  1. I did it myself. Most of the washing and cleaning supplies I had on hand already, so out of pocket costs were essentially zero.
  2. Lincoln updated the app yesterday to version 1.0.1. In the release notes, it says "The app monitors status levels for tire pressure and oil life, notifying users when either of these require attention". Note that it does not say that there are now visual indicators to show tire pressure or oil life, like in the previous app. All it says is that you will be "notified" if either of these are outside the normal range. The update looks the same as the previous version.
  3. Welcome to the forum, Norm. As a practical matter, I don't think it would be easy to add the modem. It is a highly integrated piece of hardware with special wiring throughout the car, special antennas, sensors, etc. If you really want it, you would probably be better off getting a 2015 model or later.
  4. Mine was reading kilometers as well, even though it was set to Miles. I fixed that by going into the settings, tapping Km, letting the progress wheel spin, then tapping Miles and letting the progress wheel spin again. After that, the settings are reset to miles. Agree about oil life, battery, etc. Hopefully future updates will have that info. Should be easy, especially since it was in the previous app. All the remote features are working for me, though.
  5. Ok, well that sounds like a more extensive problem. I hope it all works out quickly and easily.
  6. The modem is usually included only in the higher level options packages.
  7. I was having issues with the MyLincolnMobile app on my modem-embedded 2015 MKZ. None of the remote features were working, like remote lock/unlock, or remote start. I found out that this week, Lincoln published a replacement for the MyLincolnMobile App, called The Lincoln Way app: http://www.lincoln.com/campaignlibs/content/lincoln/us/en_us/default/lincolnway/app.html Once I deleted the old app and installed this one, all my remote features returned. The app is good and quite fast. I'll post more impressions in a later post, but for now, everyone should upgrade!
  8. Myron, I was having the same issue on my '15 MKZ. The remote features of the MyLincolnMobile app were not working..... no remote lock, unlock, or start. It turns out, Lincoln has published an new app yesterday called The Lincoln Way app! During the transition, they must have deactivated the remote features on the old app. I deleted the MyLincolnMobile app and installed this new one, signed in, and all the remote features are working again! http://www.lincoln.com/campaignlibs/content/lincoln/us/en_us/default/lincolnway/app.html Hope this helps!
  9. I upgraded my 2015 MKZ from Sync 3.7 to 3.8 back in January. The only caveat I can see is that your 2015 car must have the MyLincolnTouch system of Sync in order to upgrade, but I think all 2015 cars had that. The dealer should be able to install the upgrade for you, btw.
  10. Steve is correct, you can use the outside keypad to lock the car. Just place the fob inside the car, close all the doors, then simultaneously hold down the bottom two buttons on the outside keypad to lock the doors. To unlock, just type in your 5 digit code, which in your case you will have to share with the shop so they can unlock the car. This is explained in the manual, btw.
  11. Don't call it Luxe. Use the proper original name Luxe Metallicious Metallic (seriously!). Anyway, my 2015 MKZ in Luxe Metallicious Metallic is not chipped at all (except for a spot here and there on the front bumper -- darn gravel!).
  12. Thanks Joe. That'll teach me to read the manual first! It's working just as you described.
  13. My 2015 MKZ has the standard sunroof (not the pano). While I normally will drive with the sunshade open, the glass slider itself is usually closed or in the Tilt position. Today, it was a nice morning, so I opened the roof fully. I was surprised to see it only opened about two-thirds or three-quarters of the way. See the attached photo. Can you guys confirm this is the max opening or if mine is getting stuck somehow? I tried pushing gently on it as mine was opening but it could not go any further and there was no unusual noise or apparent binding. Thanks for any insight.
  14. Thanks for the videos and explanation Myron. I'm going to try the Auto Start Stop on my BMW again.
  15. But the Driver's Package includes Aluminum Foot Pedal Covers!!! I'd love to get a set of those and put them on my MKZ! I saw a set on a 2016 Fusion Titanium recently and they looked pretty nice!
  16. I'm not quite sure, but it might be a feature integrated with the cruise control, what Lincoln is calling "Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-And-Go". From the description, it says that can bring the car to a stop, and RESTART it when traffic begins to move again. My wife's BMW has this, and I hate it. I always turn it off. I do not want the car deciding when to turn the engine off.
  17. Like drolds1, I had a 2003 and 2006 Lincoln LS, and both had heating element strips at the base of the windshield where the wiper blades sit. There was no button or switch, and I never fully understood how they worked, but on cold mornings with frost or snow, you could actually see the strip clearing the glass. I liked that feature, and I was sad to hear when Lincoln dropped it. Glad to see it return in the 2017 MKZ. Like beta software, these pre-production cars get features added and removed. I guess we will just have to wait until the 2017 models are actually out before we can say if it will be included with the Hybrid or not.
  18. Good job, Ozman, that doesn't look too bad. Please report back and let us know how well it works.
  19. I like the 2017 design, including the front look. Kinda reminds me of Jaguar. Has anyone been able to put their hands on an 2017 Order Guide? I've looked around but not found any.
  20. The name of the color is Luxe Metalicious Metallic. Seriously, that was the first name Lincoln used, but changed it to Luxe Metallic. I guess Luxe Metalicious sounds too much like a stripper or porn star name. It's essentially gray, although I like to say it's more of a pewter tone. As for paint sealants lasting two years, I'll just say I don't believe it. Yes, some sealants will last longer than others, but I think it depends heavily on the conditions where the car is driven. And living in the Northeast, as you and I both do, I've never had one last two years, much less 1 year. If you have, then congratulations, but that has not been my experience. I will say that the synthetic sealants definitely last longer than conventional carnauba waxes, which is one reason why I switched years ago.
  21. Yeah, I think when software like Apple's CarPlay becomes standard in 2017, Sync Services will largely go away. You've got it on your phone, now just pipe it into the car.

Yeah, it's a great color.... Pewter is the best analogy I think. Mine is the 2.0L Ecoboost. It drives great, has plenty of power for me, gets 25-26 MPG in town, and costs less to insure. And please, in the future use the correct name: Luxe Metalicious Metallic. Seriously, that's what it was originally called by Ford. :)
  23. I have a 2015 MKZ that included 1 year of complimentary Sync Services. Other models (before 2014 I believe) got 3 years of free complimentary Sync Services. At the end of April, my Owner Page was showing that my Sync Services subscription was going to end, and offered me a link to renew it. The cost was $200 per year, very expensive in my opinion for services I was largely not using. All the Turn by Turn Directions, Business Search, Horoscopes (really??), Weather, Sports scores, etc. were already provided by either the OEM navigation system in the car or by Sirius TraveLink (free). So, most of the Sync Services stuff was duplicative, at least for me. The only Sync Service feature I used was to send a map point from the Sync Destinations app on my phone to the car's navigation system. That was handy at times. But I was not going to spend $200 for the convenience of doing that maybe 6-8 times per year. In the end, I did not renew. Curious to know if other owners are renewing Sync Services or not, and why.
  24. ICYMI, the Lincoln Mobile App was updated yesterday (at least for iPhones). The update includes repositioning of the remote start controls to the front of the app, and if you touch the Lincoln Star at the top of the home screen, a Lincoln Concierge connection page shows up. More importantly, what I'm finding is that the map positioning is much more accurate. The app actually shows my correct location now! The app is also a lot faster, which is especially useful with the updated 4G modem I had installed recently.
