  1. Good Luck having anything recommended in this forum being accomplished. I have sent several letters to Lincoln Motor Company within months of taking delivery of my 2013 MKZ. I pointed out how dangerous the location of controls on the steering wheel was, the inadequate GPS, that provides very little information and relies on estimated data, rather then real time and speed for measurements( The Tom Tom and other hangon units costing less then $300 better provide for most drivers needs, back lighting cannot be adjusted on the message center, etc. I have never received an acknowledgement of my correspondence more than a year later. I enjoy my car immensely, but there are changes that would make it safer and better.
  2. Congratulations. You are in for a real treat. Make use of the safety installations- they enhance the car's safety in a positive way.
  3. I'm on my 3rd MKZ, including the 2013 factory orderd. I have not experienced any wind noise from any window unless the window was not fully closed. Maybe you have a door that is not 100 percent to design. Perhaps changing out the complete door with windows factory installed may solve the problem. Good luck.

No doubt in my mind you enjoy your car. I have purchased the Zephyr, 2005 MKZ and the 3013 MKZ 2.0 Eco boost cars without having any mechanical or electrical problems. I think these are great cars for a reasonable price. Many years ago, I taught auto mechanics as well as repaired my own vehicles. I have also recycle 0ver 13 1956 Mustangs , a 56 thunderbird and a 1965 Licoln Continential. Since owning the Zephyr, I have made a decision not to touch these cars. They are high precision electronic controlled eletromechical devices that I no longer have the knowledge to inspect or repair. Also, I am bigger too, so can no longer go where men have gone before. In other words, If I have a problem with my car with a 4 year warranty, I leave the work to Lincoln Motor company. I do not keep a car past it's warranty so it is doubtful I would need to work on it myself. One thing you might explore- somewhere I thought I read that Lincoln has built into the MKZ a noise production element that makes it sound like a more powerful car. Anyway,, enjoy the car and your love of explore and repair. I live in Annandale Virginia where we still get winter snow and ice with heavy traffic.
  5. I would be interested in reading about your car problems. In recent years, I have purchased new a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, a 2010 MKZ and a 2013 MKZ Ecoboost without any problems. Haven;t even changed a light bulb in any of them. Ordered my last 2013 MKZ in August 2012 and took delivery on April 3, 2013. A very long time for a new edition of the MKZ to be deliverd, but so far the new technology has been nothing less than perfect. Looking forward to hearing your story.
  6. There sre some items on your car that can be controlled romotely, these include the moonroof and windows. Normally. you cause the remote operation to occur on purpose)you press the button on the fob) however I have found tht I can accidentally cause the windows to go down when I inadvertantly lean on something like a display counter or sitting in a plush chair in my house. I would guess you are inadvertantly doing the same thing with the moonroof and sunshade while you are shopping in the mall. The emergency signal as well as power trunk can also operate on their own, when you accidentally lean on something that has the fob butoon beween you and the resistance.
  7. Please be more specific and tell us what you want to know about the MKZ. Which model and year are you inquiring about? etc.
  8. You should read your operators manual for how the roof works. I do not have a Pano Top, but I do know it does partially close when car is moving at a specified speed. Also see your salerperson or Service Manager for more details than the manual provides.
  9. Here is what I reported to Lincoln Consumer Service regarding the navigation system. My letter was never acknowledged or responed to. "It should also be noted that for a Luxury car, Navigation information is basic and inadequate when compared to GPS devices from Tom Tom , Garman and others. Most of the customers that Lincoln is reaching out to should have the luxury equipment they are investing in. The Navigation device should provide Real Speed in Real Time, Time of Departure, Time of Arrival. Miles traveled, average miles traveled per hour, miles left to travel, miles to next turn and altitude, as well as the data obtained through the Sirius Service. The Navigation system should also have an address book to enter locations without having to go through entering the information for setting up a route." I've had my car since April 2013 ,which had been ordered in August of 2013. and have had no problems.
  10. I would suggest you take it to the Lincoln Dealership Service Department and Let them replace the switch/valve that controls dual control of the heating/cooling system. If you are a capable mechanic, I suggest purchasing the repair manual before trying to repair the system.
  11. I would agree with your observation that the 2013 MKZ camera is not as clear as was on the 2010 MKZ that I owned. It does provide the direction of where the rear wheels are heading as you turn the steering wheel, which the 2010 did not have. Also, the green, yellow and red settings are presented differently. I have over 6000 miles on my car and have gotten used to the lower contrast of the rear view camera, but like you, wish it were brighter with more contrast. I woulld not agree it is out of focus.
  12. I have approx 5000 miles on my 2013 MKZ. Have just completed round trip from Northern Va to Columbus, Ohio of approx 900 miles, including city driving, short trips and Interstate 70 driving. My average MPG was 28.1, whiich included mountains as well as fast paced driving. A previous trip from Radford, Va to Fairfax, Va (approx 450 miles) was 30.1 MPG. I'm hoping to do better when driving on flat highways without mountains.. I doubt if you will see the numbers you are seeking until you get more milage on your car.
  13. Ordered mine September 2012 expecting November delivery, then December, then January, then Week of 25 February2013, still not here. Car was built January 29, in Hermisillo, Mex. Last Update from Lincoln was February 8, still in Hermosillo. Car window sticker states gives the automobiles raill car number on 29 January. As of March 4, 2013 Lincoln Customer Service reps have no information to provide to customers since 8 February. No information avail for car location since Hermosillo. I would be a happy camper if I were informed of the car's real location and what has impeded it's scheduled 25 February Delivery. Does anyone know how to locate a car after it leaves Mexico? I.e. at Flat Rock, MI. . Surely a car built the last week of January would not still be in Mexico 5 weeks later?
