  1. That's how I feel when I drive my 400-hp 3.0TT V-6;)
  2. LOVE that color! Sorry they discontinued it for '17.
  3. I LOVE looking at my 2017 MKZ and just wanted to give "kudos" to Lincoln for making such attractive standard wheels. As I've explained before, I wanted the 18-inch wheels to avoid the pothole vulnerability of the low-profile 19-inch tires. With so many other makes of cars, the "base" model wheels are very unappealing - they appear small, not much to look at style-wise, and often painted a dull silver. Case in point - my previous car, a 2014 Cadillac CTS with standard (17-inch) wheels. I have a friend with a 5-series BMW with the base wheels and they do absolutely nothing for the car either. With the MKZ, the 18-inch wheels look well sized for the size of the car, have a bright machined-finish, dark premium-painted pockets in the current fashion, and have a very nice looking multi-spoked design. I don't think my car looks as if I "cheaped out" by going with the standard wheels, and I think Lincoln deserves credit for doing that!
  4. Beautiful car! Wonder why the original purchaser only kept it for such a short time? Or was it a dealer demo?
  5. Looks great, congrats! How many miles on it?
  6. Easyrider I agree with you 100% about the low-profile tires which is why I went with the Select trim level, for the 18" wheels.
  7. Today I heard a noticeable "humming" sound, although no vibration, at exactly 64 mph. It wasn't there at either 63 or 65! I simply avoided going 64 to solve the problem but I tried it several times and the results were consistent, :headscratch:
  8. I love that Luxe color! Good luck with it! I love my Magnetic but if Luxe had been available for 2017 I would have gone with it.
  9. You said "much of" what I said regarding the brochure is true. Which part wasn't? The 20-spoke 19" aluminum wheels as pictured in the brochure, and standard on Reserve models built earlier in the model year, were PAINTED Silver. Now they are PAINTED Magnetic. Nowhere were they described as "BRUSHED" aluminum other than in your posts here. Do you still disagree with what I am saying?
  10. Yes - the 2017 Lincoln MKZ brochure pictures them in silver, and refers to them as 19" Painted 20-spoke aluminum wheels.
  11. Easyrider, you do realize that the wheels you continually refer to as "brushed aluminum" are also painted - just like the Magnetic ones - only in a silver color.
  12. Funny...if I open my trunk even once a month that would be a lot!
  13. I think it depends on the color of the car. To my eye, every color except Platinum White and Palladium Gold would look better with the Magnetic-painted wheels. I think they look especially good on a Magnetic Grey car like yours!
  14. Yes, I very much liked the look of the split-wing grille on the 2010 MKZ that I (and you) had. I think that was the first use of that design?
  15. To my eye the '13-'16 front-end looks "droopy". I much prefer the more squared-off, "prominent" look of the 2017 front-end design.
  16. Great, enjoy! I'd love to see a pic with those new wheels!
  17. Oh so it's not ALL MKZs built within that time period. I misunderstood, now I get it. Thanks!
  18. Based on the manufacture dates, I suspect my Toyota Avalon "convert"'s brand-new MKZ will be subject to this recall. I can hear the "American cars suck" comments already...you can just imagine. Ugh!
  19. I'm waiting to see a Magnetic Reserve trim with the new Magnetic-painted wheels. I believe someone on this forum has one of those on order! On another note, I had a client stop by my office today to show me his 2017 MKZ loaner (his 21016 MKC is in for service). It was Black Diamond with the Driver's Package! He let me take it for a spin - those seats look and feel great, and the slightly firmer suspension compared to mine (both in "Normal") was very much to my liking! No regrets but I surely see the appeal of the Driver's Package.
  20. Magnetic/Ebony (same as mine!). Select 2.0/AWD w/single panel moonroof and all-weather mats as only options.
  21. The husband of someone who works in our office has a Toyota Avalon, which lease is ending. He was all set to get another one (without even considering anything else) when I suggested he look at an MKZ (she had seen mine and liked it). I hooked them up with my excellent salesman at my excellent dealership and they saw and drove it on Saturday, loved it, and made the deal! It's only slightly more expensive than they were paying, for a step up in prestige (but it is a step down in size). I am especially glad to get someone to switch from an import to an American brand!
  22. Sorry to hear about it but it seems to have turned out fine! Just curious, which wheel/tire size do you have ?
  23. Excellent points. In my case I'm paying about $100 a month less for a car that I like more! And I couldn't agree more, those run-flat tires on the CTS were awful in terms of impact-harshness on bumps. Absolutely ruined the ride quality!
