  1. Yeah at that price I might give plasti-dip a whirl myself
  2. It's actually not black. It's painted with"magnetic". The same as the body color (like a dark grey) You could probably order one direct from Lincoln. I doubt they have the same restrictions on the driver package parts as they do on the black label cars
  3. One thing I have noticed now even with just a tick over 150 miles is that as the ecu starts to dial in, it does seems to have gotten stronger. The other thing maybe not as positive is that under hard acceleration while the wheel is turned it starts to induce some torque steer (even with the drivers package). Just gives an idea of how much power is really there. I have noticed that I find that for my area. I have the settings in comfort for driving to work and what not. It really helps smooth out the post apocalyptic roads around the Detroit area (settings in drive) and have suspension in "sport" for S. Sport is great on the expressway tightens things up enough to play a bit, although on a road trip I may set it to normal for expressway just to soften things up a bit. I think comfort mode is a bit to "floaty" to feel really comfortable at speed. And one kind of neat-o whiz bang thing ... And I don't know if non-driver package cars have it. On the left Driver info screen, I have a selection for intelligent AWD and when displayed it shows the amount of power applied to each wheel. Kinda cool....
  4. It's a Lincoln. Kind of a red headed step child so to speak
  5. There have been a few review some Random you tube reviewers. But your right. Very little from the "big boys". I think a lot of it has to do with "it's just a new nose, same car" combined with the late availability of the 3.0.
  6. How old is the battery?? After about 3 yrs the battery in my Mazda (Panasonic battery) started to crap out. It would do all kinds weird things. Changed it out and was good to go
  7. Well picked it up today. I found a couple of small issues they have already ordered the fixes Just a scratch on one of the surround molding and a trim piece that didn't get snapped all the way down
  8. well it FINALLY showed up late this evening.... supposed to pick it up tomorrow night. I stopped by (since the dealership is close, it was pretty wedged in so could only get a partial pic...
  9. And that my friend is the jist of my displeasure with Lincoln right now. They are trying so hard to push the customer experience, yet at the same time they have an immediate sale and basically are telling that customer that "chance" sales from the dealer lot or dealer inventory are much more important. It like a big middle finger to one of the best brand ambassadors a company could have... Yet they treat them like crap and leave horrible taste in their mouths ... Sure the car may be awesome but am I going to recommend ordering a car? No flipping way....
  10. well i can tell you they are NOT delivering in order of build date... the MKZ that have shown up at the 3 dealerships have a date on window sticker almost 3 week later than mine. I did not find one with a date older than mine. by the way... they must update the stickers at some point... fact still remains mine is still an older date than the ones already in stock and on the lot see the attached stickers..... so needless to say ... i am on NOT happy camper. windowsticker.pdf windowstickernew.pdf windowstickerin stock.pdf
  11. I have checked the dealer inventory (mine wasn't a dealer order conversion, it was an actual special order) my dealer didn't order any driver packages. There are however 3 dealerships with a 20 mile radius and they have each receive 2 driver package cars along with other 3.0 awd cars. Longislander If I was waiting (which I did) for Lincoln tore lease the 3.0. Or for the train to arrive or clear customs or whatever that's one thing. But when my dealer calls and checks and they get the status "on transport" to dealer and I contact concierge and get the same status and the rail yard is 50 miles away AND there have been 40+ MKZ's from that train delivered to my dealership. It goes beyond the wait. Now we are on principle. Lincoln is trying to sell the "experience" almost more so than the car. And if this is how they treat a special order customer (which the dealership also knows that the car will sit on lot for less than 24 hours) then how are they going to respond to warranty claims etc.. It does not bode well. The other thing to this is that my dealer put the highest priority on it that they could (which should tell the logistics crew that no matter what, it should have been on the first hauler to that dealership, since that what the dealer requested via priority)
  12. ok so here is where it stands... my car still has not made the 50 mile trek from Flat Rock in a week.. There are 3.0T's with and with out drivers packages that have been showing up at the dealer lots since tuesday (train arrived on Monday) My dealer is frustrated as hell... at this point... I may NOT end up with a Lincoln at all... they may just end up keeping the car. If this is the "Lincoln Experience" I want NOTHING to do with it
  13. If yours was on that car it is already unloaded and was released from flat rock. Maybe he meant July 28?
  14. If your car was in Flat Rock on Monday, that would have been the same train that my car and I think Grey's car were on. (definitely my car) and Mine still hasn't made it to Troy (50 mile trip) at that pace you may not see yours until september. yeah, the late release was one thing, and i expected it. The train trip was anxiety inducing at times (3 days beating around chicago), all be it understandable. However the dealership get "dealer stock" 3.0 awd's and mine not being there (mind you the salmon AND sale manager have been great and i think are about as frustrated as I am.
  15. Thats Awesome Man!!!!! Mine is still AWOL. so looking like it will be next week, since I will be out of town saturday and they are closed on sunday. I have asked the sales manager to have the regional rep present when I take delivery. ABSOLUTELY unacceptable to have a special order car (cash already paid by me, dealer will or has paid invoice) sitting on a ramp for over a week and delivering "dealer stock" cars (dealer will or has paid invoice on) I have few other things I would like to suggest also. Like the whole "black label" thing. I would love to and would pay good money for the "extra inspections" and the other black label perks, but IMO the BL "themes" for my taste are god awful ugly. Why not have an "option" for BL service, put special badges on it or something, then it goes through the BL process with a "disclaimer" that material quality will be what you selected but then "fit and finish" should conform to BL standards.
  16. So evidently my car is traveling from flat rock to Troy via los Angeles. Because it still isn't at the dealership, we are now in excess of 3 days that it's been on the hauler in transit to dealer
  17. Yeah have been in contact with the dealer. My salesman is watching every truck that comes in. He even stayed late last night because a hauler showed up as they were closing and he saw a blue car on there. He waited until they unloaded it to see if it was mine ... It wasn't. He said they have gotten over 40 mkz' sin over the last 2 days
  18. i am a bit bummed currently.... mine has been 'On truck for delivery to dealership" since yesterday morning and it still isn't at the dealership (btw flat rock to troy is approx 20 WHOLE miles)
  19. Salesman called today. My MKZ arrives at the dealership tomorrow and I will take delivery Thursday evening!! Woot
  20. Well rail car ETTX710354 has been placed at customer location Flat Rock, MI at 8:32am July 18
  21. I got the standard tire (not summer) and it is the 245/40r19 Looks like the only way to get a 45 profile is with the 18" wheel or Black label with drivers package
  22. If your looking for the carpeted ones. I would most likely suggest Lincoln. If your are looking for all weather. I would suggest weathertech I have been able to find some nice oe ones before used in eBay. There may even be some aftermarket ones that specifically fit the Z on there
  23. Grey, just curious are you located in MI? Sounds like our cars are on the same train. Last tracking status I got from m the rail at tracking was Thornton junction (outside of Chicago) at 1:00 am this morning. Not sure where the unload ramp would be (possibly flat rock) which would only be about an hour drive on the truck. Fingers crossed for midweek delivery here
