ZED Posted May 28, 2018 My Lincoln dealer has a nice automatic car wash and when I bought my MKZ they said I could get my car washed for free as often as I want. Is this a common Lincoln thing? Do other Lincoln dealers offer this service also?
bbf2530 Posted May 28, 2018 (edited) My Lincoln dealer has a nice automatic car wash and when I bought my MKZ they said I could get my car washed for free as often as I want. Is this a common Lincoln thing? Do other Lincoln dealers offer this service also? Hi Zed. Allowing "anytime you want" car washes is not a standard or required service of Lincoln Dealerships in general. It is only a standard Lincoln Dealer service for owners of Lincoln Black Label vehicles. When not a Black Label model, the Dealer is offering the service as a courtesy, so consider yourself lucky. :) Edited May 28, 2018 by bbf2530
drolds1 Posted May 28, 2018 My dealer gives me a card for a free wash at a hand-wash only up the road but only when it's in for service; not whenever you want. My friend had a BMW and his dealer offered that courtesy. I've never used the coupon. I don't use commercial car washes. I've seen some of those on-site car dealer car washes and there are people who specify that they don't want their car washed after service because of the swirls induced by them. jimflutes Posted May 28, 2018 Oh yea , I was never going to let anyone wash my car but me with my microfiber sponge and microfiber towels. But this last winter as it was way too cold for me to wash it and my car was looking real dirty and salty going in for oil change , so I was very happy to have them wash it for me , they even do the interior detailing. And they washed it again for the recalled steering wheel nut. Now I have a lighter color car so swirls may not show , and the finish looks fine to me , it can't be that I am at the age where it's just not that big a deal. drolds1 Posted May 28, 2018 it can't be that I am at the age where it's just not that big a deal. I am at that age where it shouldn't be but it is. My wife keeps trying to get me to break down and do it but I just can't. This past weekend, she went through a car wash with my daughter. She was so excited because she'd never been to one. I'd probably forget to shut off the rain sensing wipers and to engage the Neutral hold and ending up with thousands in damge anyway. 1 R2D2 reacted to this

My carwash does a quick spray to test if I turned off the auto-wipers... the car reminds me to do the Neutral hold :)
jimflutes Posted May 29, 2018 The touchless car wash might be a good solution , it uses high pressure water and soap then powerful blowers that dry the car , so nothing touches the car itself. I was skeptical at first but was impressed with how well it does. Then I use opti-seal to spray down the car and I am all set. It looks like I spent hours on the car. Same concept as a dishwasher.
MKZMark Posted May 29, 2018 I've seen those in action. Same concept as a dishwasher. Last time I tried one it didn't take the dirt off at all. Maybe they've gotten better.
dwonder Posted May 31, 2018 I got a card for 100 free washes when I got my 2017. On top of that, the guy that I worked with told me when I run out to let him know and he'll give me another card :-O I just hit 58. Just wondering if he will remember, lol
