  1. Did the premium floor mats come with your car too? Mine did not, but I bought them separately. Curious if your did, and how you like them.
  2. Each fob can be programmed with one set of seat, steering column, and mirror settings that are stored in each of the 3 memory settings (the three buttons next to the power door lock switch). Sadly, ambient lighting is not saved. SteveB, programming the fobs is easy. First you program the memory seats/column/mirrors, then program the fob. See attached. 2015 MKZ Owner's Manual V.2.pdf
  3. I don't know what happened to the seller. I bought a variety of colors, but I've been leaning to beige/brown interiors the past couple of years, so my brown and beige stock is nearly all gone. I guess I'll have to switch to black interiors in the next vehicles! :whistling:
  4. I installed the Lincoln Cargo mat into my MKZ a while ago. Part Number is here: http://accessories.lincoln.com/catalog/product/view/id/10519/s/cargo-mat-carpeted-black/category/2948/ It's nice and heavy, and it fits perfectly. The embroidered Lincoln Star (in the new style that matches the floor mats) is a nice touch. At $90 it's not exactly cheap, but worth it given the quality of the materials and the fit. If you have a Hybrid, keep in mind there is a separate trunk mat for your cars. Make sure you get the correct one! Some pics:
  5. Mine is blue at the moment, but I may change it to Bordello Red or Strip Club Purple... ;)
  6. So what color are you going to set for your ambient interior lighting? This is a big decision!
  7. Just don't connect a toaster, space heater, or coffee maker to the rear 120V power point. Seriously. You'll void the warranty.
  8. Oh, btw, one of the most frustrating things to get working was the in-car Wifi. Anybody else use it? I could connect the car to my home wifi network, but why? There's really no use as far as I can see, so I turned that bit off. More useful was the mobile hotspot done through your phone. This allows, for example, kids in the back with Wifi iPads to connect to the car and use the internet through the cell phone connected to Sync. I've set my system up to make this work, but have not had guests in the vehicle to test it extensively.
  9. I have the App on my iPhone and it works great with my embedded-modem 2015 MKZ. It's fun to start the car remotely, lock, unlock, etc. The App was updated over the weekend with a new look and features. Yes, it says its for 4 years in the FAQ with the App, but at this point the remote technology is so new Ford doesn't know what they're going to do as far as costs after the 4 years is up. I say enjoy it and worry about the cost later. There's not much you're going to be able to do about it anyway. BTW, to get the App and Sync Destinations working properly, the FIRST thing you should do is go to the Lincoln Owner's site and register your car. https://owner.lincoln.com/your-vehicle.html Once you register, all the info is transferred to the two apps. Also register your mobile phone number so you can use Vehicle Health Report, Sync Services, etc. One fun thing to do is to get a destination point using Mapquest on your home computer. You can then send the point to the Sync system in your car via Sync Services where it gets plugged right into your Nav system. I use this all the time, and it's great. Sync Destinations does essentially the same thing, plot your route on on the app on your iPad then send it to your car! You can also save your most used destination points, like home, work, your favorite bar, the strip club, etc. Fun! There's quite a lot of technology between the apps, website, and the car, so have fun with it.
  10. I'm with Joe.... I like the inside-only treatment, leaving a chrome surround. That looks best to my eye. I think it goes really well with your wheels.
  11. I got them online way back in 2003 when I got my first Lincoln LS. I don't think the site exists anymore, and my recent searching has not turned up any stores that sell them. :gaah:
  12. Lucky B@astard! J/K! That looks awesome! I wish my 2015 MKZ had those lamps!
  13. As I have done on my past Lincolns, I added a couple of iron-on Lincoln Star emblems to the rear floor mats. I think it gives the rear seating area a finished look.
  14. I think the best thing is to try and keep water spots from forming in the first place. Those spots arise when water evaporates, leaving minerals behind and resulting in a spot. I think BlackPano is on the right track, wash and dry the car in the shade if you can. I have hard water at my house, so I follow this, as well as trying to dry the car as quickly as possible, especially on warm days, to minimize the chance of evaporation. After my car is washed and I am about to dry it, I will first use a California Water Blade to remove the big water puddles. I start with the glass first, then move to the horizontal panels (hood, rear decklid, top), and follow up with the vertical surfaces. I can remove most of the water in about 2 minutes using that thing. Then I use a Microfiber towel to remove the rest of the water (about 5 minutes). For water spots that already exist, they usually come out with a light buffing with a detailing spray. On more stubborn spots, a claybar is also very effective.
  15. You mean these Android phones? http://techcrunch.com/2015/07/27/nasty-bug-lets-hackers-into-nearly-any-android-phone-using-nothing-but-a-message/#.iqynlp:Me1I :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:
  16. OK, so I was at my (NON-Black Label) dealer today getting service for a couple of recalls. I took the opportunity to look at 2016 MKZ models to see if they have the fancy new puddle lamps. And indeed they do! See attached photos of the underside of the rear view mirrors. The round lamp is from a 2015 MKZ. The rectangular-ish lamp is on the 2016 models. One of the 2016 models happened to be unlocked, and I could see the light on the back of my black iPhone case. It looks exactly like the picture of the MKC posted above. Anyway, I'm no mechanical engineer, but to my eye, this does not look like a trivial swap if one wants 2016 lamps on a pre-2016 vehicle. Seems like the entire bottom of the mirror is different. Balls.
  17. Here are a few I've been using. All are 800 x 384 format and fit perfectly onto the screen. Feel free to use them.
  18. For the iPhone users, and in case you didn't know, Sync can receive text messages from your iPhone and read them to you aloud while you are driving. If you are parked, there is an additional option of reading the text of the messages on the screen. Here are the instructions: http://owner.lincoln.com/how-tos/sync-technology/mylincoln-touch/phone-setup/how-to-allow-sync-to-receive-text-messages-from-your-iphone.html?sync=my-lincoln-touch I set up my iPhone 5S and the Sync system in my 2015 MKZ to do this, and it works great. When a text arrives, the car makes a little ding sound and a notification pops up on the screen. A little envelope icon also appears on the home screen in the Phone quadrant. I can touch a button on the screen to have Sync read the message, or I can initiate a voice command to have the system read it. The message is stored in the Phone portion of Sync, so you can go back to it if necessary. You cannot reply or send a new text message using the iPhone, but at least you can read or listen to the messages.
  19. Has anyone else changed the wallpaper on their MLT/Sync system? I found a few that I use in a rotation.
  20. ... or an iPhone app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mylincoln-mobile-official/id872543305?mt=8 It's fun to personalize that app, btw. Like the Sync Destinations app, you can decide how it will address you. I have mine say Good Morning Sexy....
  21. Hmmmm.... That's interesting because the 2016 MKZ Order Guide indicated that the exterior mirrors were "New/Changed". It wasn't clear to me when I read it earlier because it simply says Puddle/Projector Lamp without any details. Frankly, the description looked very similar to the 2015 brochure which called them "Security Approach Lamps" — Mirrors ○ Power Glass and Power-Folding ○ Heated ○ Puddle/Projector Lamp ○ Integrated Turn Signal ○ Driver/Passenger Memory ○ Auto-Dimming (Drivers Side Only) So the question remains: Is it possible to upgrade tan older model o the new 2016 projector lamps? I need an answer now, dammit!! :) :) :)
  22. The current version of MLT does not use apps like was done with previous versions of Sync. I think the best you can do is simply stream Pandora from your phone to the Sync system via Bluetooth. If Pandora embeds the artist and song title in the stream, you might be able to see that on the home screen. I stream music from Apple Music (in the cloud, not stored on my phone) to Sync via Bluetooth, and I can see the artist and song title on the home screen.
  23. Interesting, because I actually looked for cars WITHOUT the THX system. I had it in my '12 MKZ, '09 MKS, and '06 LS, and it was ok, but I listen to podcasts most of the time in the car these days, and the THX would really be a waste. In my '15 MKZ, the regular system sounds fine, and I could think of a lot of other things to do with $1000!
  24. Correct. If you have the power decklid, the 5/6 button press will not release the trunk, even if you have the power decklid turned off in the settings. I know, I tried on mine. And the owner's manual says so. :(
