  1. I'd be interested in an answer to this too. Seems like it should be a simple swap, but you never know. Here's a pic I found with the new puddle lamps on an BL MKC.
  2. Regarding your question about photos of people who call, that is dependent on your type of cell phone and carrier since the contact information comes from your phone. Some phones allow photos, some don't. My iPhone 5S with Verizon does not permit photos. What kind of phone do you have?
  3. This kind of thing is hard to diagnose. The OM says that the intelligent access key can be affected by nearby metal, purses or bags with metallic finishes or embellishments (a.k.a. "bling"), etc. The battery in the remote may simply be low too. You bought your car used, I think. Well, first thing I'd do is replace the battery in the remote with a fresh one. The car is supposed to show a message on the instrument cluster when the key fob battery is low, but it is probably worth swapping anyway. Also, make sure the key fob is not attached to some huge keyring with a lot of keys, and that it's near an outside pocket in your wife's purse.
  4. The Jukebox was a 20 GB hard drive that you could store music on in the car. My 2009 MKS and 2012 MKZ had these, but I didn't use it. I burned all our audio CDs to my computer two years ago and have been "diskless" ever since. I use iTunes Match, which means all my songs are in iCloud and are accessible from any device I own. I have all my music (8000 songs) on my phone, and I usually stream audio (music or podcasts) to the MKZ via Bluetooth. The only downside of Bluetooth is that you do not get the full array of voice commands to control the music. The basic functions work by voice (Next Song, Play, Pause, etc) as do the steering wheel controls. If I want more control via voice, I simply plug my iPhone in to the USB adaptor in the car. This way, I can play by Genre, Album, Artist, etc. as well as see album art on the screen. Next step is to figure out how to stream Bluetooth audio to the car FROM MY APPLE WATCH!!!! :love_shower:
  5. If I had to describe Luxe Metallic in generic terms, I would say it's most like a pewter color. Somewhere between Magnetic Metallic and Ingot Silver Metallic. It's a nice color. As I mentioned previously, Luxe Metallic appeared to originally be called Luxe Metalicious Metallic. Lincoln does not appear to be using the latter name officially anymore, probably because it sounds like a pornstar or stripper name. It seems to be perfect for that! So, I have decided to use Luxe Metaliciious as my screen name on my late night cam shows. :camera: I suggested this to the salesgirl that sold my my car, and she just laughed. She didn't think I was serious.... ;)
  6. The Intelligent Access system on my car works fine every time, and I've only heard about isolated reports of it not working. Therefore, I do not believe this is a widespread problem. My guess is that the issues posted above were isolated incidents. And I'm not convinced they were not the result of user error either. ;)
  7. True, MLT is not very fast. I've had it in my 2009 MKS, 2012 MKZ, and in my current 2015 MKZ. One of my main beefs is that using Voice Controls you are basically navigating the menus with voice, which can be very slow. It's often faster to just touch the screen to get where you need to be. My own view is that overall, car manufacturers are terrible about developing user interfaces for the infotainment systems. Forget Sync entirely. What needs to happen is for Apple's CarPlay and whatever the Android system is to be implemented in the vehicles ASAP. Apple et al. have the best user interfaces, and if that can be mirrored on the car, the customer will be very happy. Customer is already familiar with the interface and knows how to use it. Car manufacturer costs will go down as they will not need complicated electronics to support the system. Win-Win for everybody.
  8. With my new 2015 MKZ, I'm on my 5th Lincoln (previous vehicles being 2003 LS V6, 2006 LS V8, 2009 MKS, 2012 MKZ). I like this car a lot, great gas mileage, comfy, lots of electronic toys, very dependable, great dealer close to my office. No regrets!
  9. I recently purchased the Cargo Net (Part No. DP5Z-54550A66-B) for the 2013-2016 MKZ from a merchant on eBay. Since this net was different than any other I've used, I though it would be useful to share my impressions and some photos. The net itself is contained in a long black zippered bag that has elastic hooks on either end. The elasticized hooks attach to the lower anchors near the trunk opening. The bag keeps the net stowed neatly away until it is needed. To deploy the net, unzip the bag and attach the elastic corner hooks on the mesh net to the upper anchors in nar the trunk opening. So far, the net is working great. It's not cheap at $50, but it is a versatile design and excellent quality.
  10. Mine has one recall notice, something about light intensity. It was on my Lincoln Owner web page for my car. I also received a notice in the mail about it. Recall Date: APR 27, 2015 Recall Title: PARK LAMP INTENSITY CONFIGURATION NHTSA Recall Number: AWAITING# Lincoln Recall Number: 15C02 Recall Description: ON CERTAIN 2015 LINCOLN MKZ VEHICLES, WHEN THE HEADLAMPS ARE ACTIVATED, THE PARK LAMP PHOTOMETRIC INTENSITY EXCEEDS THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE INTENSITY SPECIFIED IN SECTION 7.8.13 OF FMVSS 108. FORD IS NOT AWARE OF ANY REPORTS OF ACCIDENT OR INJURY RELATED TO THIS CONDITION. I'm in Connecticut, so I expect I'll be getting a Notice about the bolt corrosion too.
  11. Well, the Rola trunk organizer is great! It is very well-made, and is designed for things like helmets, footballs, track shoes, and other sporting gear. The three dividers are adjustable, and I set them in equal distances so that they can hold a bag of groceries in each of the 4 compartments. It has mesh pockets on the side for flat items like papers, maps, etc. Also, the bottom has a rubber-like material that prevents it from sliding around. My organizer has not moved at all during normal stop and go driving. Overall, a worthwhile purchase I would recommend. The model I purchased (and linked to above) is 38 inches wide. There is another model that is 25 inches. The 38 inch model fits in the MK Z trunk just fine.

    Tuxedo Black

According to the 2016 MKZ Order Guide, Tuxedo Black has been replaced with a new color called Black Velvet
  13. I just ordered this one from Amazon. I'll report back once I've used it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000E81VN8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  14. Yeah, it's a great car. I have an Apple Watch on order, but did not get it today like many people. So, instead I got a new car! Yay!
  15. Just picked up my 2015 MKZ in Luxe today. Oddly, some brochures were calling it Luxe Metalicious. .
  16. Thanks, and thanks to Robert Lane for the production info! April is not far off! My current lease actually ends in June, so a 2016 MKZ is in my future! After all this snow goes away! I really like my 2012 MKZ. It's my fourth Lincoln (2003 LS V6, 2006 LS V8, 2009 MKS, and 2012 MKZ). The 2016 MKZ will be #5!
  17. I'll likely be looking to replace my 2012 MKZ with a new model in April. I've been looking at the 2015 models, but since JOB1 on the 2016 models is very soon, I'll probably order one of those.
