  1. When I ordered my amp, sub and LOC device I actually purchased Crutchfield's guide on the removal process. I literally can not find it anywhere in the house. I have scoured the web and forums and even this one and ran across a few pictures but was only able to find information on a older 2011 MKZ for the rear deck removal. If anyone has any information or pictures of which stuff to take out where that would be greatly appreciated. I am also trying to move the carpet back that is under the 6x9's to do some speaker testing and seems that is tucked around in so many stupid areas. The trunk section has a Velcro spots at the hatch but I am not going to just go tugging to find out and break stuff. Any help is appreciated. I may end up purchasing the guide again if I can not find it. Doubt Crutchfield will give another copy digitally for a lost copy purchased but I may ask and provide the purchase order and see. Example of the rear deck panel I am referring to is below. If there is another name for it that is searchable with information, that would be also helpful.
  2. I can't even tune a radio station. I recently changed the battery. What could cause this? Thanks
  3. I've had my 2014 MKZ for about 2 months now, and it has the THX audio system. My only complaint is that something in the front driver's side door rattles when I turn the volume up too high. And I'm not talking all THAT loud - I've never turned it up past halfway. But especially when the bass hits in a song that features a heavy bass, it honestly sounds like the speaker is blown. So I took it back to the dealer, and they replaced that speaker (under warranty). It still makes the noise. They told me this morning that it's something in the door panel that causes the noise, and there's nothing that can be done about it. Does anyone else have that problem, and have you found any solutions? Thanks in advance for any help.
  4. The rear speakers in my 2016 w/ the THX system are almost inaudible when you have the fade settings set to "0" or the mid-point on the adjustment screen. Since it was only recently I ever sat in the back when the radio was on, I have no idea if this is how it has always been since I took possession a year ago. You can manually set the fade to where you hear them when listening at a normal volume, so it doesnt appear to be bad speakers. Further, I brought the car into my local dealer for unrelated small issue that turned out to be a fuse. I asked them to look at the speaker issue as well and the dealer explanation was inconclusive. The new service manager didn't have the info on hand when I was picking up the car (after 5 days) and was clearly a non-technical person. She told me they were going to order a new "radio" (her words, !!!) and call me when it came in. That was over 2 weeks ago, haven't heard a thing. Since it took them 4 days to find a blown fuse and come up with this non-diagnosis, I'm really not looking forward to taking it back for something so minor. Overall, this service department has been a real disappointment. That said, has anyone else noticed this in their MKZ? Could it just be how the balance/fade is programmed? Thanks.
  5. So I've had this happen a few times on my 2011 MKZ. The audio/music on my phone seems to disconnect from the bluetooth and will not reconnect. I can still ANSWER phone calls via the manual buttons, but voice control no longer works. I've deleted the phone and readded through the menu multiple times to no avail. The ONLY thing that works, for a while, is disconnecting the negative battery cable for 5 minutes.Has anyone else had this issue and found a better answer??
  6. After searching all over on the net I haven't been able to find an answer, even on the Revel website. Does anybody have an idea of the speaker size in the Revel Sound Systems? Mainly the ones at the bottom of the door and in the back over the trunk. Like are they 6 x 9's, 10's, 12's? I only came across this diagram but it doesn't have sizes. Looking at the diagram I would guess 6 x 9's at the bottom of the doors and 10's over the trunk Thanks for any feedback

    THX Audio System

Hi All, Just picked up a 2014 MKZ today with all the options including the THX audio system. I got the system configured such that it sounds quite good to the front seat passengers and have been enjoying it during my commute to work.. However today, while I was showing it off to some folks, I happened to sit in the back seat. I had a local HD classic rock station playing and I noticed that the audio quality in the back seat is quite the polar opposite of the quality in the front seat - I get a whole lot of bass and really not much else - it sounds like the speakers in the doors are barely doing anything. I currently have the system set to the SURROUND setting. Setting it to STEREO didn't seem to make much of a difference. Anybody else notice this? I'm wondering if I've got some bad channels in the AMP? My other thought is that the system is just tuned from the factory to favor the front seat passengers. Thanks! Eric
