  1. Great news! You ordered a gorgeous car and here it comes!!
  2. Thanks! Have only tried Comfort and Normal so far. Will check out Sport over the weekend!
  3. Good point, jmcgliss. Grey skies do not show off Magnetic to its best advantage! The beauty of this color is the way the metalflakes light up in the sun.
  4. Well I picked it up today in the middle of a heavy rainstorm so I was just glad to get it home rather than taking the scenic route. Very quick impressions: 1. I think the Magnetic Grey paint color suits this car very well, and the Sonata Spin aluminum trim package that I chose matches the center console trim perfectly and looks great in the Ebony interior. 2. Although not at all the weather to try it out, I could feel the power of that sweet-sounding TT V-6. I look forward to dry pavement! 3. Overall the car feels more "serene" than the 2014 Cadillac CTS it replaces - the ride is less bumpy (CTS had those awful run-flat tires) and it's noticeably quieter. 4. I didn't think I would, but I like the pushbutton transmission selector! I think I'm going to be VERY happy with the MKZ, and the monthly lease payment is about $100 less than the CTS with less $ put down! If I can figure out how, I'll post a pic of it glistening in the sun:)
  5. Got it:) I appreciate that. I have to return my Cadillac to a GM dealer so I'll do that at Sarant where I bought it, and my wife will meet me there and drive me to Hassett. I live in Oceanside so I'll take the Wantagh south and the Loop Parkway home. That'll be a great first drive! :)
  6. Car came in about 3 weeks ago but I wasn't going to take delivery until after tax season so I will be picking it up this coming Tuesday the 25th. Can't wait! Something good came from waiting. There is now a "Competitive Conquest Bonus Cash" $500 incentive for which I qualify that knocks almost $15 off the monthly lease payment :)
  7. I ordered my '17 MKZ on Feb. 1st , 36 mos/10,500 mi. and the residual value used for the lease was 57%. I am a Ford Motor Co. stockholder and I got "X-Plan" pricing so no price negotiation was involved. To be honest I probably could have negotiated the same price or better without the "X-Plan" but I have concluded that it's not worth the effort to save what, $10 a month? As I have gotten older I have come to the conclusion that getting a "fair" price is good enough for me, I don't need to get the "best" price. My son is in sales and I hate it when he tells me about a customer who hammers him over the head to save $5 a month on the service he sells which kills his commission. Everyone's gotta make a living!
  8. If you want the blind-spot monitoring system, it only comes packaged with Nav. That package is optional on Select and standard on Reserve.
  9. My car has arrived at the dealership! I ordered it on Feb. 1st. I'm a CPA buried in tax season so I am not going to pick it up 'til after April 15th. I don't love the idea of it sitting around on the lot for a month but I will get no enjoyment from it at the moment. It's nearly 11 PM in NY and I'm typing this from work!
  10. Looks like Reserve is the clear favorite trim level! Drolds your car is gorgeous! Mine will be Magnetic too but I'm afraid I'm gonna have "Driver's Package Envy" if we ever get our cars together;-)
  11. I love everything about the Driver's Package, but I had continual problems with the low-profile tires on a 2012 Buick Regal GS with 19-inch wheels, so I gave it up.
  12. I ordered the Sonata Spin Aluminum Trim Package on mine w/ Ebony Leather. I like the "tech" look.
  13. Which trim level did you choose, and why? I went with Select (Plus) because I wanted the TTV-6 but did not want 19-inch wheels.
  14. Great news, Airflow! Big CONGRATS! Now you really have something to look forward to after tax season:) That is going to be an absolutely beautiful car! Like me, I see you didn't order a sunroof. Headroom issue? That was my reason. P.S. About a month ago you had mentioned a monthly lease payment amount. Did your deal improve since then?
  15. In 1999 I bought a brand new Chrysler 300M (at Bridge Chrysler in Hempstead) 6 miles from home. About 3 blocks from my house, a LOUD screeching started under the hood. I just made it to my driveway and the engine stopped. It was the serpentine drive belt. I called the dealer and they sent a flat-bed (with a Neon loaner) and brought my car to the service dept. where it was fixed the next day. My neighbors got a kick out of seeing my half-hour old car being towed away!
  16. Airflow did you ever order the MKZ you had spec'ed out a couple of weeks ago? BTW I keep meaning to ask you if your screen name is a reference to the Chrysler models of the '30s?
  17. Droids I'm excited for you! Can't wait to see picture of that beauty!
  18. Blackbr, since you have months to go with your Fusion lease, why not factory order an MKZ to your specifications? You'd get it in about 3 months which kills 2 birds with 1 stone...you get the exact car you want and have fewer remaining lease payments to deal with. I ordered a Select trim about a month ago, specifically because I wanted the 18-inch wheels and tires.
  19. Wow! You will be driving a SUPER-unique car there! What colors did you choose and which engine and options? If I'm not wrong you call sedans "saloons", correct? :):) Congratulations and Good Luck!
  20. Hey Droids, I ordered mine at Hassett on Feb. 1st. Hoping to pick it up right after April 18th (end of tax season - I'm a CPA). I drove past last night, they have an Ingot Silver Reserve on the showroom floor now - that Magnetic Gray one was there for a couple of months!
  21. Great to hear! What color inside and out, and which options/packages?
  22. Congrats, sounds beautiful ! Post some pictures ! What color interior did you get?
  23. Good deal! Your total payments will be about $3,400 more than mine after adjusting for the sales tax rate difference (mine is 8.625%). That's only about 34% of the $10K price difference so it sounds great! You're putting nothing at all down - not even the bank fee? I'm putting down the tax and license fees. Hope you go for it - that will be a gorgeous car!
