No key detected

i start my MKZ 2014 all is good then all of a sudden I get no key detected but car still drives turns off and on anyone else forgetting this issue

I've gotten that on occassion. It's possible there is some RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) in the area. I know one place where I go it does it all of the time. In any case it seems harmless.

Nope.  Never have forgotten it.  Gotten it yes, but it is hard to forget.  ;)

I've gotten a few "mystery beeps" as well.  Remember that issue with the early LSes, Joe? ;)

I do remember that. I never had it because I had a non-Sport V6.

Add it to my single (rain sensing)wiper sweep on sunny days and front parking alert briefly beeping when not that close to anything.

And still it was a very good car for it's time.

 

ConsumerReports released their "Best & Worst" cars issue. The MKZ did all right. One quote I like in the Profiles covering the Lincoln Vehicles.

 

"The lone exception is the well-executed MKZ sedan, which is based on the Ford Fusion. With a luxurious, quiet interior and ride and handling rivaling a European sports sedan, it's easily the best recent Lincoln in memory."

That happened once near Area 51, but I forgot it happened. Did it? Happen, I mean? :whistling:

It has happened to my wife twice, but normally when she gets in to start it, it tells her no key fob detected, even though she has hers, and in two cases mine as well.  She has to reprogram the key to get it to start the car.  Weird.
