robertlane
Some 2016 MKZ changes that I noticed: Exterior Color Black Velvet replaces Tuxedo Black Interior Light dune changed to Cappuccino Ebony cabin environment with Hazelnut seats changes to Hazelnut cabin. . . Functional EcoSelect added
Max
Is there really a difference between these 2 Black Velvet replaces Tuxedo Black?
wildcatgoal
What is Ecoselect and what does the hazelnut line item mean, that anything black in the hazelnut interior turns to the hazelnut? You'd think they'd be a little more clear but I guess these are for dealers, not customers.
wildcatgoal
http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1096816_2016-ford-fusion-hybrid-energi-models-to-get-900-price-cut This explains EcoSelect - basically reduced acceleration and energy dedicated to A/C/heat etc. I think that's basically EV mode in a Prius - not too familiar with those hideous things. Davisjl
Is that a typo on the "6-years" prepaid Sirius traffic link? The entertainment side of the Sirius is only a "6-month" prepaid.
bobhamb
My dealer said that it was 6 years for Sirius Traffic Link. I asked the same question when I purchased my 2016. I hope he's right.
SteveB_TX
I notice they didn't change to the new Sync 3 system. Too bad. I guess the stuff I have read about all 2016 models receiving Sync 3 was bogus. Grrrr. :(

lincoln_1999
I notice they didn't change to the new Sync 3 system. Too bad. I guess the stuff I have read about all 2016 models receiving Sync 3 was bogus. Grrrr. :( Darn it :(. I thought all Lincoln's 2016 lineup would get Lincoln's version of Ford SYNC 3. So, what about the availability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?. The 2016 Hyundai Sonata will be the first car to get Android Auto which will be available late 2015. http://www.autoblog.com/2015/05/26/hyundai-sonata-android-auto/ And, all 2016 Chevrolet models will get both. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2484743,00.asp One more question for all the 2013-2016 MKZ owners, how would describe your experience with MyLincoln Touch so far?. Is it really that bad as described by most auto publications?. Edited May 28, 2015 by lincoln_1999
JoeBrown
Maybe it's just me but I have no complaints about MyLincoln Touch. It is not a speed demon but works just fine for me. Just to qualify my statement, I'm a retired IT Professional so maybe my expectations are more realistic than others. lincoln_1999, Robert Iggy Cerami and R2D2

SteveB_TX
I really don't have an issue with MLT. I do however want the advantages and options available with Sync 3 and Android Auto. :) lincoln_1999

heatherfeather
I have had my car two months and like the MyLincoln Touch. It has never been slow to respond or anything. Maybe other manufacturers have better systems. I really have nothing to compare it to as my previous car I had ten years so it lacked that technology. jimflutes
If you did not have this kind of technology in your previous car it will take time to learn how to use all the different windows. I just sat in the car while not driving , and went through the touch screens and what they did , after awhile it is like anything else the more you use it the easier it gets. Thrakkkk
What about additional knobs and notched buttons/sliders to make the instrument panel more like the MKC? I thought that was supposed to happen. Honestly, I'm feeling really deflated about holding off on purchasing a MKZ. They dropped a black color to add a black color that looks the same to me. Everything else seems practically the same as the 2013 iteration. After saving my money for years and telling myself that MKZ is the only car for me, I find myself looking at other cars because MKZ is lacking any big changes. JoeBrown
Thrakkkk if you like the car enough to purchase it now, do it. It's only four years with this design. Who knows, when they do make changes you may not like it. :) Many other brands do not make much of a change model year to model year. BMW, Mercedes Benz, Lexus, Accura and the list goes on. If you don't own one of them you have no idea what model year it is. My Lincoln LS was also in that category. Even though there are "under the cover" changes and features, I like the idea that my 2014 looks the same as the 2013 AND 2016 model. I like seeing other MKZs like mine on the road. PS. A black car is a black car is a black car.............. Edited June 11, 2015 by JoeBrown Robert Iggy Cerami

I traded my 13 MKZh for a 15 3.7....One reason was that there were no major changes.. It is a great looking car.. They made some slight changes.. Folding side mirrors, illuminated power trunk button inside the trunk and i noticed that the voice commands work better than the 13.. These are just a few off the top of my head..If its not broke don't fix it Edited June 11, 2015 by Robert Iggy Cerami JoeBrown

I've had it in my 2009 MKS, 2012 MKZ, and in my current 2015 MKZ. One of my main beefs is that using Voice Controls you are basically navigating the menus with voice, which can be very slow. It's often faster to just touch the screen to get where you need to be. My own view is that overall, car manufacturers are terrible about developing user interfaces for the infotainment systems. Forget Sync entirely. What needs to happen is for Apple's CarPlay and whatever the Android system is to be implemented in the vehicles ASAP. Apple et al. have the best user interfaces, and if that can be mirrored on the car, the customer will be very happy. Customer is already familiar with the interface and knows how to use it. Car manufacturer costs will go down as they will not need complicated electronics to support the system. Win-Win for everybody.
JoeBrown
That's fine for folks who have either Apple or Android systems experience and knowledge. There are millions of folks around the world who don't.
jimflutes
From what I see on the net , the 2017 MKZ will have a changed front grill and small changes to the rear . Jim
jimflutes
From I read on the internet the 2017 MKZ will have a major change to the front of the car , much like the new 16 continental . If that is the case I do not think I am going to like it. I said before that this will work for the continental but would be too square for the sleek lines of the Z , but we will have to wait and see , it may surprise me and look great , if not I buy a 2016 then. Car manufacturer costs will go down as they will not need complicated electronics to support the system. Win-Win for everybody. I have to strongly agree with this. It seems like a constant complaint about most cars is the over complicated, over simplified, too many button, not enough buttons, why aren't there more features, who needs those features...kind of systems. What works for one is atrocious for another. With phones you get to pick what features you want and the complexity of the system, why not have that idea inside of your car? Your smart phone can already control most things in your house (if you really want it to) so you might as well push it into the entertainment system (with wireless charging...of course). Myron D. Brown
They have made some minor changes since the 2013 redesign. 2015 saw the addition of power folding mirrors and an embedded modem, so that you can use features of the MyLincoln Mobile smartphone app. Besides the "new black" color, 2016 didn't really add much new. But I do LOVE the puddle lamps on the 2016 MKZ. (Have you seen them?) I'm thinking I'm going to take the plunge and get a Black Label Hybrid next year (2017 model). I also have several hopes/fears about waiting... I've read/seen lots of videos where people complain about all the sliders and touch sensitive buttons. I actually love that design. Especially the way the buttons are virtually invisible until the car is powered on. It's something I haven't seen in any other car. And I'm afraid Lincoln might take it away. I'm sorts holding out for Sync 3, since I can take advantage of Android Auto, but that really isn't a make or break for me. I'm hoping that one day the MKZ will get full-range adaptive cruise control--like some of the German luxury cars--complete with autonomous braking. I've read something about Ford's Pedestrian Detection, etc. that's being introduced on the European version of the Fusion now. It's supposed to come to all Fords and Lincolns eventually, but I don't know how soon. It would also be cool to see the advanced park assist features of the new MKX be brought to the MKZ...e.g. "Park Out Assist" and "Perpendicular Parking Assist." Not absolutely necessary, but I think they're cool features to have. And my last little pet peeve... with such a technologically advanced car, there has to be some way to design an MKZ with a panoramic roof without that horrible rubber mast antenna on the side. I understand that the little knob on the back of the trunk is for the GPS antenna only. There should be some way that Lincoln can incorporate the radio and embedded modem signals another way. That antenna is so ugly and dated. I read somewhere that if you don't get the panoramic roof, the antenna/signal is embedded into the body of the roof. But with the panoramic roof being glass, that wasn't an option--thus the ugly antenna. So the waiting game is a gamble. I just don't want to wait so long that they change this body style. The next MKZ body style could be hideous. Then again, we may like the next body style even better. Then I could always do a trade in. And lose 30+% of value. :(
