  1. Just came back from the dealers , they switched parts from the good headlight to bad to see if would be a less expensive part , it was not ; $ 2300 . This is a day after a snow storm up here in the Northeast , the sun is shinning , the air is fresh , it is a good day . Jim
  2. TomV , Thank you for your response , yea I checked to see anything out of place ( not that I knew what to look for ) but all wiring looked connected in fact great shape . I bring it to the Dealer on Monday . The car runs so good I tend to think nothing could go wrong with it so I have to be happy that it is nothing mechanical , the best case scenario bop in a new headlight and drive away ( with a lighter wallet from what I read ) . Have a healthy and happy New Year . Jim
  3. 2018 MKZh , the headlight works but the led light that outlines the headlight is not working , will the entire headlight have to be replaced ?
  4. Wow , congratulations Chris , I am holding a steady 41.4 , I remember a couple of years ago people were freaking out that the Z hybrid was not getting the advertised 45 , it never bothered me I am very satisfied with this kind of economy in a lux car . This is my third Z-h , starting with the 2013 which was the first model with the new look , then 2016 now a 2018 which I purchased about a year ago with 4K just miles on it , I just may go to the grave with this one . Jim .
  5. bbf2530 good to hear from you , From what I now read about this service is that it is good to have it done but it is not needed this early in the cars history . I also ask them to check a tire for a slow leak , the tech guy said he did all kinds of test but could not find it , next day I went to a family run shop and he found it in 5 mins , it was a simple faulty tire valve ! So it is lesson learned , and I much rather give my business to the family shop , for some reason I thought that since the Lincoln dealership knows Lincoln cars you would get more of a knowledgeable service . On the plus side I am still enjoying this car ( 2018 MKZh select ) every time I get into it . Stay well , Jim Ferere
  6. So last visit to Lincoln dealer they did the works service ( $108.00 ) and said that I should have the throttle body cleaned ( $102.00 ), car has 22 K miles . I went with it because I want car to last a long time . Was this a needed service ? I am getting suspicious of the dealer . Jim
  7. Oh another suggestion would be a 2017 year up because the radio ,heating etc. and information adjustments were much better then the 2013-2016 years . Jim
  8. 55,000 miles , So you are talking the hybrid base model the next model up is the select and then reserved . Just checking some 2018 models , they go from $19,000 to $33,000 depending on what shape and mileage the car is in . I saw real nice ones for $24,000 with 55K miles on cars.com
  9. SSJensen , My research shows that it is worth it to replace the battery pack ( they may last 150,000 miles). I seen figures at about $6,000 incl labor and parts , I suggest calling your nearest Lincoln dealer and get a price from them , I am on my third MKZh ( 2013,16,18 ) , never had a problem with any of them , I would go for a select model because it has a lot of upgraded features and still cost effective , for example select has 18 inch tires instead of 19 inch which cost more but does nothing for drive comfort . Good luck , Jim
  10. I am a tire nerd , so one of my favorite things on the 2018Z is the tire pressure readout gauge for each tire , especially now at the change of weather the tire pressure falls as weather turns colder . The hand gauge is the best way to check ,. so it was reassuring that the tpms readout and hand gauge were right on .
  11. Update on the 2023 MKZ , it will be made in China not Japan, just for Chinese market . I was not liking the new design , you can see it on Youtube ..
  12. Hi , This is my third MKZh ( 2013,16 and 2018) , the mpg on all the cars computer was very consistent at 39 - 41 mpg on all three . By the way I saw photo of a new 2023 MKZ car for Japan .
  13. If you use a place like Jiffylube be sure to sit and watch how they do the oil change , most all of these places hire very inexperienced workers because they paid low wages , consequentially the workers could less about what they are doing , and who can know what kind of cheap oil they are using . I now paid a little extra and go to a Ford dealer , if not go to any car dealership that has trained mechanics working there . I use to go to Midas but every time I went there were different kids working there , last time I had to show them how to do the tire rotation and why ! Oil is the life blood of our cars . Jim
  14. leftoverture , That tread design looks to be the same as the Cross Climate 2 . You are getting great results with your tires because these all weather tires are the future of the tire world , you can ride year round in all conditions without having to change tires for winter and they feel like a summer tire . Now I would not say that they are comparable to winter tires in deeper snow , but so far I have driven in snow up to 5 inches with great confidence , anything deeper and I stay home. They have made my hybrid front wheel drive with the CVT able to handle winter where before I would not feel safe especially with the MXM4s , these tires on an all wheel drive would be awesome . Thank you for the updates , drive safe .
  15. We have about 5 inches of ice and snow here in Mass. , Normally I would never make it up the incline of my unplowed driveway with this condition especially with the cvt on my car , I would go around the block and come down from the top .. So I just had to test the tires , and yes they zipped right up to the top no problem . I can see where these " allweather " tires are the future , and we will see other tire manufacturers making their own brand of these . Drive safe - Jim
  16. So far the Michelin Crossclimate 2 ( 245 45 18 ) are the best in any weather snow , rain or dry of any tire that I have had on my MKZh , I had the Perilli A/S P7 2 and they were better than the MXM4 Michs ( not good in snow) , but these CC 2 live up to all the reviews about them so far , in Mass we have had some light snow and heavy rain and ice and these tires make you feel super confident driving . These are the only tires I have experience with .. Jim
  17. Hey thanks for all the feedback , next oil change will check with dealer . This is a great forum , Happy Holidays all !!!
  18. Thank you for the reply . However I do not have the smart phone , but why did Lincoln change the way the olm works .
  19. On my 2016 and 2013 the oil life monitor would tell me how much is left ( 50% , 30% etc ), now this 2018 MKZh does not read how much is left , when I go to the oil window it just shows how to reset and not how much is left ..
  20. This is my third MKZh ( 13 , 16 ,18 ), and I have always changed the air filter and cleaned the engine compartment , and never noticed this little liquid holder . I am always amazed to find new things about this car .
  21. I agree motor craft for engine , I like a charcoal infused for cabin , I have not seen a motor craft carbon cabin but WIX has a carbon cabin filter that looks good . Thanks and have a good Thanksgiving !
  22. What is the best air and cabin filters for the MKZ hybrid .
  23. $70 for a full synthetic change plus tire rotation and system check is a very good deal . I like my dealer , they do very good work , I hope I get that kind of deal from them . I go next week I will report back then .
