    • Hi Greg and welcome to the Lincoln MKZ Forum. Did you have a question or concern?   Let us know and good luck.
    • Why did this become a thing, when we went from 1 to 2 or to 3 I don't remember seeing this.... just wait till we go to 5 and leave 4 in the dust...!!!!
    • Hi Slick and welcome to the MKZ Forum. Not much I can recommend by blind Internet diagnosis, other than have you performed all required maintenance for the current and previous age and mileage of your vehicle (as per the Maintenance Schedule)? Changed plugs etc?    A related question/questions though: How long do you normally sit and wait for the vehicle to warm up? Do you normally wait 15 minutes or is that a remote start observation?  The reason I ask is...It is not necessary to sit and wait very long. As per Lincoln/Ford, a 15-20 second wait, then drive, is sufficient and also most efficient for vehicle warmup. Just start the vehicle, put on our seatbelt and do whatever else we normally do before driving away. By that time, 15-20 seconds has gone by and we can drive away.   If you have performed required maintenance and still believe you have an issue, it may be best to have a shop/tech you trust take a look.   I am sure others will also jump in to help, so keep us updated and good luck.
    • So I’m having problems with my 08 mkz. Only when cold start. Won’t idle down for almost 15 minutes. It just started doing this since it is cold outside any ideas would be great
    • Thought id add a PSA to this topic, to help those in the future from my learning the hard way.   Before you do anything with the new 4G modem on any level esp with forscan, go to settings and turn on vehicle hotspot, then connect to it from another device, follow the prompts to connect your car for in car wifi thru ATT, while it still is registering the old VIN, make an account and get car connected, and then once thats done proceed with any of the remaining steps.  If you dont you forfeit your ability to use in car wifi connectivity with the new modem.  once it registers your current cars vin it can no longer be searched for thru ATT system and ford wont help either if you ask them to reissue the vin as an active 4g vin.     If you dont plan to use the feature carry on, if you do, do it before it learns your vehicles vin number which happens pretty quick on its own.  even tho the vin changes on the modem ATT still communicates with it via the antenna and serial i guess, you just need the initial handshake to happen.  If you cancel your service at any time you can kiss it goodbye as well.  You dont need this connectivity for the remote features they still work without a flaw but the ATT connectivity was nice when traveling and my verizon was low on signal usually ATT was strong in those times.
    • I just bought a 2011 with this issue, you guys are very helpfull and i will be on here alott.
    • Hello.  My 74yr old mothers 15 2.0t mkz recently started having this problem.  77k miles   When engine is started and in gear, she says it will die when she tries to drive off.  She puts in P and restarts fine.  Once driving it's fine.  Happens frequently but not everytime.   I drove an could not replicate anything. I scanned for engine/trans codes.  None present.  Battery good. Terminals tight.    Anyone else have this problem?
    • Mine is just squeaking, you think a spray of WD-40 to that center metal piece would be a good start?
    • It was time for me to change my tires from Sumitomo HTR Enhance WX2. These tires were very close to being called worn out at 25k miles. For the price I paid for it vs performance, I would have purchased the same if they were available. Hence, the search.   First of all, the 19in wheels should have also come with tires with "45" side wall ratio. It just simply looked better. The proceeding information is based on the 245/45R19 Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS+ One of the reasons why I looked for a "45" instead of the OEM "40" is to lessen the jarring effect when hitting a pothole (I'm in PA), driving over railroad tracks, etc. I passed by railroad tracks on my daily commute and I sure am liking the lesser impact. For the life of this vehicle (102k), it has gone 2 ball joint replacements (within ~2.5 yrs) - of course, the quality of the 3rd party part needs to be taken into consideration, too but.. These tires have lesser "road feel" - it's still there but way subdued. I am liking the smoothness, quietness and responsiveness. There's not much rain and snow yet so no comments on that matter.   The biggest reason why I am compelled to provide this information even without the rain and snow phenomenon yet is the fact that these tires suck (for lack of better words - I will change later, haha) on groove roads - which we have a lot. They just developed a life of its own when passing on these types of road. I do not know how to explain it but it feels like I'm floating. Switching to a more rigid suspension setting lessens it a bit but the feeling remains the same. I have never experienced tires like this. Maybe it will lessen over time as the tires wear out or maybe I should just replace it - not sure yet. I am ~600miles with it.
