.22+ Required Contactor Voltage Total (Volts) 07E422442A C4624544362A 3010 000100010000 CVT 4.22+ Required Maximum Temperature Range (Degrees Fahrenheit) 07E4224404 C46205443604 3008 00090005FFC6 MAX 4.22+ Required Minimum Temperature Range (Degrees Fahrenheit) 07E4224404 C46205443604 3808 00090005FFC6 MIN 4.22+ Required Temprature Range (Degrees Fahrenheit) 07E4224404 C46205443604 4008 00090005FFC6 RNG 4.22+ Required Average Temperature Range (Degrees Fahrenheit) 07E4224404 C46205443604 4808 00090005FFC6 ATR 4.22+ Required Hybrid Battery Current (Amps) 07E4224462 C46245443662 3010 000100010000 HBC 4.22+ Required Hybrid Battery Pack Voltage (Volts) 07E4224468 C46205443668 3010 000100010000 HBV 4.22+ Required Battery Age (Units Unknown) 07E4224410 C46245443610 3010 000100020000 AGE 4.22+ Required Charge Power Limit (kW) 07E4224438 C46245443638 3008 001900010000 CPL 4.22+ Required Hybrid Battery Variation in State of Charge Between Battery Modules (%) 07E42244DA C462454436DA 3010 000100050000 BCD 4.22+ Required Hybrid Battery Variation In Voltage Measurment Between Battery Modules (Volts) 07E42244FA C462454436FA 3010 0001000A0000 BVD 4.22+ Required Hybrid Battery Minimum Battery Module Voltage (Volts) 07E4224404 C46245443604 3010 0001000A0000 MBV 4.22+ Required Hybrid Battery Average Battery Module Voltage (Volts) 07E4224424 C46245443624 3010 0001000A0000 ABV 4.22+ Required Hybrid EV Battery Charge Current Request (Amps) 07E4224406 C46245443606 3010 000100010000 CCR 4.22+ Required Hybrid EV Battery Coolant Inlet Temperature (Degrees Fahrenheit) 07E422440E C4620544360E 3008 00090005FFD8 CIT 4.22+ Required Hybrid EV Battery Energy to Empty Estimated (kW) 07E4224444 C46245443644 3010 000100050000 kW 4.22+ Required Minimum Module Temperature (Degrees Fahrenheit) 07E4227D01 C462057D3601 3008 00090005FFC6 MMT 4.22+ Required Delta Module Temperature (Degrees Fahrenheit) 07E4227D21 C462057D3621 3008 00090005FFC6 DMT 4.22+ Required Hybrid Battery Remaining Charge Time Estimated (%) 07E4229D76 C462059D3676 3008 006400FF0000 RCT 4.22+ Required Hybrid Battery Temperature (Degrees Fahrenheit) 07E4224400 C46205443600 3008 00090005FFC6 HBT 4.22+ Required The 4.22 and greater is the ScanGauge software required to be able to read these PIDs. All the gauges sold now have this version software (or newer). If you already have an older model if you send it in they will update the unit for you...there may or may not be a charge for this depending on how old it is.
  21. Sorry, double post.... couldn't even find the first one after 24 hours!! Kept it in "cruise control:" as much as possible! I was lucky...guess the downhills were longer than the uphills! I did kick off the cruise when going downhill so it wouldn't use the engine for braking..
  22. Recent trip to Maine from Maryland.... cars trip mileage says overall was 43.5 but hand calculation says a little over 42.... was getting well over 500 miles per tank. Much better than the VW Passat diesel that VW bought back from me and actually paid for this '15 Z Hybrid.
  23. Just got back from round trip from Baltimore area to Acadia Nat'l Park in Maine.... trip meter says total round trip was 43.5MPG ! Much better than the 2012 VW Passat Diesel I turned in for this 2015 Z Hybrid!!! After logging all the fill-up in FUELLY, they computed it to 42.2 overall.....guess Lincoln's trip meter needed to make it look a little better. I still ain't complaining!!!
