As far as I know they're all built at the Hermosillo, Mexico plant.

Maybe Assembly line 'A' had the wrong bolts waiting to be installed, and Assembly line 'B' had the correct bolts.  Etc...

Our dealership in the Chicago area took care of it this morning. We brought the car in for something else and they took care of it promptly.

jmcgliss, that's good to know. I'll be taking my car in for my annual service in early April. They did the seat belt recall very quickly.

Out of the almost 1.5 million vehicles sold, there were 45 actual complaints to the NHTSA.  Not worth losing sleep over it.  Rushing to get it done won't change anything.  More likely to get in an accident with some teenage girl who's texting.

Two accidents; 1½-million cars.  It's not keeping me up at night either.

Agreed. It’s real, but this stuff gets blown out of proportion.

But, then again, I have a 2013, so I don't have to worry about totaling my car by driving into a manhole.

I had the recall done at the same time they replaced the weak battery - but now my Air Bag Light is illuminated. Work has kept me from going back to the dealer (and have been driving a work vehicle).

I just had my car picked up for my first service ( a valet picked up the car not a flat bed like I thought  ) My service advisor told me that my car was not on the recall list when he ran my VIN.. Thought all the models MKZ/FUSION were on the list

I went in for a oil change today, and they performed my recall service. The total time with oil and recall was about 90 minutes.

They applied the "fix" today when I had it in for service. Another thing that I don't need to worry about. :)
