  1. Not happy with the low $40s base- was hoping for a few grand above the current $34.5 base.
  2. Here is what is being reported: This MKZ will debut with three drivetrain options: 2.0-liter, 240-hp, EcoBoost turbo four-cylinder that mates to a six-speed automatic with a paddle-shift manual mode; a 3.7-liter, 300-hp, naturally aspirated V-6, which buttons to the same transmission; and a hybrid model with a gas I-4, electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack. The turbo-four and V-6 can be had with front- or all-wheel drive. The hybrid is front-drive only. It's no secret that Lincoln has long been an also-ran in the luxury segment, lagging behind not only import luxury brands but, also, getting its lunch handed to it by Detroit rival Cadillac. In fact, it's gotten so bad there was even scuttlebutt that Ford might euthanize the brand, as it did with Mercury. Ain't gonna happen, said Jim Farley, Ford vice president of global marketing. "The new Lincoln MKZ represents the future of Lincoln in both style and substance," Farley said. "It is proof of our commitment to deliver a new breed of Lincolns for a new generation of Lincoln clients — motor cars that are distinctive, elegant, full of technology and a delight to own." Look for the new MKZ to arrive later this year. No prices yet, but a base price in the low 40s is a pretty good guess. 3. That is too bad since the Fusion will have AWD with the 2.0 as there is no V6 option. I guess Lincoln can't allow an 8.5 0-60 time.
  4. Yes, 3.7 V6. I am looking at the 2.0 turbo for better MPG having owned 3 V8s recently. The new 2.0T makes better power than last year's V6 and should hit 32MPG
  5. Not a fan of tiny trunk openings, it's like loading your luggage through a mail slot. That is the price for a steep c pillar without a hatchback lift.
  6. That old Chryco trans was on my dad's '63 Imperial with an oval steering wheel. The mew MKZ is nothing like those long mechanical push buttons with their deep recesses. This will be either touch sensitive or very shallow click- tell wifey not to worry with today's tech. :banvictory:
  7. I love everything about it- c-pillar, front end, tail, interior. It is nearly perfect. Any clue on BIG price jump. The current year is $34.5 for both the hybrid and v6. I am hoping the 2.0 is in that ball park. The safety features are incomparable- rear seatbelt airbags- MB, BMW, Audi?? NO I am also considering the '14 Impala with it's stunning design and similar list of safety/tech for several grand less in a bigger package but if the MKZ blows me away and drives as well as it looks i'll get one (depending on $$).
