  1. I really don't get all the hate. Maybe I'm too young for this car, but I've never needed to go above half volume even with the pano open (my speed comp is on the highest however) The Sirius radio sounds compressed and kinda crappy but the HD radio and CDs sound outstanding.
  2. I've found that the cloth covered wax applicators work very well also with a natural look and no slinging.
  3. That is actually not my car (pics were before I had mine) but I use a wet tire shine by McGuire's that looks similar. I've found that by using a wax applicator I can work the product in better, I use less, it looks more natural, lasts longer, and there is no slinging onto the wheels.
  4. Some loss of reception for stations in towns farther away. All of my local stations I like come in well though. So far I'm a big fan.
  5. It's pretty dark out, but here is an initial pic of the short antenna.
  6. Yeah it's hard to believe that they really couldn't come up with an alternative before the initial launch or even for the '14 model. Clearly it did not bother the higher ups in engineering or design. It's pretty sad honestly, something you might expect from Hyundai or Kia while trying to establish themselves in the luxury market...not Lincoln.
  7. A leaf blower, that sounds like something I would do haha
  8. I use turtle wax ice spray on detailer and it does a nice job removing water marks and makes it easier to clean off new ones. Windows I just use glass cleaner. Also, I do all of my cleaning in the garage out of the sun to prevent new spots after a fresh wash. The sun and heat really make them show up quickly.

    Touch up paint

    The dealer will have it.
  10. Apple has its own vulnerabilities. And you can simply change your messaging settings to not auto retrieve MMS, then it's a non issue. So keep on whistling haha. Just picking. They are both great platforms, I just felt the need to clear that up if anyone else read the article.
  11. Not sure if anyone else here has bought one, but I just ordered a craven speed 4" shorty antenna for my 13 mkz pano. Will be nice to be rid of that monster antenna. I found it on amazon for $25, it's billet aluminum and made in the USA. I will post pics once it arrives.
  12. On the main page you can click on the highlighted comment box to the left of each forum to mark it read, but that is all I'm aware of.
  13. It may be a feature of your phone coming through the sync system when connected, so don't rule out checking the settings on your phone under Bluetooth or sound settings
  14. Hmm... My 13 doesn't do that, I'll check out the settings tomorrow.
  15. So I cannot help but notice, and be bothered by, the difference in wheel gap between the front and the rear of the car. I would like to even this out by trimming the front springs (slightly). the difference front to rear is around 1/2" - 1" (I have not measured yet). Before anyone says it, I realize this will have a minor affect on spring rate. It will not, however, compromise the spring integrity or much else for that matter (use to see this brought up in other car forums for years, the only way this happens is if you are cutting more than 1/2-3/4 of a coil and/or using a torch to do so) I would already be jumping on this if it weren't for the CCD system on this car. Seeing that aftermarket springs are available makes me think it does not affect the system, but I wanted to ask here before doing anything that may cause errors with the system. Because this one is so specific, please reserve responses to knowledge of how the dampening system works and facts for why it would or would not be an issue with this system.
  16. Thanks for the additional info. For a car that will typically see very short trips, do you guys see a benefit in running full synthetic over the motorcraft syndic blend? There is very little real info out there (not published by the major oil companies)
  17. Are you somehow involved in the industry? Just curious where you got your 5% info. That sounds more like conventional oil than a synthetic blend. Seems unlikely to me (though you may have far more knowledge and insight than I) that Ford and other companies would recommend synthetic blend oil with scheduled maintenance at 7500 or 10000 miles if motorcraft in particular wasn't more than 5% synthetic. Not trying to say you are wrong, just seems odd to me. That number is what I've been hearing conventional motor oil is these days as they have begun to add some synthetic qualities. Would love to know more if you have any additional insights, thanks!
  18. Very nice. I like it. I would like it more if it was a bluish purple like some of the midnight blues of the past. Either way, nice car.
  19. That is what I planned on doing, but I know there have been a lot of discussions over the years between types of oils and octane ratings and what is best for performance, efficiency, and longevity. The only time I ran full synthetic was in a freshly built 400whp Subaru wrx STi. And in that case I am very glad I did because when I had two separate oil leaks I feel that it helped save the motor. I realize there is nothing scientific to that, and I did get the car shut down very quickly both times. But I was so impressed with how well it kept everything lubricated, that I ran nothing but (Amsoil) full synthetic in that car. There are also those who favor higher octane for a "more complete burn" and some gasoline brands claim other benefits from their high octane offerings. I have no real experience with this except from a performance standpoint (allowing you to adjust timing). But it seems with most regular street cars tuned for 87 they don't really care what octane you run (87-93) as long as it is of good quality.
