I made and 3D printed a wheel cap to test how it looks as one of mine went missing. I never liked the "PETROL" caps but can't find wheel caps that would fit. They are 61.81mm so I assume that they are considered 62mm. It's made of black PETG and the Logo is white PETG that's glued into the recess. I initially planned on painting them aluminum color but will just clear coat them as they are.

It was 3 years ago today that we brought our 2014 MKZ Reserve home from our local Lincoln dealership.  It had only 30k miles and cost us less than half the original sticker price.  Since then we've added 37k miles and enjoyed road trips to many states including Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Michigan, Wisconsin, and more.  So far.... not one single repair needed. It is my daily commuter now and the miles are accumulating faster than ever, and we have more road trips planned!

That's what my tint guy said about the space at the bottom. Nothing was removed during the install but it took two attempts to install it perfectly.

It Breaths !!!  The bracket showed up 2 days early and away we went.

The 4Tech video helped a lot with the disassembly and reassembly.  Biggest pains were the Rubics Cubes of electrical contacts.  4Tech made them all look soooo easy.  Not.  Hardest one was the USB cable for for the new USB ports.  4D had you reassemble the cup holder assembly and then do the USB module.  Thankfully I didn't because it left me with better access to the stupid clip holding the plug in.My first hour with it went pretty good.  The Android Play does require a USB cable for mine.  The navigation maps work.  The Parallel parking works !!  The only thing that I have found is when changing the radio volume the big circle that pops up on the screen does not show the volume level.  That I can deal with.  Over the next few days I'll see if anything else needs to be updated while I get use to a whole new menu system.
The date on my APIM was April 12, 2019.  Most of the used ones I have seen on line are circa 2015 and 2016 build dates.

My bracket came from this guy.  He answered the questions I had and had the brackets in the mail first thing after the holiday.: https://www.ebay.com/i/143834493425?rt=nc&_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20160908110712%26meid%3D8e5f73ece25644359897f38dad9f1262%26pid%3D100677%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D30%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D303845109139%26itm%3D143834493425%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2386202%26algv%3DDefaultOrganic%26brand%3DUnbranded
Got the kit from these guys.  https://www.ebay.com/str/techmichigan?_bkw=sync+3    Pretty sure they all get their components from the same place.  I went with them because of their time on eBay and feedback numbers.  They even got my VIN correct in the APIM.  Email responses were pretty good, considering the time zones as mentioned in an earlier post.

All in all it wasn't that hard.  Most of the time used was being overly cautious and those damn electrical connectors  Fear of breaking tabs and hearing loud snaps and bangs ?   I used 2 small blankets I had from Harbor Freight and they worked great.  A magnetic dish for the screws was great.  Always nice to know that you didn't lose any and at the end of the job you don't have any left over ?

I just paid $2.559/gal and PA is actually the most expensive among the nearby states (NJ, DE, MD).

    What's Santa's gift to you?
Santa got me a tire inflator that automatically stops at a preset pressure setting. Over the years, I have been using my trusted gauge. My back has been complaining especially during cold winter months performing the same routine while inflating my tires: inflate > read gauge >inflate or deflate > read gauge and so on.

Hi Jay. Try entering the code backwards. So if it was displayed as 1-2-3-4-5-, try entering it is 5-4-3-2-1.

For some odd reason, some vehicles display the code backwards when being retrieved in the Drivers Information Center.

Hey, I still occasionally raise the radio volume when I want to increase cruise control speed.  The steering wheel controls were reversed in my Lincoln LS and I haven't had that car since 2010.

Hi bnewt. The audio power button I believe "drolds1" is referring to is right next to the audio volume knob in the photo above. In the MKZ, you will get 10 minutes of play before it shuts off to save battery power.

You can also press the Start/Stop button twice (with foot off the brake) to put your MKZ in "Delayed Accessory Mode", as kramf stated. This will also give you ten minutes of play. Pressing once tuns on the ignition and other systems, pressing twice puts the system into "Delayed Accessory Mode".

Either way, you will get 10 minutes of play before the battery saver system turns the power off. You will need to press buttons again to resume play.

It may also help if you take a short cruise through some areas of your Owners Manual to learn all the features your MKZ has. Otherwise, you will probably miss quite a few.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

No. That generation of MKZ did not have that option. I had a 2010 and 2012, so I didn't raise that possibility. The 2nd-gen cars have a "darkness" switch for the interior lights.  Handy if you're on a nighttime stakeout.?

Seems like there are two different issues mentioned here.
I do not have the 1-2 hard shift on my MKZ but I did have the same issue on my previous 2014 Fusion + harsh shift in reverse.

I do have "slam" and I can replicate it almost every time.
For me, it ONLY happens during light acceleration AND while I happen to release the gas pedal before a change in gear completes.
