FWIW - there also seems to be a time factor in the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor (IOLM), I don't drive a lot of miles. On my 2017 MKZ 3.0 purchased 7/28/16 - Mine came up with the reminder 8/8/17 (6,600 miles), 7/20/18 (10,700 miles), 7/12/19 (16,302 miles) and 7/15/20 (19,077 miles).

Ordered one on May 23, said it shipped on May 25, arrived in Georgia on June 8. Seems that transit from China has sped up a bit! Also discovered that the old tray fits nicely on top of the new tray - just have to slide the old tray forward a bit - like you see in the pic. Room for even more stuff!

Shop around. While I had always hoped that being a long-term customer would get you the best rates from your insurance company - that just doesn't seem to be the case in today's world. I have had to switch car insurance companies about every 3 years to keep any semblance of a reasonable rate.

Glad to see this post. I thought I was losing my mind. I would feel the seat shift every three or four times I would drive the car. Nothing major, just a little click as described in the TSB. Thought maybe I was putting on weight! ? Will have them look at it on my next maintenance visit...

If you shut off the engine and re-started the engine - but did not open the drivers door and close it, it probably did not force a re-boot. You have to open the door. You can force a re-boot while driving by pressing the radio power and FF buttons at the same time until the screen goes blank. It will then restart. I think my 2017 with Sync3 has frozen maybe once. My prior 2013 with Sync2 froze a couple times which is when I tracked down the re-boot instructions in the owners manual. As tech heavy as the cars are and the extreme heat and cold they are subject to, I am surprised Sync doesn't freeze more often. My iPhone, iPad and Windows computer all freeze much more often! ?

2011-2012 was a different technology. 2013 MKZ went to a different type of battery and technology. If I remember correctly, the top EV speed in the 2011-2012 model was 47 MPH, so you are where you are supposed to be. The software upgrade was specific to the 2013 MKZ (Fusion and C-MAX) - and only those made in a certain date range if I remember correctly.

Can't imagine you would have a problem. I had a MKZ Hybrid from 2013-2016 and often left mine sitting unused for a 3-4 weeks without a problem.

I had a 2013 MKZ Hybrid (traded in for a 2017 3.0T). Beside improving the MPG, the software update also changed the maximum MPH where the electric engine would automatically disengage. Before the update, the electric engine would automatically disengage at 62 MPH. After the update, I believe it was raised to 85MPH. So, if you can run on electric up to 85, you have the update. FWIW, it has been a long time and this is all from memory - I am pretty sure it is correct - or I could be having a "Senior moment". ?

I am not sure of your model year, but I an MKC with Sync 2 and MKZ with Sync 3, both of them have the ability to synchronize the clock to the GPS time. Do you have that turned on in the clock settings?

If Sync gets hung up while driving, pressing and holding the Power Button (radio, not car!) and fast forward button at the same time - will reboot the Sync system. You may have to hold them 5-10 seconds before the screen goes blank and the reboot begins, You can release the buttons at that point...

In theory, it is data from about 1 year later - but exactly what timeframe that covers is not clear to me. In my area, which is rapidly growing, I look for streets/roads/new exits that I know have been built (and when) and get a sense of the timing. On the A9 chip, I find roads that were new about 12-18 months ago from now, but nothing newer. I have been buying chips for various cars since the A4 Chip (2013) and the data lag has been consistent over the years.. In all cases, the data is only as good as the people providing it. The A9 Chip still has a local shopping mall name wrong - even 5+ years later. It sold 5+ years ago and changed it's name. At one point, a new flyover ramp on a local highway took almost 3 years to appear on the chip. Or in other cases, local restaurants or stores that have been closed and torn down for a couple years - are still listed. You will also find that different companies make suppositions on the data that are not always correct. For example, I found that the A3-A9 chips all identified a local training center for a retail store - as an actual retail store which it is not. Also had that happen on corporate offices for restaurant chains, telling me a restaurant existed where it did not! Quite frustrating sometimes. Waze and Google have it right, so I know the information is out there, just not with the people providing these chips. Overall, the vast majority of data is good, especially in areas that don't change much.

I had a 2013 MKZ (but traded it in on a 2017). From what I remember, there was an ambient lighting system that was turned on and controlled thru the settings menu on the center stack screen. I am not sure if was an option or if you have it, but you may see it if you look thru the menus. It definitely had footwell lights as well as some other lighting in the doors. It was fairly low lighting and was on all the time when it was it was dark.

The dealerships reflect the management philosophy and business models of their ownership. I have a Lincoln dealer about a mile from me and another about 15 miles away. I use the one that is 15 miles away for service. Why? Because the one 15 miles away bends over backwards to get my service business. The one a mile away makes me feel like they are doing me a favor by servicing my car.

My 2017 MKZ has the free pick up and delivery option which I used and loved. When I was talking to the service guy about bringing in my 2015 MKC for service (no free pickup and delivery on this model year), he told me they would do the same pickup, leave the loaner, and delivery back to me for $50. It is about 15 miles and 20-30 minutes with traffic - so frankly, it was worth paying. It may be worth checking out if your Lincoln dealer might do that. It is one of those things I don't mind paying for!

Prior to the oil life monitor, I had always done whatever the owners manual recommended. The recommended miles and months have definitely changed over the years. Now I go by the oil life monitor, I wait for the warning which seems to be around 5%. The last few cars I bought always had free maintenance for a certain amount of miles/years. I once tried to get the free maintenance when the oil life was at 20% and was told they would not do it unless it was 10% or lower. I told them I was going on a 2000 mile driving trip and did not want to do maintenance on the road. They did it for me but wrote up the "trip" circumstances on the work order.

I used the E-Bay A-5, A-6 and A-7 in my 2013 MKZ with no problem. Traded it in for a 2017 MKZ before the A-8 came out. The new MKZ's don't have an SD slot any more. I have not gotten the A8, but over the years I have upgraded from A4 to A5 to A6 to A7 from Ebay on various cars. Maps and Points of Interest are updated on the SD card. In my experience, there were no additional features available by upgrading the SD card. I am assuming that additional features would only be available if they chose to implement them in a Sync update. Be advised that while the A# updates are newer data, they are typically not as up-to-date as Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze or other standalone GPS's that can have daily/weekly/monthly autoupdates. I live in an area that is growing rapidly and new streets, highway exits, businesses, etc - are way behind in the Sync A# card. I have been watching the name of a local mall that changed 3-4 years ago which is still not updated in the Sync A# SD cards or even in my 2017 Sync 3 which does away with the A# SD card for (presumably) an online update at some point. Whatever the technology, it's all about the data!

I am not speaking with any real knowledge or fact - just conjecture. In my 2017 MKZ 3.0T, I often use the regular Nav and then set the same route on my phone in Apple Maps or Waze. I have not used Google Maps on my phone. Depending on the route, the mapping systems will often set slightly different routes resulting in different times. If there is a major highway blockage, the Nav system will ask you how you want to handle it as you get closer, while Apple and Waze may just route you to a different route - perhaps using local streets that don't have traffic data and might be equally slow. Even if the routes are the same, the timing is different 95% of the time. Along a long route, it kind of seems like the Nav system takes accidents or blockages anywhere along the route (even 30 or 40 miles away) into account (and timing) immediately, while Apple Maps and Waze don't take it into account until you get closer. Taking it into account when you get closer is probably the better way since the accident or blockage may not even be there once you get there. Once started on the road, the Nav system time often drops a little almost immediately. And once on the road, the Apple Maps or Waze time typically rises a little. It seems like the time is constantly recalculated as things happen. I have noticed that the Nav system will typically always have the longer time. It seems like the more stoplights involved, the more difference. I wonder if the Nav programmers are using a more conservative or worst case scenario at how long you might be at a stoplight. For example, about 1 mile from my house I have to make a left turn at a light onto a major highway. If I just miss that left turn, because it is a major intersection, it is about 3 minutes until I can turn left again. So the question is, did the programmers for the different mapping programs allow an average of 30, 60, 90, 120 or more seconds for that turn. Multiple that by a lot of turns and you can get a big difference. Being a programmer in a prior lifetime (not for mapping though), I tend to think about that kind of stuff. Waze is rather new and I have only tested it over the last few months. I don't like to use it in the real world because of the way it reroutes people onto residential streets, Especially now that school is open again, Waze is rerouting rush hour people off of clogged major highways and onto residential streets - where it is interfering with school bus routes, etc. I have used Waze just to see how it is different from Apple Maps or the Nav system. I have used the Apple Maps timing tests with my 2013 MKZ Nav (no longer own this) and my 2015 MKC (still own this and has Sync 2). Sync 3 in the 2017 MKZ is generally more accurate in timing than the Sync 2 in the 2015 MKC. As I said, just conjecture. I don't think that it is something that can be "fixed", just noted and allowed for.

I started this thread almost a year ago. My fully loaded 2017 MKZ 3.0 now has 6,696 miles and was picked up for it's first service. The pickup at my home went off without a hitch. I scheduled it thru the Lincoln Way App and was kept up to date via text. The text just before pickup included a link that showed me what the driver would look like, etc. The car they brought me was also a 2017 MKZ, but was a 2.0 Select model with minimal options. It has made me appreciate my car so much more! It is sort of weird to be driving the "same" car, but yet have it be so much different. Biggest difference is the 3.0 vs 2.0. Although the 2.0 is pretty peppy, I do miss squealing the tires every once in a while! I am surprised at the gas mileage though, I would have expected the 2.0 to be much better. Although I did not buy gas to check the mileage officially, the dash mileage was lower than I get on my 3.0. I really missed the panoramic roof. Although I don't have it "open air" in the hot summers, I usually leave the inside sunscreen open. It is amazing how cramped the inside feels without the expanse of glass as the roof. I also missed the automatic wipers. I also missed the upgraded Revel Optima sound system and I definitely missed the air-conditioned seats! . The biggest shock was having to manually open and close the trunk. While the button releases the latch, it doesn't smoothly open. Nor is there a button to close it. While out making several shopping stops, I kept reaching for the "close" button. I have to say that at one year later, I love my MKZ even more than when I first bought it...

Hopefully you will be reimbursed. If it is at all possible, I would check out other Lincoln or Ford/Lincoln dealers in your area for your ongoing maintenance service. I was unhappy with the ongoing maintenance service at the Ford/Lincoln Dealer about a mile from where I live and now have my service done at a Ford/Lincoln dealer about 14 miles from where I live. I could not be happier. It is the difference of night and day. Not as convenient, but much easier on my blood pressure!

I had a black 2013 MKZh - and I love the look of the split wing on that car. When I saw the 2017 MKZ at the Atlanta Car Show in April 2016, I hated the new front end. Decided I would keep the 2013 a few years more and would probably go with a different brand/model when it was time to trade in. Fast forward to July 2016 and I was driving by the Lincoln Dealer, they had just received a white 2017 MKZ and put it on one of the display pedestals out by the road. In white, I absolutely loved the new front end. Long story short. I now own a white 2017 MKZ. I still do not like the new front end on some of the other colors, but on white - I love it. I know... I'm weird!

I have never been particularly loyal to a car brand. I typically would go to the Atlanta Car Show and sit in all the cars and then go out and buy something that was interesting to me or that I felt particularly drawn to at the show. That is what got me into a 2013 MKZ-H (my first Lincoln). I loved that car so much, when it was time to trade in my Wrangler a couple years later, I got a 2015 MKC 2.0. That was the first time in my very long life that I had every owned two cars of the same brand. I traded in my 2013 MKZ-H on a 2017 MKZ 3.0TT. That is the first time in my very long life that I have ever traded in for the same model. I would say that is love...

Mine too. I had a 2013 MKZ that was much more forceful in lane keeping than my 2017 MKZ. But then the heated and cooled seats worked much better in the 2013 also. Sigh....
