    • Hi Harvey and welcome to the Lincoln MKZ Forum. To my knowledge, the lens is not a separately replaceable part. You can try using a plastic polish on it. Something like Meguiar's PlastX. Keep us updated and good luck.
    • The backup camera on my 2017 lincoln MKZ has gotten cloudy and distorted. I have cleaned with no results. Is there a replacement lens cover or do you have to replace the camera? Thank you
    • Hi shay_shay020 and welcome to the Lincoln MKZ Forum. While we approved your post to be visible, it would be better to begin your own new thread outlining your problems, instead of piggybacking onto an older, existing thread. You will probably get a better response that way.   Keep us updated and good luck.
    • My battery and my alternator has been taking turns dying each year. The 1st two times my battery died, I thought this was because I had a system installed. I disconnected all my wired to my system to be sure.  Well, the next time, i replaced my alternator and battery again.  Since then a year and a half ago I took it to Maik Haik and was able to get the alternator replaced on warranty. Now as of this past Friday the problem has occurred again. My car is dragging to start, sometimes i have to turn the key 2 or 3 times to even get a turn to crank as if the battery is dead. All my lights are currently still coming on. Also, when it initially cranks i have a warning light show. Its the one with the person in a seat belt with a circle in front. I can't remember if this warning light came on and stay on previously but it has done it twice once Friday. I did not drive this vehicle Saturday or Sunday, but the warning light came on today (Monday). It has to be more to this issue than just bad cells in a battery or the alternator going bad. This is annoying and is happening too many times not to be connected to the car in any type of way. Please assist.
    • Yes,  this car has an issue with rust on the lower inner door seams.  And don't expect Lincoln/Ford to stand behind it.  My sister has a 2020 MKZ she bought new in July of 2020.   she lives in upper central florida where the car has been garage kept for 4 years, with only 14,000 miles on it in that 4 years.  She is the type where she would not pay attention to noticing these types of things.  As such, I found the issue on her car on a recent visit to her house.  Unfortunately, I found it after the initial 4 year warranty had just expired a few months prior.  Despite the fact that the rust on the lower doors was such that it would be obvious that it had to have been there during the basic 4 year warranty term,  Ford/Lincoln would not cover it as my sister didn't inform them during the 4 year warranty period.  With regards to the 5 year rust warranty they have...., it requires an actual perforation through the sheet metal.  But I was astounded a garage kept, low mileage car thats never been driven on northern salt roads and barely even been in rain as my sister is afraid to drive in the rain, could be having this problem.  As stated above,  she only drives it about 3,500 miles a year.  But all four doors have rust bubbles on inside seam of the doors and Ford will not stand behind it.  To me, this was such a bizarre problem, I did a google search on MKZ rust issues and found out there are many other owners with this same problem spanning years and going back as 2014 or so.  Ford and Lincoln must have known about this and not only do not fix the rust on these vehicles, but saw fit to not address the unsatisfactory assembly and quality control of the doors at that mexican plant where this car was built.  My sisters car is a 2020 model year car and if they were having this problem as far back as 2013 to 2014, Ford/Lincoln must have known about the issue at the time her 2020 was built.
    • I was having this problem.  However, from what I've read, WD-40 is not a good solution.  Since it was 2+ months ago, I don't remember why WD-40 should not be used. Use silicone spray instead.
    • Good info, I've been using SIL-Glyde or Tri-Flow Clear Synthetic Grease.
    • Hello, I just wanted to update everyone. My husband found this on an F150 forum: Krytox by Chemours GPL 205 Grease. here's what he sent me: ______   Krytox spec is GPL-205   " Tricks for the Raptor moonroof: 1) lube the rubber to glass contact points on the front glass panel. 2) don’t skimp. use the Ford Krytox grease, you can get on amazon. some dealerships throw it in with a works service. Ask. <-- edit to add: Krytox spec is GPL-205 3) ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS open the moonroof to the VENT position first. If you hear the ‘pop’ sound, it’s the sound that would have broken your moonroof tracks seconds earlier. close, repeat and if no pop sound, it’s ok to open it rearward. 4) Ford doesn’t call out the need to lube the moonroof. Do it anyway. The common failure is from a lack of maintenance aka lube and opening the moonroof rearward. The stickiness between the glass and rubber causes the moonroof lift mechanism to break off plastic bits into the tracks, causing the moonroof to either not open or not close. This can be exacerbated by ... sometimes, over time the moonroof may develop some squeaks & rattles. A quick, easy workaround is to open and close the moonroof fully. just be sure to follow the moonroof suggestions above."   "Clean tracks and rubber first with alcohol"   https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MWLDALQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 __________________________________________________________________________________ Has anyone used this? I'm ordering it and will update the thread with the results. Right now, my inside 'cover' is making clicking noises and I actually just had that replaced less than a year ago.
    • The control panel isn't lighting up or responding and the cross traffic alert is not working or the passenger side windows, sideview mirror fold, and passenger door buttons, not throwing any codes besides the cross traffic fault
    • Hello,   Does anyone know what the best seal conditioner I should use on my 2014? I want to condition the seals around the doors and trunk to keep them nice and working properly. I'd also be interested to know if there is a specific gear grease that can be used on the power seat mechanics under the driver's side, it squeaks fairly loudly when resetting during entry and exiting. And, if the same lubricant can be used on the panoramic roof, both the interior cover (which I had replaced about a year ago) and the metal rails. Thank you so much for your help. 😄
