I just leased a 2017 MKZ. It is running Sync 3 version 2.0 build 16074. I noticed that some other Lincoln models are running version 2.2. When I check for updates via wifi it fails every time. The Lincoln owner site says that I'm up to date, however the "date last checked" is October 2016. Can anyone tell me if there is a more current version than 2.0 for the MKZ? Thanks

I got my Sync 3 force updated by the dealership after requesting it along with a variety of module updates.

Is the version 2.2 for 2016 mkz models because as someone pointed out via wifi they still show 10/16 and mine shows version 2.0 as of 12/16

*****Update***** I just called the dealer@10:20AM on June 10th and there is an update 2.2 and they couldn't explain why it wasn't updating via WiFi. Have apt on Monday
Just curious, sat in car about an hour connected to WiFi, no update
Went into my Lincoln account and this is what I see, Hello Dealer see you Monday

1.jpg 128.67KB 1 downloadsUpdate for Lincoln 2017 MKZ Reserve Hybrid
After looking for Sync 3 from 2.0 to 2.2
I found this
Downloaded the Zip file to laptop and unzipped the file to 2 files and 1 Folder, and then copied to thumb drive, Keep in mind car may not recognize a particular drive so you may have to use another thumb drive, mine worked with 1st thumbdrive I found
After inserting thumbdrive into usb I noticed updating software and let car run for 15 minutes. Turned car off and opened door and then saw a notice software updated. Went to settings on car and checked software version and this is what I saw
Dealer not needed and nothing Deleted.

It's done via wi-fi. See video.
Edit: My mistake for not reading carefully. You asked about map updates, not software updates.
Apparently there aren't any map updates for Sync3 yet. When you go to Lincoln Owner, Map Update and enter 2017 MKZ, it says that you have the latest maps-check back later. I then tried the Ford Map Update Store for the 2016 Ford Edge. My S-I-L has one and it has Sync3. Same result.
I guess we'll have to wait on this one but they'll probably do it via wi-fi also-- after you pay for the file first.

Okay...this horrible update ruined ALL my album art!!!!!!! Hundreds of albums on a 128GB drive. I'm gonna update the index again. Is there a way to go back!?!?
I have no issues with my album arts. But I stream via Bluetooth however.
Did you put the update files on the same Drive stick with your album arts? It is best to use a drive stick that only has the vehicle's update files on it, and avoid mixing it with anything else.
Try the factory master reset in the Sync 3 settings. That is all I can think to suggest for now.

I'm trying to find a way to downgrade back to version 2.0. Does anyone know where to find the zip file for that version? I'm saving a master reset as a last resort... I'm trying to avoid that 24-hour waiting period to reauthorize my car with the Lincoln Way app. This sucks...

It turned out that a master reset didn't require a 24-hour reauthorization period. 😊 But, unfortunately, it didn't fix the album art issue. 😔
This is not good. I was just waiting for it to be an automatic update via wifi but now I am tempted to turn off the automatic updates.

After looking into it, and if one wants to roll back as update, the APIM will need a "reformatted" back to the factory built files. This will require Ford IDS service work, so the average person will just have to make the request to the dealership for assistance.
I would contact your dealer, explain the situation and hopefully get a no cost service to roll back the APIM to version 2.0 as it came from the factory.
It's either that or wait till the next Sync 3 update comes along and hopefully addresses the issue. This would be something like version 2.3 or so.
Such is the life with software...

At their rate, the next version won't be released until December...
I have studied the songs that display correctly and compared with those that don't. I can't seem to find any differences or anything that stands out in the file properties that would cause one to not display all its artwork. All of my music is in .mp3 or .m4a format with the album art (.jpg) embedded directly in each file. That's how my laptop, tablet, smartphone, or TV can play the tracks and display the artwork. And all the ID3 tags are in the same format. ID3v2.3. So I'm really confused.
I'm going to keep my eye on these other forums with users having the same issue. I really don't want to have to take it in just for that. I will wait until my next scheduled service appointment. Unless I notice other things wrong in the next day or so...

I called Lincoln for 2 questions,
1.How are they going to do updates for the Map and will there be a charge?
Have no idea for updates for Map yet or will there be a charge/no charge
2. Album art not displaying in mp3's with embedded art work. I did mention that the art work displays on laptop but not in the car. To me displaying artwork is not important since I listen to Sirius. But I ripped an album (Reba McEntire) Sing it now
and everything was displayed as to correct album songs, contributors and hear it now also displayed correct information, but not the correct cover although it did display the picture of the artist and I spent about 1.5 hrs because I like
Lincoln's answer was that Gracenote was not updated, and I couldn't argue because I now have Sync 2.2 and have no idea how it worked with Sync3 2.0 and Lincoln is aware of the problem because I am not
the 1st person to bring it to there attention. Not looking for arguments , but just letting you know what they told me.
The first 2 jpg's are what appears in the car and all information is correct except for the album art and the 3rd is what should have appeared in the car and did enable/disable, no difference must be bug in sync 3 2.2
