SteveB_TX got a reaction from philld in Hybrid MPG
Don't expect 40+ at 80 MPH.  The sweet spot is 62 MPH.  That is where the EPA number comes from... on a flat road... no headwind... perfect temp... you get the point.  The highest I have achieved is 39 MPG on a 1200 mile cross country trip.  I was happy to get that since my SportTrac gets 21 highway on a good day.  :)  And yes, going downhill at 75 the MKZh will enter EV mode, but will not stay there for long.  I knew going in that the EPA numbers of 45/45 would be hard for me to get since I live in Texas... Uber Hot in the summer and freezing in the winter (was a high today of 19!).  Using the A/C or Heat keeps the engine running more often, therefore cutting down the MPG.  I wanted a car that looked good, had a classy and comfy interior, and got descent MPG.  The MKZh filled the bill nicely.  I love my MKZh!  :)

SteveB_TX reacted to 4N1M4L in Park aid system disable
So for about 3 years, my park aid system (rear sonar) has been busted. The car reminds me every start up. The module registers a fault in the speaker circuit, but the speaker ohms fine. finally on a whim I pulled the side rear seat pillar thing that the module lives behind and unplugged the connector. I no longer get an error message in the message center and blind spot still works fine. For me the sonar was kind of redundant anyways since I relied on my camera more anyways. So in a way, fixed!

I still love to look  :flirt:  at my 2013, even though I have had it now for over 4 years and 33,000 miles.  I too am in love   with my car.  (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)   ;)

I have never been particularly loyal to a car brand.  I typically would go to the Atlanta Car Show and sit in all the cars and then go out and buy something that was interesting to me or that I felt particularly drawn to at the show.

That is what got me into a 2013 MKZ-H (my first Lincoln). I loved that car so much, when it was time to trade in my Wrangler a couple years later, I got a 2015 MKC 2.0.   That was the first time in my very long life that I had every owned two cars of the same brand.

I traded in my 2013 MKZ-H on a 2017 MKZ 3.0TT.   That is the first time in my very long life that I have ever traded in for the same model.

I would say that is love...

I love mine too.  I had 3 Lincoln LSes and loved them all. After the demise of the LS, I moved on to the MKZ.  I had a 2010 and a 2012 with the Sport package and then a 2014.  I would have ordered the 2014 with the handling package but it only was available with summer tires.  They were all enjoyable to drive but the 2017 with the Driver's Sport Package is the first one that I feel is a worthy replacement to the LS in terms of ride and handling. And while the LS V8 was a lively performer in its day, this 3.0T would walk away from it   I look for excuses to drive it, just I like I used to do with the LS.

2 months and 2,000 miles into my MKZ and I simply could not be happier! I absolutely agonized over every choice I had to make when it came to ordering my car (mainly whether to get the Driver's Package - I didn't because of the low-profile tires) because it's so important to me that I LOVE my car. In this case I feel as if I hit a grand-slam home run! The look and colors both inside and out, interior comfort, the ride-and-handling balance, and probably most of all the feeling of effortless power make every drive, short or long, a thrill. I still go down to the parking garage at work several times a day just to look at it:)
Coming out of a 2014 Cadillac CTS, I expected to feel as if the MKZ was a bit of a step down - so many articles point to the shared Ford Fusion architecture vs. Cadillac's "dedicated luxury-car" platform - but nothing could be further from the truth. I actually love the Lincoln even more!

I've had my 2013 MKZh since very early 2013. Today I ordered a 2017 with the Reserve Package and more goodies than my 2013 had. I always got good gas mileage with the 2013 and expect the same with the new one.

I ordered on Z Plan and the '13 is already spoken for by a buyer.

I really like the hybrid as I've had 0 issues with them and both of mine delivered great gas mileage.

I ordered the White Gold and light interior. Besides the Reserve Package I ordered the Technology Package, Climate Package, the single panel moon roof, the multi-contoured seats, rear sunshade. In June I bought a loaded Edge Ti and the sticker price on the MKZh is less than the Edge was. Go figure.

I use my seat air conditioning every day during the summer months here in North Texas.  My butt stays nice and cool!  :)

From my limited knowledge on the subject, a battery can load test fine, but still not be able to hold a charge.  It's one of those little oddities that makes you go... huh?  :)

So I am doing cleaning and maintenance and checking the air filter (thank goodness it is the easiest thing to check) .  It is a mess, filled with nut shells and they (mice/chipmunks) even started chewing the filter itself. So I took off the air intake at the front bumper and placed a small hole screen in it hoping that this will  stop them at that point of entrance . I know part of the problem is that I live on a small farm and there are plenty of little rodents around, even with my killer cat outside they get in. So check on your filter to make sure they have not made a home in your filter. Have a good summer.  Jim
