  1. I have an update and solution to my problem. I did end up going to the dealer and they connected it up to the computer. The SJB was checked and updated, but that did not solve the issue. Great bunch of guys at this dealer as they worked with me and helped me walk through the problem together. The computer was saying the issue was at C510, which they showed me on the diagrams was referencing the door wire harness connection at the A pillar. That all checked out so they brought up the wiring diagrams for the harness for both 06 and 07 and we walked through them for differences. Apparently the 06 has an additional wire going into pins 18 and 19. We referenced back those wires in the diagram and its related to the radio. Brought up some additional wiring diagram as we traced out those and of course those tie into the instrument cluster and other sections. We stopped at that point and realized that's the issue. I believe 2007 was when satellite radio was first offered, so that changed the wiring related to because tracing out the wiring diagrams between 06 and 07, it all started to get different when you hit the radio section. The guys were great and printed everything out for me for future reference. They asked if I still had the original wire harness from the 06 doors. I did. They said swap that in and hopefully that should solve your issue. I finally got around to getting the wire harness off the old door and swapped into the new (current) door. Which was "fun" as it meant dealing with the window regulator system. I found the instructions for the window regulator on this site (THANK YOU ALL) and the harness swap wasn't too bad. Put everything back together, reconnected the battery, started the car and BINGO, everything was back to normal. So in the end it was 2 different wires related the radio on the harness that was my issue.
  2. Thanks, much appreciate the help. I will give that a try. If it doesn't work, I'll try posting at that other site (can't hurt). But from everything you said, unfortunately, I think I am going to end up at the dealer. The one positive, I have learned more about the electronic workings of the car.... these are the days where I appreciate the '74 F100 :-) Thanks again!
  3. Originally I did not swap the DDM. Just took off the original 06 door and put on the 07 door. After the "weirdness," I did swap the DDM from the original door into the new door to see if it made a difference. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to help. The battery is newer, maybe a year old at this point. All in all, not outside the realm of potentially being a weak point though. I am hoping the SJB is more "confused" than damaged. Do you think an extended battery disconnect might help "reboot/relearn" things with the original DDM now in place? Or are things pretty much pointing to a dealer visit? Much appreciate the reply and information!!!
  4. Hello- new to the forum. I recently acquired a low mileage (58,000) 2006 Zephyr from an older gentleman as a secondary car. The car is in great shape for the most part, everything works great, the only thing was some minor damage to the driver side doors. Apparently he "rubbed paint' (now no longer driving) which put some minor dents on the front and rear doors around the B pillar. I have been driving it for a couple months and finally decided to do something about the doors. I was able to pick up full doors off of a 2007 MKZ for a decent price and did the swap over the weekend. Credit to Ford engineering, the swap was simple and easy. The problem I ran into was when I reconnected the battery, started the car to check everything and then the weirdness started. Brake light is on (brakes are fine, parking park isn't on) Oil light is on (oil is fine) Highbeam indictor is on (even though head lights aren't on) Shift Interlock engaged (so I need to insert the screw driver to get it out of Park) Turn signals are in the "stealth mode" (they work on the outside, but zero lights or clicking sound inside) Trunk pop switch doesn't work New driver door, (used original interior panel) all window switches work and window lock switch works, but door lock switch does not. Seat memory switch doesn't work Power mirror- works for driver mirror, but not passenger mirror Key fob locks 3 doors but not driver door (locks new rear door, not new driver door) Random weirdness- Friend of mine thinks it's related to the keypad on the door/security stuff and it's all confused. I am not so sure, but I don't really have any better ideas either. Any help greatly appreciated!
