I came out one hour later to find the windows down on my 2016 Lincoln MKZ. At first I thought my car had been vandalized but when I noticed all four windows were down I began to think something else was going on. No damage and nothing missing from the car. Later that day I found on the Lincoln web site a video about the car cooling feature. Hit the unlock key on the FOB once, pause a moment and then hold down the unlock key for three seconds. Sure enough, all four windows rolled down. Problem is I can't figure out how I might have "accidentally" done this with the key FOB in my jacket pocket. Izzy3906 Posted November 16, 2017 Share Posted November 16, 2017 Same thing happen to me not to long ago and since I keep the fob in my pants front pocket I think when I was picking up something it made pressure on the fob and open the windows. R2D2 Posted November 16, 2017 Share Posted November 16, 2017 Same thing happen to me not to long ago and since I keep the fob in my pants front pocket I think when I was picking up something it made pressure on the fob and open the windows. So maybe that happen to you and you did not notice it. I had this happen quite often along with accidently hitting the panic alarm button. One last thing.... you stated that you just keep the fob in the case and don't use it. How about locking the car when you leave. I'm use to using the fob to lock it when I leave. I suppose I can just hit the door lock button on the way out. I have the numbered keypad on the outside too so I guess I can get use to not using the fob buttons. Thanks for the tip and the link. Jerry I just touch the top of the door handle closest to the door edge, works with any door. Not sure if you have that on your vehicle, it might have been part of a package I think it is called "Intellegent Access". It is listed on my window sticker and it is in the owners manual. I tried posting the picture from the OM but can't do that.... When the car was new to me I even complained to the dealer while in for routine maintenance and they couldn't find any problem. It took a while before I realized that it mostly happens on weekends when I'm wearing jeans (tighter pockets), and the panic button was getting pushed when I got out of the car. I try to be careful about it, but I was excited to see in the FORscan/OBDLink Mods thread that the "Panic Alarm Setting for Key Fob" can be set to "Two Consecutive Press Activation" and I have a note to ask the dealer to do that the next time I'm there. Hopefully they'll just do it and not claim ignorance. I do like the case idea, but I'm in a nasty winter weather area, so I use remote start fairly often this time of year.
