  1. Read my post: http://lincolnmkzforum.com/topic/770-2013-mkz-hybrid-battery-going-dead-over-night/?p=6123 There is a TSB outstanding for a trunk control module that is draining the battery overnight. We kept getting a dead battery, and after this TSB was done, it hasn't happened again.
  2. Do a search for this TSB: ASI-45124 Our MKZ Hybrid also was dead on the lot, brand new. Put it down to sitting too long, and after it was charged it was fine...until a couple weeks later when it was dead in the driveway. I jumped it in order to get the HVB started and the car charging, and it was fine. Two days later it was dead again. I jumped it again and drove it to the dealer. They reprogrammed the power trunk control module as described in that TSB, and the problem never happened again since.
  3. This is the sad state of automotive service today. Nobody repairs anything, it's just "pull and replace", diagnostic skills are completely lost in favor of public corporate diagnostic trees. Noise in the door. Replace component at random. Noise remains. Throw hands up and give up, because it's not covered in the diagnostic manual.
  4. This is the trunk a Fusion plug-in Hybrid, so it's basically what you would see in a plug-in MKZ in terms of trunk space. Not much, that's for sure.
  5. Over the last week or so, I've been getting sudden notifications on my phone from the MyLincoln Mobile app that our MKZ Hybrid has "0% oil life remaining" and that "Gas is at 0%" (i.e. empty). Logging into the app, it does in fact show that this is the case. However, if you wait a few minutes, it fixes itself, and the numbers go back to normal. This wouldn't be that big an issue if my phone didn't go off bleeping to alert me to these warnings - it's a bit annoying. Has anyone else been experiencing this?
  6. We've had our MKZ Hybrid for three weeks now, and have just over 600 miles on the odometer. When walking outside this weekend, I looked at our MKZ in the driveway and noticed a huge scuff on the right front bumper. Looking more closely, I could see it was also scraped down the side of the wheel well opening, and the metal over top of the wheel arch was slightly buckled. I asked my wife, who denied hitting anything. She is paranoid about parking it as well, and always parks it far away from anyone in parking lots - yet while it was parked, some jackass obviously nailed it, then just drove away. It was a pretty good hit too, enough to bend metal. So off to the body shop it goes, a nice claim on our insurance, and deductible payment out of our bank account.
  7. I have a C-Max Energi, and would have bought an Energi version of the MKZ over the Hybrid that we now own. With the clean vehicle rebate and the federal tax credit on a plug-in vehicle, the difference in price between a hybrid and plug-in hybrid is essentially nil - the rebates and tax credits pay for the increase in price. My only concern would be the loss in trunk space - the Hybrid already has a smallish trunk thanks to the battery shoehorned in there. With a plug-in version, there would be very little room left for trunk space.
